Detecting Flathead Lake Montana 1/11/2019

Recommended Posts

You've got some beautiful country up there to hunt.  The finds are a bonus.  Although not particularly scarce, I like that 1954-S penny, the second to last year they minted in SF until resuming in 1968.  Glad to see the MXT (another Dave Johnson creation) still holding its own, approaching 2 decades in operation.

Devilsrenegade, I have a friend there in Polson. It must not be too far away. Allthough it's a big lake?

Best wishes and best of luck to you!

I live in Missoula, about an hour drive away for me. Flathead lake has surface area of 197 sq. mi. The water level is dropped way down every spring to allow for storage of run off from the surrounding mountains. This was my first time detecting there as I usually concentrate on old sidewalk strips, schools and parks in MIssoula.
