Steve Herschbach
Hi JP, That’s really great that you get some quality father / son time when you can because as you noted life has a way of really grabbing us in our twenties. Nice to see a post from you also since I know you are an incredibly busy man these days. Best wishes.... Steve H

So Steve, what is it you know he is incredibly busy with? I got a funny feeling when I read that.

Northeast
I reckon JW is onto it - https://outbackprospector.com.au/ But it never hurts to have a decent conspiracy theory floating around ?
flakmagnet
That's what I say, nothing like a good conspiracy theory to keep things rolling - especially because it's not political.

Just life. JP has a business to run and kids at that magic age. We all wish we could just be free spirits out prospecting all the time. Life makes that possible sometimes and at other times we get so busy... and then we usually get a break when we get older but then the aches and pains start! Been there done that and so I was actually just being sympathetic with that mention. 2
Jonathan Porter
I can’t complain about not having freedom, technically I retired at 26 when I went out prospecting full time. So its only been the last 3 years that I’ve been tied down to a regular job and even then I try to keep it as fluid as possible, much to my wife’s disgust sometimes. My issue is when I make more money finding gold than I do with all the stupidly long hours in the shop during the winter months, that’s when its hard to come to terms with being locked down. I suppose at the end of the day the shop provides a consistent income stream whereas gold can be a bit sporadic. 4 3/4 ounce slug from last year Speci with over 100 grams found at 3 feet Nice handful of rough gold found at the start of my annual trip away last year

The fact that they might want to join me detecting is almost unfathomably cool, so the sympathetic mention is appreciated. I was just stirring the forum pot a little knowing the secrecy JP (and you for that matter) undertake testing new ML stuff. Hope the weather lightens up a bit there it looks like its been damp.
