  2. i attended the wedding of one of my grand-daughters at Turner falls, Oklahoma. So, in order to get some prospecting fun into the trip we drove 250 miles to Murfreesboro, Arkansas. The Crater is a few miles from town and has produced thousands of diamonds to the diligent and the lucky. Not being either of those types a I went and played anyway. here are some pics fred

  3. I have the TRX, don`t use it for gold only coins. Use no sound, just vibrate, leave it at high sensitivity and desensitise (with button push) on each target. Doing this tells me if the target is coin size or larger same ID junk, thus stopping the problem of making a messy hole on park lawns. Like its feature of being able to use AAs or 9v too. A time saving tool, wouldn`t coin shoot without one.

  4. I watch every video I can on each detector I've got to learn more about it. I've seen all about recovery speed and separation and that all looks so good. With the power in me and my detector I can notch out anything I want. Now that don't fix what I want I can apply my super power and discriminate it to a unknown place. I watch this one video showing how I can enhance one signal over another so the signal on the ring was more pronounce. I really love it when I see a depth test on one of the detector I got and how good it is. All I've said above was done in a perfect world of detecting. The trouble that I'm having is when I walk out my door to go detect all that perfect went south. Look at any depth test and you will see they check to make sure you don't have any trash around are in that hole. Not one time will you see them throw a hand full of trash in with that coin. I don't care what the size of coin they always check the hole first to make sure it's clean. Now here I dig up a coin but my big coil has trash under it too. Oh my recover speed not so good because I didn't have two nails to put down just right but I do have lots of trash. Another good one showing how to enhance the signal of a ring so it's more pronounce over the trash next to it. This is great but like the ring I found the other day I couldn't see what it was before I dug it up. I know each of you is asking what is my problem. I've come to the conclusion if I don't walk out my door I will be in the perfect world of detecting Chuck.

  5. I'd love to hunt an area like that, maybe Quartzsite? I haven't been there yet. I'm always on the prowl for the "whispers" with my GPZ. Have dug one nice 2oz gold/quartz specimen that was about a foot and a half deep. Deepest target I've dug so far and took over an hour to excavate it. All the other gold I've found has been down about a foot at the deepest and some of it has just been sitting in the topsoil.

  6. There are places in AZ and NV where 95% of targets deeper than a foot or so are all gold. And very little trash. I have to assume there are places in Australia like this too though I've never been there. But in these sorts of areas, any target at 3ft is gonna get dug if it takes all day or an excavator because it's big gold! A detector that could get another 12"+ of depth in all types of ground over the GPZ while maintaining sensitivity would be killer in places like these. It'd be worth the money, pretty much any deep find like that is gonna be a lunker. If there was a way to put an accurate depth gauge on it so I could only dig targets deeper than a foot that'd be even better. Something like radar ranging except underground so we didn't have the size/geometry of the target interfering with depth calculations.

  7. Don't have a pile of dirt there for people to see! BTW, my town doesn't allow detecting in parks and some schools don't allow it either..... check it out first.

  8. Use very small digging tool after its pinpointed and circle the target about 3/4 of the way around it not pulling the plug out, then tilt the plug still connected backwards then pinpoint hole and your tilted plug,if you need to dig deeper yet put down a small towell or rag to put your dirt on when your done put dirt from towell back in hole and flip plug back and step on it, nice and clean that way. Oh yea make sure they allow detecting where your going. Good luck,Rick

  9. I agree that it's a replication, when I was checking around on the coin Paul found, I couldn't find one exactly like it because of the minor differences on a real one and the coin found making me think it was a replication.... but I found the site that Paul posted above and if you read carefully on that site about the real coin like the one Paul found they are indeed blank on the reverse, so the replica coin Paul found does replicate a real one in that regard.

  10. Ah! "Did you get any gold" you ask. Gold is one of the heaviest elements, weighing about 19 times more than water. It is a noble metal and does not easily combine with other minerals and will keep its luster for centuries. Its malleability and beautiful color make it ideal for use in jewelry. Throughout history, gold has been recognized as a store of value. Forgive me. I got distracted. What was your question?

  11. I got one with a VLF (Gold Bug 2) last summer that ran 0.006grams. That is the correct number of zeros.
