Warm Up For GPZ 7000... Some Clarification.

Thanks for the information, just a question on this, when you change between the 3 settings, high yield to Deep, does it maintain this average or does it need to average again??

From your description, "the auto GB electronics require the coil to be moved across the ground to get good averaging data" do you recommend sampling a larger area or just in one spot standing still?

Lee, I am not looking to answer for JP but just a comment. This issue is being made too much of in other quarters. I turn my GPZ on, do the frequency cancel, ground balance, go detecting. It works immediately. No doubt it settles in as the electronics warm up and more ground passes under the coil but I have been able to find gold within minutes of a cold start. What JP is describing is very subtle and most people would not even notice it.

Correct procedure for GPZ 7000 when first starting out for the day after switch off or out of the box....

Switch on detector, adjust Tone and Threshold to suit your hearing/audio delivery devices, select preferred Gold Mode and Ground Type..... then with Quick Trak button "held-in" swing the coil briskly from left to right without scrubbing or hitting the ground and cover as much ground as possible in your chosen location for 5 to 10 seconds, (preferably not swinging over large metal objects), then release the Quick Trak button, you are then good to go. All the people who I have spoken with who are using the GPZ 7000 successfully are following this very simple procedure.
