Drug Cartels In Plumas National Forest

Pretty disgusting that all this happens to our beautiful forest. the garbage, chemicals, etc. and they get mad at Loggers and Miners?  I thought trinity and Mendocino countys were the worst. but I think it is about any forested area in the U.S. that has a good growing season , free sunshine, free water. ill have to keep my eyes open next time im hunting out of Portola.

I live in Portola.  It is not so much at this end of the county. But the western end and foothills. Where it is more rugged and remote and little lower elevation.  Have no use for this ruining our forests.

Siskiyou County has more than our share of this sort of thing also. I always carry when I am out and about prospecting or just exploring. You never know what you are going to run into or when.

 I haven't seen an actual pot farm, but I have found at least three different irrigation systems while out detecting on the West side of Plumas National Forrest. I immediately left the area and reported my finds to the County Sheriff. Needless to  say, I was very nervous until I reached the safety of my vehicle.                       Pay particular attention when you are in an area that has running water for black plastic pipe. They always try to hide it, but usually don't do a good job of it. If you see some, just leave the area.                                                      Be safe out there Norm
