rvpopeye
Very impressive work for a newb ! You might be a "natural" ? What would you be spending that propane money on if you weren't having fun doing these ?

My impression is he has been doing metal work & forging for quite a while. He makes good quality picks. While his crevice scraper is a work of art it seems quite elaborate for a simple tool. Nice work though Dave. D4G

Dave told us in the first sentence in this post.(which has more of his sweet lookin' creations) I agree Dave has skills.. One of those "naturals" no doubt ! 😎 I'm wondering what he'll be making after 20 years of experience ? 🤔 Dave Please don't tell us you learned on U toob ! 😉 2
davsgold
It's true, I have worked with metal most of my life, well a fair bit of it anyway, I'm a boilermaker by trade, I think it's now called "engineering fabrication" or something. I have only much more recently been forging metal using an LPG gas forge which I built, so in a sense yes a newby at this Blacksmith stuff for sure, but a guy that has been a Blacksmith for most of his life is helping me with how to do things and what works and what don't I made a fireplace tool stand along with fireplace tools which I also made, so I am trying to made all kind of things, most seem to work out ok, it maybe beginners luck. finished with a coating of bees wax while hot to give the steel some rust protection sitting in the workshop cleaned up the three fireplace tools, and I still need to make the broom tool before the finishing coat of bees wax on the stand cheers dave 3
