Steve's Custom Carbon-fiber Shafts For Minelab Equinox!

Recommended Posts

Steve you're killin' me with the camo... 😀

Brilliant. Is that a wrap or molded?

Don't know why camo is so popular with detectorists, but I know why it is with me.

LOL!  Thanks, F350!  🙂

So, why IS it popular with you (I love camo myself, as well, being a hunter since childhood...)

Anyway, as for your "wrap" question -- no, I don't apply a "wrap" to the tube, it's a carbon-fiber tube that is produced with the camo pattern.

I appreciate it, and I'd be happy to set you up with a camo shaft.

NO, it's not a wrap; it will be a carbon-fiber tube produced with the camo pattern, by the manufacturer.

For some background, the way they produce my carbon-fiber tubes is through a process called "roll-wrapping."  In this process, carbon-fiber cloth, impregnated with epoxy resin (this epoxy-impregnated carbon-fiber cloth is referred to as "prepreg") is wrapped around a metal rod called a "mandrel."  The mandrel is chosen based on the inner diameter that is desired for the tube, and the number of wraps of the carbon-fiber cloth determines the outer diameter.  After rolling to the desired diameter, the tube is "baked" in an oven, to harden the epoxy; finally, the tubes are sanded, and then "painted" with a clear coat.

For colored tubes, or ones with pattern such as the camo tubes, the very last layer of fabric that is "roll-wrapped" onto the tube, is of a piece of cloth of the desired color or pattern.  Sometimes, the last wrap is of a white fabric, that is then painted with the desired color, before being painted with the clear coat.  Other times -- such as with the woodland camo pattern, they use a cloth for that last layer that is already printed with the desired pattern.  So, that way, the outer layer of the tube will then show the pattern (in this case, the woodland camo), instead of the regular "carbon-fiber" pattern that we are used to seeing on regular, black carbon tubes.  The tube is then clear-coated, and voila -- a carbon-fiber tube with woodland camo pattern, and a glossy clear coat on the outside.

The cost of the two-piece camo shafts will be the same price as the other colored shafts -- $149 plus shipping for the "standard," and $159 plus shipping for the "counterweight-ready" model.

I expect to have the first woodland camo shafts ready to ship by late June (I'll be away on vacation from about the 7th to the 20th).

THANKS!

Steve

Army and National Guard, '81 to '91. This is more "Real Tree" like but I wore Woodland Camo. Garrett uses ACU, I like that too. Almost had to wear it, and thanks to those that did.

Looking forward to doing business with ya.

So you are waiting patiently for your new GPX6000 machine to be released into your sweaty little hands.  $6000 for this amazing little piece of technology and you're just going to let it lay around in the dirt?  No!  Of course not!  You're going to pre-order one of Doc's Nugget Stalker® Brand covers.  $129.95.  4 pieces counting the removable shade cover.  The entire cover package only weighs 8.5 ounces.

Just like the GPX6000 these covers will be in short supply initially, so don't delay, be the first to get in line. (I will probably bring in 200 by air to get the ball rolling but the bulk of the thousands I have being made will have to come by boat, and that is going to be a long time consuming process because of the boats being so backed up.)  I just read that Los Angeles usually processes 10 freight boats a day and has 2 anchored off shore waiting their turn.  Now they are processing 15 a day and have 35 waiting off shore.

I have several Premiere Nugget Stalker® brand dealers, in alphabetical order:  Bill Southern from Nugget Shooter.com in Morristown, AZ.  Chris Gholson from Arizona Outback, Gerry McMullen from Gerry's Detector Sales in Boise, and Rob Allison from Rob's Detector Sales in Surprise Arizona Nuggethunting.com  Call one of these dealers today and get your pre-order in.

By the way, we have our Nugget Stalker® picks back in stock.  the above Nugget Stalker® dealers have those IN STOCK right now.  These fantastic picks are premium made forged hardened steel heads, ash handles, 24 inches overall, 12 inch long by approx 6 inch wide blade.  Made in the U.S.A. Includes super magnet screwed to the head.  $99.95

      Thank you,

      Doc

Picture is some of the gold I found on a week when I was taking groups to Ganes Creek, AK.  Our good buddy Steve, told me I was good enough to get there and make some money, which I did.
