  1. I agree with you regarding the new software and coils for the UK market it won't maybe make a big impact as 90% of the detectorist do fields and pasture......but for Africa which is a huge market thats a different story :) RR

  2. No, you cannot legally detect on a mining claim be it placer or lode. The owner receives all mineral rights and you need their permission to detect there.

  3. usaflaginmaine, 'Welcome' to Steve's Forum and also 'welcome' to the excellent Makro line with the Gold Racer. I really enjoy using my Gold Racer, even for non-nugget hunting applications. It is a rather sparky critter that does take a little time to learn and get used to, but the performance of this detector is simply brilliant. Get out often and use it, learn it well, and keep us posted on your success afield along the way. Monte

  4. I think you made a fine choice, the Gold Racer can be squirrely in some types of ground, but it's a hot detector so that is to be expected. I'm liking mine more the more I get out and use it. It's a great "crumber".

  5. Just wondering why I see/hear of so many Tacos and Tundras with rusted out frames or frames replaced under warranty from about 1996-2006 ? Since when does a truck frame rust out after 5-10 years? They usually last about forever I thought. The 4 Runners don't seem to have this issue tho. -Tom V.
