X35 Or Hf Coil???

Recommended Posts

I have the HF elliptical. I prospect out west (USA) and relic hunt in the Midwest. My question is if I get the new X35 coil, will I get more depth coin/relic hunting than with my HF? Seems my HF does amazing up to around 6 to 7” but no real target ID after that....My original plan was to buy the HF until I could afford a LF for Midwest hunting but don’t want to spend the more money if it isn’t going to make a difference...? Thanks for the help.

Sorry I have not responded sooner. Yes the X35 9 or 11 should have a little more depth. The X35 would be a better coin hunting coil...

Just my own observation but if I could only own one coil personally I would want the X35. There are the LF coils and HF coils but for general all around use the X35 looks to me to be "just right". I am a gold hunter and the top end frequency of the X35 is more than sufficient for nugget detecting. The HF coils are almost overkill in that regard.

now that I have had the 11 inch X35 for a month or so I have to say that it is the best coil so far from XP. I can run it at TX3 way more often that I ever could with the 11 LF. Much more quiet and stable. My finds have been fantastic. I have both the 9 HF and the elliptical and this 11 xx35 fits in so much better especially since we have access to 4, 8 and 12Khz that we don't have with the HF coils. I especially like it in heavy iron as that is what I mostly detect. I have had to switch from full tones and disc or 8 to either pitch or full tones but with zero disc. hearing all the iron is very hard on the brain but once you know to go S L O W and listen carefully things start popping out of the ground that disc was masking. I have used this same settings with the elliptical but (for me) is seem to do better with the 11 x35. I am finding that pitch is better than full tones but it is another learning curve so I have switched back and forth for a while but pitch wins out there too.

I’ve been a long time lover of small coils hunting a new location for the first time.
I’m wondering why none are being made . It could be I’m the first that ask for one . I don’t look to find it at my door anytime soon.
All the relic hunters and one coin hunter in the bunch I can see why I’m sucking hind teat.

When hooking up to charge LED is not lighting up except with feeble glow. Charger cables and
contact were checked. If not lighting up bright do I assume a faulty coil battery?,  how do I know?
      thanks

A friend and I spent a couple days swinging around a couple junk filled ghost towns. I am very familiar with the Xp deus. I had also brought with the new to me Xp ORX. I spent my time swinging both the deus/ORX with the 9 Hf, 9x5Hf and my LF 11x13 coils. I found some good stuff and was really able to put the new ORX to work. I kept the ORX equipped with the 9x5hf coil. Deus with 9Hf coil. Also have my 11x13 on a straight shaft to easily switch to that. These site have been hit hard over the last few years by me and a ton of other people and have seen 3 to 4 large group hunts. Heres a few pics

      Update DEUS 5.21:
This update 5.21 corrects sleep power issues with the DEUS headphones on version 5.2. The DEUS 5.2 can sometimes place the headphones into an unwanted standby mode as they can be turned on during charging, resulting in a slow battery discharge.
