Thanks Jen and Steve. It's more been said about this detector on here than any other forum.

Chris I want to thank you too for the added info. If that don't get your interest then nothing will. I wonder who the state side tester was. Any one on here know who it was ?

On MD-Hunter Blog it was talking about how much money Minelab was making and I say so what. You have to look at the time and a lot of money it takes before any detector comes on the market.. I like other detectors and I have them but you can't find another nugget machine that will out do Minelab. Don't get me wrong I still think they cost too much. The thing is if you want to run with the big boys you got to pay the price.

A lightweight, rain-proof, automatic detector featuring a discriminating, deep all-metal mode and new ultra-wide dynamic range VLF technology that, quote, "has proven itself to out-perform all other high frequency competitors in mineralized ground conditions." With all that and two coils as standard for US $799...folks, this will definitely be my new go-to VLF gold nugget detector.

And Steve, looks like you were spot-on about the placement of the headphone jack - a brilliant bit of deduction!
