Can you change the pitch of nickels or just the whole segment?

Im going to do the ole assume here........ but i suspect its like the CTX done with the 5 segments.   Otherwise you will have to take a look at Steve thread on 50 tone pitch which explains a separation you can use.

Thanks for the reply dewcon4414. It sure would be cool to hear nickels as a high tone with most other U.S. coins.  I'm used to mid tones with the AT Pro.

If you're going to hunt for gold rings keep in mind they ring in around the nickel as do a ton of pull tabs and pop tops so if you set your nickels to sound off as a high tone similar to a merc you're going to be digging a ton of trash now along with your targets. 

Just a thought.

I have found more rings in the vdi range of a nickle than anything else

In about 100 gold rings found, only three had the same VDI  (18-19) as a nickle on White's detectors.

The best tone setup for getting really customized is Equinox 800 five tone mode. You can make each of five segments any size you like, and you can assign each segment it’s own tone and volume. To make just nickels at 13 their own tone, you would have to dedicate one of the five segments just to the 13 notch.

Five tone mode can also be manipulated to create four tone and three tone schemes. Pages 46 - 50 of the Equinox Instruction Manual
