Video - GPZ 7000 On A Salt Water Beach

Recommended Posts

This shows that a GPZ 7000 can be made to work on a salt water beach, at least enough for a video.

It was not mentioned in the video but the TDI used for comparison was probably run with ground balance off. The TDI is a formidable beach detector in straight up non-ground balance mode.

Great info.  Thanks to the testers :)  I've not gotten down to the beach yet however the video knocks out one question I had.

I'm still a little concerned about salt air exposure to the gpz, considering the way salt affects all the electronics and everything else on my boat. Even good marine stuff can have a pretty short life and being careful is no guarantee against corrosion, I'd hate to throw my $10K detector off its delicate attitude, by insulting it with any performance altering corrosion.
