You have more fortitude than I do, Strick!  I don't think I could let it sit there not knowing the maker, how old, etc.  LOL!  The art deco stuff on the side view looks vintage 1920's to me.  Awesome!

Excellent finds!  I have found only one silver dollar.  It was one of my first finds with my first detector back in 1980. The coin was in a small patch of grass in front of an old hotel.

A dollar was a days hard wages back then so you can bet they were searched for if the loser realized it was gone...

Yep This is my only one as well. Found a few Eisenhower dollar coins but those don't count. Ironically I found an Eisenhower dollar coin and silver pendant in the tot lot at this park the first time I hunted it and that one of the reasons I went back. Thanks for looking !
