Battery Reminder

Just a quick reminder for those of us living in areas where old man winter is bringing our detecting season to a close.  Page 8 in the Equinox manual has a “Battery maintenance” note indicating the lithium batteries should be charged every 3 or 4 months when the equipment is not being used for long periods of time in order to keep battery performance from declining.  Don't forget to charge the WM-08 module and the Bluetooth headphones as well.

Another cold weather battery warning - if you are using your detector in cold weather, p. 65 warns that you should not charge the battery if the temperature is below 32F.  This is because the chemical process that occurs when charging a Li Ion cell is altered if the temperature is too low resulting in conversion of Lithium to metallic form which will prematurely lower the capacity of your battery.    It is ok to discharge the battery at less than 32F (in fact the manual lists the minimum operating temperature as 14F), just don't attempt to charge the battery on the fly (such as by using a strapped on power bank) when out in the cold.

Thanks for the invite JW that's quite the offer.  Snow just starting here so works out fine for me.

Ticket purchased just need directions from the airport to your house. ?
