New Manticore On The Way

My hunting buddy finally has a Manticore on the way.  Should  be here next week.  I'm so excited for him. 

Then the fun will begin with us comparing targets with my Equinox 800. 

I lost my other hunting buddy to Covid 1 1/2 years ago.

We have already planned our first location which in the past has yielded some fairly deep targets for our dirt.

Detector arrived but we were shocked by a scratch on the face of the detector.  Not sure how that could have happened.  The detector was double boxed and it showed no damage from the outside.  I'm guessing it shipped from the factory with the scratch.  Not even sure what to do.

So that scratch went through and underneath the screen protector?

Manticore’s are packed with a plastic protective sheet over the screen. If yours was  missing then you were not the first to open it.

Manufactured defect, you can put in a warranty claim. I heard the turnaround is fast. You will receive a new one in days not Months like a pre-order.

Looks like the factory screen protector is still in place.  I would peel it back far enough to see whether the screen is actually scratched.

Yup. From page 9 of the manual:

1. Remove the thin plastic film from the detector screen. Make sure the screen is free of dust and fingerprints.

If i was looking to Minelab to take care of it I'd leave it and see how they want to proceed.
