LipCa
Looks like pennies are worth 1.4 cents. http://www.coinflation.com/coins/1909-1982-Lincoln-Cent-Penny-Value.html You save them and I'll give you 1.1 cents
Rick K - First Member
I thought this was a high-class forum. These days it seem to be full of trash talkin' sad
brogansown
I feel better now. Thought I was the only guy digging up loads of trash with only a nugget every once in awhile. If Steve's trash to treasure ratio is that stilted, there is hope in our future.
Steve Herschbach
I am glad it made you feel better because that was the goal. Way too often all we see is a picture of the gold or coin etc. with no context of how much junk got dug to make it happen. It does lead to unrealistic expectations for the new people looking at the forums. I can cherry pick with the best of them when it comes to coins but if you want gold you are going to dig a lot of stuff that is not gold.
Mike Hillis
I thought I'd see more wire in the prospecting pile. What a load of bobbie pins came up off the beach! HH Mike
fredmason
Those pictures do not encourage me to head to Coronado with my GPZ....I will have to be careful of military stuff as well as millions of bobby pins... fred

mn90403
I like bobbie pins on the ocean beaches. It means lots of people (girls) have been there in the past and were concerned about their hair. When they care about that they wear jewelry! I don't dig them with the 3030 but when I was hunting with the 5000 on the beach it was one after one after one. And once in a while a good score! The guy I know who finds more good stuff than any other still digs big holes at the beach and lots of them but he uses a Surfmaster PI. I'm not that strong. Hard Prospector
Whenever beach detecting, all of my trash goes into a small mesh divers "goody bag" attached to my belt. That way the garbage I've taken out of the sand is there on display for all to see (especially rangers)
