Not trying to abscond with your post Bootscrape. Tell me to start my own if you'd prefer.

Here are the spigots (some polished, some not - really like the ornate one with the valve still there) which may be water, fuel and/or gas, a brass minie ball enfield mold, and a nice Hubley cast car found at a house in the the high Oregon desert (very dry and sandy).  Car is a about 8" long for reference.

Neat link.  I did know it was a 'log truck', but hadn't seen this.  I grew up around the big sticks on the west coast, and am used to much larger log trucks....even back then😀

Howdy Bootscrape, that's a fine grouping of relics and artifacts that you have there. I found my first barrel taps when I was just a teenager so they occupy a special place in my mind and heart and i never grow tired of seeing them. Also that retro hash pipe brings back a whole lot of very pleasant but somewhat cloudy memories from my youth.I have to admit that i really admire your meticulous effort skill and hard work to bring all of them back to there original condition and glory because they look sharp. However the thing is and please don't be offended but since I named my daughter and two different dogs that I have had Patina I obviously have a different preference.

That truck would put a big smile on just about any treasure hunters face!

No worries Doc..... I too love patina on the right stuff, not sure about the name Patina though. Certainly different.

These pieces certainly have plenty of patina even after a good cleanup.

A beautiful collection of brass there 'Scrape. That old weed/hash pipe from the 1970s takes me back as well. 😵 😄

I used to clean and polish some of my brass relics but haven't in a while. A buffing wheel takes it to the next level. A coating of Renaissance wax as the final step will help retain the shine but some older items do look better with a dull tone.

Awesome job on polishing them up. I have tons of old brass but none of them are polished 😄
