yep, I well remember 2 hours digging through calcrete with two of us taking turns on the chisel and lump hammer.

Almost went through a box of bandaids with claret leaking from every finger.

The good thing with a signal in calcrete is you know it's gold. The lottery is how big

That's when I go back and get one if my Milwaukee battery powered rota hammers! I guess I got it even easier, now only if I had the time to swing.

yes the whole hill there was like that. There was the odd pocket that was just soft dirt

mostly it was like concrete!

I had a giggle at watching the three stooges again ( funny buggers at times )

flyspecks in the orange, saying its gunna be a 3 ouncer

hobosgold ( johnny ) needs to wear a hat!  He didnt bleed too much.

mike said it turned out to being 8 grams

Helen ( johnnys wife ) did a great job with the filming.

 This detecting business is a lot of work. I can remember one time last year that the ground was so hard that I had to put a smaller bucket on the excavator.

Not necessary. Just convince him the target is a nugget (of any size) and an excavator would just get in the way.
