Arkansas Diamond Found

If someone else hasn’t, I try to post the links about diamonds found at Crater of Diamonds state park in Arkansas.

Never been but would like to go sometime. I do have some diamond prospecting experience though.

I've been for a couple of days and I would go back if I lived closer.

It is a really nice State Park.  The staff is friendly and they have the information you need to be successful.  We didn't find any diamonds on our trip but you have to train your eyes to the task.

The most difficult part about going is getting the accommodations near the park.  If you already live there and it is a day trip for you then I would go often, especially after it rains.

I was there probably 20 years ago and spent the night in my truck on the campground. I came across 2 guys who were digging deep holes for them and after some friendly conversation they showed me what type of material they were looking for in the dig hole and it was a blackish color layer. They found some small diamonds while i was there and showed me how to tell the difference from quartz. I don't know if the park still allows digging by hand.
