That's what I'm hoping for.  I've always been able to locate the earring studs, foil, yes it floats away and small lead.  These hits escape me!

I waiting the first gold chain. I glued a pastic mesh in my scoop, these tiny targets catch with sifter.

1 and 2 likely arent shots sinkers.... they tend to come in more around the 4 to 6 range.   That range seems to be more foil/can slaw bits.

Since this was posted, I have determined that most of these hits are a reaction to the ground.  Specifically, the wave patterns in the sand. They are gone when the coil sweeps away the little ridges and do not give a signal in Field 2.  Have seen this with several VLF's in a few lakes here.

Thanks for the up date...I mostly hunt in Field 2 these days in most environments except salt water where I use the beach modes...I still will dig everything that hits solid and loud even 1's and 2's but I've learned to recognize the ground noise as you have done...thanks for your posts.
