  1. All good this end Fred. All's fair in love and war. I will definitely be taking MY zed back to the beach . Had a great time with it,. thanks for tip walking to the water and away Steve that made the machine a lot quieter. could only run in severe near the water but was able to run in difficult approx 5 meters from the waters edge and sensitivity on 15.There was other detectors there and when I turned up with the zed they were very interested and surprised to see how it went. I asked one fellow where he had detected, so I went back over his ground and got a signal ever metre or so. he couldn't keep his eyes off me wondering what he had missed. I Got approx 50 coins, keys, 3 ring pulls (not sure what sum of the coins are due to the staining and build of growth on them ). minimal rubbish. Dug sum deep wide holes ( pinpointing with the zed was a bit difficult ) will post a few photos when ive got a tally and know what the coins are Cheers ozgold

  2. Hi Steve, I've been selling the universal WR set here and they are very popular. Built in batteries which charge off USB. Long press to turn on, short press to pair, very simple. The receiver unit also has a volume control which is nice, and on max volume you get a little bit of a boost on faint signals. Unlike bluetooth systems, there is no noticeable delay, and no degradation in sound quality. Drawback for some may be the estimated 6hr run time, but the great thing is you can just plug your headphone back into your detector and keep hunting. The drop out issue of the original headphones was quickly sorted by a software update, and the original magnetic contact charging method was changed to a plug in USB. It is now a very good stable plug and play set-up, but most are waiting for the full ear cup headphones from Deteknix.

  3. Be aware! I saw this on eBay today and it looks like a fake to me. But the seller says, "it was an early test unit." One pic Shows an obvious name change and other shows paint peeling off the bottom of the coil. My sdc did not have a painted coil. Hopefully, Steve can confirm one way or another on this unit... I really don't want anybody to get sucked into a scam...

  4. Hit my oldest coin to date with the Fors Relic this morning. 1896 Barber Dime and the coolest crown cap ever! The Fors Relic is impressive in the trash. Too hot to hit the AZ gold fields. This was some Arizona high country relic hunting. HH Dean

  5. Hi Mando, I like your enthusiasm. I would highly recommend you first purchase the book, " Follow the Dry Washers" by Jim Straight. He has the knowledge you need for the area you are in. He lives in Rialto. I believe he is a member of the mining club 'The Valley Prospectors' in San Bernardino. Areas dear to his heart are Randsburg, Coolgardie just north of Barstow, Holcomb Valley, etc. areas you may find yourself at in the future. Knowledge is power and he is a wealth of knowledge.

  6. If you guys would like a gold video on the MX Sport I can shoot it. It does fairly well on small gold close to the surface (kind of like the GMT). It's not as burly as the GPZ, but it also costs less than 10% of it. I'm waiting for the water to warm up before I take it up to the gold panning areas for some water hunting. But at the very least it'll be a nice way to cool off and give the pan a break. The 6x10 would be a better choice for prospecting. There may be other coils in the works, and I may or may not have gone to the coast last week to help test them.

  7. A few people are claiming excellent depth on coins and relics in mineralized ground. The MX Sport is at the end of the day however just another mid frequency VLF and so expectations have to be kept in line with that basic fact. If anyone ever gets around to head to head testing on gold nuggets with identical coils I would bet on performance similar to what one would get from a White's MXT.

  8. Ozgold and Al; please forgive my feeble attempts at humor and elucidation in the same post. I did attempt to answer the questions asked. And to reply without rancor toward anyone...really, I mean no harm to anyone. If ever I do mean harm there will be no doubt...but, why go there. The spoken word is constantly misconstrued...the written word is a hopeless quagmire of misunderstanding and injured feelings. My fault for my humor, it is very dry, unshaken and, according to some, always has an edge. Besides,it is hereditary, my whole family are smarta@#es from prehistory onward. fred

  9. Geez, Al; it ain't your toy... there is one "valid" reason to take my GPZ to the beach----because I want to. Another good reason is to practice finding targets in a salt/iron matrix. I live 15 miles from the beach so that is a lot easier than driving to northern Nevada or W.A. Australia. I have not gone yet because I am waiting for an off shore wind and no marine layer. I do not intend to injure the health of my gpz. I do not lay my detector in the dry sand nor the wet. The detector will never get in the water. So, for those reasons I am in... I expect my patience will be sorely tried by the tiny iron trash so I wont be there long... fred
