Still a big Toyota Cruiser fan but I have to say as a dedicated detecting vehicle my Perentie runs rings around my cruisers.

Economy wise I'm not sure of the figures but I know when I picked it up I drove about 4200 klms home and fuel cost was around $450.00au

For those that don't know a Perentie is basically a Landrover 110 but built in Australia for the Australian Millitary.

Alluminium body with a galvanized chassis and a 3.9 Isuzu diesil truck motor. Fulltime 4x4 with low range plus front and rear lockers.

This works for us. cost a few more $ but you have a nice place to sleep and relax. The kawasaki Teryx 4 sips fuel to the point you dont even notice it. Thee is no wear and tear on the towing vehicle after you get to the hunting grounds.

Does it ride in the truck bed?  Are you allowed to tow triples?

The camper is a toy hauler. The quad goes in there. Really handy.

Here’s mine a 2005 Tacoma Pre Runner with positraction locking rear end. I purchased it new

And drives and rides like a car. Actual miles on it is 14,000 Miles. It’s like new.

would not be good to sleep in unless there was a shell on the back.

Like many of us we started out years ago with a tent and a 4-wheel drive (1973 Bronco) for our prospecting and detecting needs. Now as we have gotten a lot older and we have a desire to be more comfortable when out in the boonies, we have the truck and travel trailer to get us where we will set up base camp and the RZR to get us to our finally destination.
