What Is Length Of Equinox Fully Collapsed?

Stuff I do without thinking about it...

The cable where it meets the coil is reinforced against constant bending back and forth. You do not want that to get totally flattened by a heavy weight pressing on top. A shipping trick is to put a “donut” of material around that area. Stuff a spare pair of socks around the juncture of the cable with the coil to keep it from getting squashed flat should somebody put something heavy on the bag.

And be sure nothing pointy can get near the pod LCD screen that could puncture or scratch it.

Being able to fit this in a carry on is going to be great I think.  I'm always crossing my fingers when I have to put my detector in my checked luggage and then hope for the best when I get to my destination.  This will help.  Appreciate all the info Steve!

Now, any advice on what you pack for a travel shovel?  I usually just pack my lesche but I do have a collapsible trench shovel that I could take but it has some weight to it.  I like to mainly detect fields when I travel to the North East and a lesche is less than desirable.  Thanks!

Nope, I don't have a shovel - Lesche for parks, pick for prospecting. Your question would be great for a new thread.

Does anyone know the measurement from back of grip to coil bolt at longest extension?  For us tall guys that hate buying tall man rods for everything for that extra 2".

Ain't no anyones here, just me!

43" from base of grip to end of rod extended to last notch. For what it is worth I am 5' 11" and running at second to last notch in parks. You might notice I have the arm cup moved forward of the end. In theory the arm cup could be moved back, and then the handle slid back to gain even more length for tall people, but it would require modifying the lock tab arrangement.

Thank you very much Steve for the technical information on the Equinox. I only have one more question and that is the outside diameter of the locating pin and are there 1 locating pin on the handle and 1 on the bottom mount or just on the bottom mount. I have an old carbon fiber shaft for another detector and am going to retrofit it for the Equinox,. The lighter the better for all types of detecting and I can post some pics of the modded shaft after I get my Equinox if you or others would like to see how it comes out.
