The guy must be tough, 27 kilos and he hold it like it's made of plastic!

Yep, that's a replica.

Reg Wilson missed finding it earlier, only found small gold there.

It's fun to remind him occasionally - - -  :)

Unfortunatelly Kevin is lo longer with us but I had a pleasure to hear the story from him personally. And what story it was.It was in Clunes on our Yearly Miners and Prospecting association meeting few years back.On end of his story he told us when you leave the room I left tool boox next to the exit door.it has 27 kilos.Try to lift it.

We are so blessed to be able to detect in Australia and to hear and meet so many great characters and legends of this hobby of ours.

Thankyou for your stories, passion and advises on all forums you give us.

Stay safe and dig everything.

Ha, that's only one of the big ones I missed. No doubt missed more gold than I ever found.

Dang! I remember when the story came out. But you know what they say, "time flies when your getting old".

Mine will be called the "Foot of Folly" and will be somewhat larger. I wonder if Phrunt would lend me his train detector.

John Hider-Smith found a 35 oz bit about a hundred meters from where the Hand of Faith was found. We were working together at the time, and I watched him dig it up. It was in the same area that I had found only small bits years earlier, and where my good mate Mr Beatty gets a chuckle out of reminding me.

Due to its size and shape, we named it 'The Phallus of Faith'.

Really like staying  at the Golden Nugget in Vegas just so I can go stare at that thing in the lobby show case. My wife says I look like a dog starring a big meaty bone.

Kind of a shame its not in Australia though  for the sake of history, national pride and all.  I suppose money talks no matter where you live in this world.

Hard Prospector, unfortunately it is very difficult to sell big nuggets in Australia. Oops, I must correct myself. You can sell big nuggets here in Australia, but they don't remain here.

For those who may not realize it, Mr. Wilson himself bagged a fish-shaped 98 ouncer named the "Orange Roughie." Nuggets like these are what dreams are made of... HH Jim

The one in vegas is a replica.  I asked one of the security guards.  He told me the owner sold it a while back to buy his basketball team.  All the golden nugget casinos have one i guess.  I was dissapointed to say the least
