Popular Post brogansown
We were out a couple of days ago and detected these nuggets with the GM 1000. Temperatures were right at 32 degrees and the ground was wet and slightly frozen in a few places. One of the guys got a 6 gram nugget. My Gold Bug 2 is in for repair, so I was using the Gold Monster. It is more sensitive than the GB 2, but certainly more difficult to handle. The signals are not as friendly and the chirps on every blade of grass is annoying. But you can get gold with the Monster. 15

Patrick in Havasu
Try turning down the sensitivity and those chirps should go away.
CH297
Hi, Have any of you guys experience difficulty in locating a target when swinging the dirt with your hand over the coil of the GM. My machine register a signal even if my hand is empty, I now have to use a plastic scoop with the dirt makes it awkward cause when you transfer the dirt to one hand you then have to put it back on the plastic scoop to double check. Goldseeker5000
Its too sensitive to use your hand over the coil. Have to use a scoop. Period!
Steve Herschbach
Any extremely hot VLF will detect your hand which is why scoops came about. The White’s Goldmasters and GMT, Fisher Gold Bug 2, Makro Gold Racer, Deus HF coils, and Gold Monster all benefit from the use of a scoop. The fact they hit gold so small just adds to the reason for using a scoop.
