Dealer Sale Steve's Custom Carbon-fiber Shafts For Minelab Equinox!

Recommended Posts

Greetings!

This complete, high-quality, lightweight shaft system for the Equinox consists of:

1). A 35 1/2" long carbon-fiber upper shaft, with four cuff adjustment holes, and one hole for the control-box handle (located in the same positions as on the Minelab upper shaft section). This upper shaft replaces -- as a one-piece section -- both the middle and upper sections of the stock Minelab shaft;

2). A 26" long carbon-fiber lower rod, including spring-button clip (the same lower rods I've been selling for several months).

The following pricing applies to several basic shaft options...

1. Upper shaft section ONLY (no lower rod), regular end cap … $79 plus shipping

2. Upper shaft section ONLY (no lower rod), threaded butt-end and threaded end cap (to allow compatibility with the threaded counterweight system) ... $89 plus shipping

3. COMPLETE shaft system (upper shaft section PLUS 26" lower rod), regular end cap ... $129 plus shipping

4. COMPLETE shaft system (upper shaft section PLUS 26" lower rod), threaded butt-end and threaded end cap (to allow compatibiility with the threaded counterweight system) ... $139 plus shipping.

All of the above shafts can be customized in various ways, per customer preference (rod length, hole locations, etc.) Optional spring button holes (to facilitate use of the lower rod spring button) can also be included in any of the upper shaft options above, for an additional $10 (the button holes are not REQUIRED, on my shaft, due to the strong/secure clamping cam lock system that is used with these shafts, but are available as an optional inclusion).

As alluded to above, an optional counterweighting system is also available for these shafts, to alleviate the "nose-heaviness" many Equinox users have noticed. The counterweight -- short-lengths of carbon-fiber tube, filled with small bags of lead pellets, and which screw into a threaded insert in the butt-end of the shaft -- can either be packaged with a shaft system, or purchased separately later, as an add-on accessory. The tubes are custom-built to each user's desired weight/length, and additionally, the weight of the tube can be adjusted at any time, via access to the internal weighting through a threaded end cap.

Empty counterweight tubes (with the customer supplying the weighting) ... $25 plus shipping

Weighted counterweight tubes (built to customer specification) ... $35 plus shipping

Finally, I have created several documents to provide more detailed information regarding the shaft system itself, including counterweighting and how to choose the right weight for your situation, the "button holes vs. no button holes" decision, etc. I can provide these documents to anyone who requests them, and I am of course more than happy to answer any questions you may have -- either here, or via my email address, at steve@stevesdetectorrods.com.

After an extended period of working to design a superior shaft system, and extensive field testing, I believe that my goal for this complete shaft system has been achieved -- with these shafts providing a high-quality, wobble-free, ergonomically balanced, aesthetically enhanced upgrade to your Minelab Equinox!

Thanks!

Steve

I really like not only the colors but the exterior finish on your rods beats all the others hands down. Perfect mirror smooth finish instead of textured. Nice!

Thanks for the update Steve. I just ordered the complete shaft setup. The lower rods I’ve already ordered will work perfectly for my three coils.

Steve, thank you for your time on the phone with me to hammer out the details.

I’m so stoked  that products like this are available. Your engineering and craftsmanship are excellent.

Best of Luck!

Hi all!

I just wanted to give a bit of updated information; I have Equinox complete shafts (as well as spare Equinox lower rods) in stock, and CTX 3030 lower rods are in stock as well.  Custom counterweights for the Equinox shafts are available for purchase, as well.

In addition, I have placed a carbon-fiber tube order with my supplier, that will permit production of a small, second batch of "colored" carbon-fiber shafts for the Equinox; they will be available soon.

Finally, I'm pleased to announce that I have more of the "Jeff Herke Arm Cuffs" available, for the Equinox shafts, with an optional padded neoprene cuff cover also available for the cuffs.

If you have any interest in shafts, rods, counterweighting, or a replacement arm cuff, please let me know!

Hi all!

I'm back in town after an extended vacation, and have been busily building shafts, and filling customer orders that piled up while I was away.  At this point I have plenty of rods and shafts in stock -- Equinox and CTX, and I do have a few "Limited-Edition" colored shafts currently being completed, in various colors (colored shafts are $20 additional, vs. the standard black).  I also have counterweights ready to custom-build for you, and a new supply of "Herke" black aluminum arm cuffs (and padded neoprene cuff covers) in stock.  If you are interested, drop me a line -- either here, or via email at steve@stevesdetectorrods.com; I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks,

Steve

Just received my order for the Blue Carbon Fiber Lower rod. Wow is it nice! Beautiful color that will make it stand out in the crowd of Nox owners. It’s so nice I want to hang it on the wall as art.

Thank you Steve for the awesome product. Good luck!

BeachHunter --

THANKS for the very kind words, sir!  I am glad you like the color!  Though I may be "biased," I do think the colored tubes look really nice!  ?

I will attach a couple of pictures, showing several of the available colors, for those interested (colors shown are blue, silver, red, blue/black, red/black, and green).

Thanks!

Just an update...

I just received a large re-stock of both black and colored tubes, so if you are interested in an Equinox shaft, now is a great time to order.

Counterweights are also available for the Equinox shafts, and CTX 3030 lower rods are in stock, as well.

***I have also begun making custom Equinox travel shafts, which feature a two-piece upper shaft (instead of the one-piece upper).  I can make each of the three shaft sections (upper, middle, and lower) in any custom length you need.***

***I am also now producing custom "dive shafts" for the Equinox; these can also be made to any custom length, and can be either be a one-piece, fixed length shaft, OR an adjustable two-piece shaft (see the picture below, showing a fixed-length 28" dive shaft, in blue).***

Thanks!

Lower rods for the Equinox, and CTX 3030, are also available -- and I have plenty of counterweights in stock, also!

Thanks!

      Hello All,
It's unfortunate on what happened with White's Electronics, a great American made company.  That being said, I'm blowing out all the following for 25% off.  I won't have these items long, as all of them are great products and well worth the purchase.

Hey All, As many of you might know in the mining/prospecting community, Icon Jim Straight passed away. Jim has been a mentor to hundreds, if not thousands of people over the years. Jim wrote many books, including the famous NuggetShooter's Bible, Advanced Prospecting and Detecting for Hardrock Gold, 3 Hours to Gold and many other smaller books. Jim also over the last 30-40 years was an active writer for many of the major prospecting magazines from Gold and Treasure, GPAA, ICMJ and many more. Without a doubt, Jim will always be looked at as a Icon in the prospecting and mining community. That being said, Jim and I were friends for over 30 years, so I always promised to support, promote and sell his products knowing what they would do for others. I had a recent opportunity to have a limited amount of "Advanced Prospecting & Detecting for Hardrock Gold" and "3 Hours to Gold" books reprinted to hopefully get some in new prospectors hands, as they are a huge help and will not be offered again. Pretty much all Jim's books are out of print and will not be reprinted again. Lets hopefully get the last of these two book into some peoples hands that don't don't have a copy, or would like to have a backup. I promise, you will get some great information out of this book. Below is a direct link to my online store to order this limited copy by Jim Straight. Limited Quantity available - $24.95 + $4.00 US First Class Shipping https://www.robsdetectors.com/advanced-prospecting-detecting-book/ Both books can be purchased from us online or give us a call.

Most of you know me as Gerry in Idaho, a full multi line dealer who is very active with a variety of metal detectors and hunting styles.  Gold hunting with a detector has been one of my favorite aspects of MD'ing for 25 yrs and i have been very successful at it.  I enjoy the challenge of nugget hunting and also knowing a variety of gold detecting metal detectors.  Yes I use, test and know many.  Now that gold is $1700+ an ounce,  I've seen quite a few new names show up on the best metal detecting forum known (DP)and many interesting questions.  Here is where my knowledge will help anyone interested in a gold detector.  Since I use, sell and train customers on all the major manufactures and their more popular units I get to see who actually gets it and learns their detector.  I also know the Pros/Cons, Ins/Outs and +/- of comparable units.
If you would like the most User Friendly, Turn on and Go VLF gold detector under $1000, please call me (Gerry's Metal Detectors) and lets get you the Minelab Gold Monster 1000.  Part of why it is so popular besides its performance is that literally anyone can use it.  So many of my customers who have higher end big high dollar PI's or GPZ, just wants to have a 2nd unit to hand over to anyone who wants to go with them.  Your wife, a visiting relative, the neighbor down the road or even a grand kid can all use this detector.
If you have already owned VLF type gold detectors in the past, then maybe some of you have never had success at finding gold and part of it is you may not be operating the detector properly or the ground balance is out of tune? Maybe the Sensitivity is to high and you get EMI?  With the easiest and most user friendly gold detector out there, the Gold Monster is fully automatic.  No grounf balance required, no adjusting of Sensitivity if you don't know (use Auto) and no having to hear the threshold giving you a headache later that afternoon because the GM-1000 is a silent search detector.
Here is where things can really help you out.  As a well known MD'er dealer of 25 yrs, I have many customers and a few of them are always looking for older units they know and love.  I also have new customers who can't swing close to a $1000 for a gold detector, but might be able to step in at around $500 or so.  If you have an old gold machine sitting around collecting dust (not gold dust) and or you don't really know it?  Well lets talk and see if we can compromise and get you into a new technology Gold Monster 1000 and take your used gold unit in as partial trade?  Now know until you ask and that only takes a phone call and 10 minutes.
Finally, and this goes to all Minelab detectors $500 or up, as a Veteran of the US Military myself, I am proud and feel privileged to work with another VET.  I'll offer you a full 15% discount on that detector and it can be a Coin machine, Water unit, or gold detector, you just let me know which one you want and we'll take 15% off.
Right now the in stock Gold Monster 1000 is $850 (that is 1/2 ounce of gold), but with the VET discount for those who quality, your price is $723.
The GM-1000 comes with both coils, coil covers, headphones and charger.  When you do a cost dollar comparison, you'll then realize another reason why it is such a great sell.
The pics are some success my own customers have had using their on GM-1000 detectors and I take price in sharing their smiles of golden success.
Let's talk and get you going now as summer is here.  Thanks for reading and supporting a dealer who helps promote the hobby in so many ways.
