Orx Is On The Way..

Recommended Posts

Calabash my ORX arrived Thursday.  I have never used an XP product before and would be keenly interested in your thoughts on this unit.  I would also be interested in knowing what your best setup for relic hunting turns out to be.

Thanks

I have never owned an xp,  I'm tempted to try one also.  I hear a lot of good things about them, what sends a chill up my leg is the light weight. My aching shoulder would love it. I think it would complement my nox 800 rather well.   Just a tad pricey, I can live with that. I also like the simplicity of the controls.  I don't use a detector full time to be able to remember all the fine tune settings that the deus has. I'll let the guinea people try them out first before I make my final decision. I like Calabash's videos he does in his test garden. I hope he videos it also in his patch of nasty  test dirt he has.  I have to wonder if the ORX was designed to compete with the Equinox?

Deus fine tuning???

Let’s see

disc

reactivity.

Those are the ones.  Disc setting you will use the same one loads of times.  Speed setting or reactivity is easy.  Shift on the fly.  Leave silencer at -1.

Your detect programs can be saved and named on Deus.

Not a hard detector to run.

Hardest part is understanding how the ID system works.  And associated assigned tones for vdi of target.

I’ll watch the ORX videos and read the feedback.  I don’t need one as I have Deus units already.

Reactivity has 123 settings I'am sure the Orx 1 is the same as Deus 2 . Orx 2 and 3 are larger moves up the scale than

the Deus and effect depth.

Coin Fast seems to have a Silencer setting while Coin Deep has  -1 none. My preferred set up is the coin deep program

set up in Coin Fast and saved in one of the empty slots 5 or 6 and lower the Disc from pre set 7 to 5 and Sensitivity up

to 95 if conditions allow.

Thanks🙂 I do like the no frills Deus and for anybody new to detecting it will be great to be away from all the Deus crackpot killer programs and the self doubt that causes.

A friend and I spent a couple days swinging around a couple junk filled ghost towns. I am very familiar with the Xp deus. I had also brought with the new to me Xp ORX. I spent my time swinging both the deus/ORX with the 9 Hf, 9x5Hf and my LF 11x13 coils. I found some good stuff and was really able to put the new ORX to work. I kept the ORX equipped with the 9x5hf coil. Deus with 9Hf coil. Also have my 11x13 on a straight shaft to easily switch to that. These site have been hit hard over the last few years by me and a ton of other people and have seen 3 to 4 large group hunts. Heres a few pics

Only apply this update if your previously connected WS Audio headphones will not pair when you turn on your remote and headset. This update 0.1.1 corrects the loss of pairing between some ORX remotes and the WSA wireless headset. To obtain the ORX UPDATE please send us an email at:

I found these buttons yesterday with the ORX. Two of the buttons were "D" buttons and one was a "V" button. While I'm glad the ORX hit the targets I'm unsure how I was able to tell if they were digable targets. Granted I don't have a lot of hours with the ORX but I'm having significant problems trying to identify good targets. The target ID numbers seem to be unreliable and the tones seemed to be slurred once you get past the iron tone. I'm not knocking the machine but was hoping for some tips on the "how to" of recognizing the "dig me" targets.
I have the HF Elliptical coil and I'm detecting in fairly trashy areas. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks for looking!
Any chance XP will push an update that may help with TID and tones?
