Guest
I could not understand what he was saying about the AQ. Was there anything new there that I am missing? This is a fun machine to follow. The only new machine I have seen in a while that looks quite this interesting. Of course as said before, it really comes down to how the iron mask actually works. Or does not work. It would be fun to know what the Iron Mask knob actually controls. One thing I wonder about is why there is no control for pulse width. They seem to have gone so far in the direction of making a manual machine that a reasonably knowledgeable PI person could set to hunt darn near any way they want, yet left off this one thing. A thing that the brains involved in this creation would certainly have known how to add a knob for, but did not. I hate talking about new detectors. Next thing you know there will be an involuntary wallet reaction with accidental credit card slippage.
EL NINO77
The guy explains several parameters of the Fisher Impulse AQ Detector: " 1. Working Impulse on Battery-10-12 Hours ... 2.The extra battery will allow you to work within 20 hours .. 3. Explains functions-and also detector settings .. 4. Values of desing detector and coil, also talk about waterproofness. 5. Speaking of the future, the Fisher Impulse, a specialist for ground search, and the search for Gold ... Next, the fisherman comes to market with two more detectors .... new Match1 and Fisher F55 detector ...
EL NINO77
Thanks ..Phrunt ...I edited my translation, I had to hear it a few times-to be sure: .. yes also mentions the Fisher Impulse detector designed for Ground detection,..... and the Impulse Gold detector... Personally, I think Fisher has excellent and strong team engineers...

Thank you for this translation. It will be most interesting to see how this all shakes out, eventually.

They even overtake our country and our detector Vid's on U-Tube!
EL NINO77
He is a trustworthy guy on his internet site, even in English : http://hobby-detecting.com/fisher-impulse-aq-a-new-pulse-metal-detector-with-metal-discrimination-2019-novelty-first-photos/
Aureous
Seems incredibly obvious to me that for a Gold prospecting version of this detector to be successful, it NEEDS to not only have a quality ground balancing system (tested worldwide), but if it has to be a single channel detector, and this seems to be suggested by the variable pulse delay control, it MUST have a variable sampling speed as well. A 7uS delay seems incredible but the sampling speed needs to be SDC2300-like to make it desirable within that price range. Perhaps the pulse width/sampling rate could be made fully adjustable to allow big coils for deep, large nuggets as well. And on that note, they'd be incredibly dumb to build a machine with proprietary coils and not allow all Minelab compatible coils to be used.....almost all serious detector prospectors will either use, or have a few ML type coils in the cupboard. A huge selling point if they're smart....unless they decide to increase the coil voltage/current to boost the coils field....in which case they WILL need to market proprietary coils.....the wait for more info is stressful lol

It comes down to operator choice. Whether in coils or in settings, the ability to choose makes a difference to my mind. The ability to set your own parameters would make the necessity of more than one version of AQ almost unnecessary would it not? If the idea is to create a manual machine, almost the opposite of the SDC 2300, then the ability to choose would seem a strength. The fella that designed the thing seems to know what he is doing, and Fisher knows how to make good detectors, if they stand out of their own way and let it be what it can be we might have something there. Dying to know how well the iron mask works in real life. A PI that does not force the digging of iron is just about all I would possibly want for how I am hunting at the moment. Till some other scatterbrain idea occurs to me. Thankfully I cannot remember most of them long enough to try them. Delusion and senility are a blissful combination.
