Old Pick And Decorative Item

Hi All

while detecting fro gold came across this old diggers pick and one decorative item sure not ruby just some kind of plastic.

I think your red glass item is from an old stop sign or railroad crossing sign. They used to have these all over the sign like a reflector so they would stand out in the dark. I've found a few myself.

I tend to think its some kind of decoration on a blouse/shirt.

Found deeply in goldfields not sure they had stop or crossing sign there.

 

Could be wrong.

Looks similar like an old time license plate reflector off an auto or motorcycle.
