fredmason
I noticed that the coil cover on the gpz is alot different from covers I am accustomed to. My question how are y'all sealing the cover to keep the very fine dirt out of it. Also, what is the best method of removing the cover if that is needed? I got a tracking number for my replacement it should arrive sometime Monday.... being an old drywaller I have heard "the check is in the mail thing" too many times so; I am skeptical... fred
normmcq
Fred I have been wondering the same thing on the cover. Good luck on the replacement!
beatup
It does not look like coil tape will work you would have to use to much of it witch would be a pain to get it off if you did.
Steve Herschbach
Hasn't been an issue for me so far. I took it off once and shook the dirt out. I do not see any reason why tape would not work if a strip was just run over the slotted section where it grips the edge of the coil.
Ken Walls
You could always use silicone or spray the coil with flexx seal. I prefer the flex seal, it seals it and adds protection.
Reno Chris
I pulled a used cover off of one the other day and there was very little in it. Tape or something else would be a good precaution, but its not like the SDC coil cover which seems to let in all types of stuff if not sealed. DDancer
I'm just using wide vinyl tape myself. For me its just habit to keep my coils sealed. Does not have to look good just has to keep the dirt out.
