I would normally post this in jewelry or coins and relics, but I think the D2 forum is best because I'm testing V1 and a program that I got from @ColonelDan. It's based on Beach Sensitive and it's really good but still in the testing stage due to the V1 update. I first tried it at my small beach but because it's not after Memorial Day I got totally skunked, just some junk. I felt as though I could rely on this program however. Today I went to a larger beach about an hour from my house eager to try the program. I had been fooling around with a Beach sensitive program of my own, but this one seemed better as it doesn't use any filters at all for the most part. This beach is in strong contrast to my little one, the little one has pure white sand with a little black sand mixed in, this one is pebbly and coarse in some places, and others it has red clay mixed in. Got out there pretty early, and my first target is possibly gold. It's a small bezel that was probably on a watch. Got some coins and Hot Wheels, the usual stuff, one of the big things this program does is to make coins stand out and skip many pull tabs. It did its job. I was poking around a palm tree, and got a really nice 93 ID and tone, and to my surprise dug this 1916 Mercury Dime! It's not a D or an S, I was shocked but really shouldn't be, I've found other really out of place coins here. It was probably brought in with the sand. It's all brown and trashed but still silver. Here's the total haul today, not bad, and thanks go to Colonel Dan for his program. I used it beside Relic Reaper even in the wet, and I was impressed at its solid coin IDs. I used the Reaper to check anything that "pipped" in the notches, and even scored 4 nickels. And here's the trash: A few bits of pull tabs that were outside the notch ranges, some whole ones that were also below, and lots of tiny metal bits. Otherwise the same old same old, just well... Better. đ Nice beach day overall! I'm fine with the update, nothing degraded or incorrect in my opinion.14 points

Thanks for your thoughts guys, yes XP are aware some people are not comfortable with the new platform, and I get that. However it needs to be made clear that XP have also received overwhelming positive feedback. Recently I have seen videos where the D2 has clearly been set up to fail, sadly in this new world of social media negativity and drama will get more clicks than positivity. Some have limited knowledge having only used the update for a few days, Audio Response 7, Sensitivity 99, graphic equalizer not working (It is only activated with the headphones connected)......the list goes on. it's a new platform and will take a little time to master. I hope XP can find some middle ground with the next update to keep everyone happy. Once again thanks for your thoughts guys.9 points

Updated to Reflect the Ver 1.1 Update released on 25 May 2023. This thread is an attempt to consolidate dispassionate, factual, and unbiased (pro or con) observations and impressions on the XP Deus 2 Ver 1.1 Update. If you have been plugged into the posts here related to this update, it is obvious that itâs definitely a glass partially full, partially empty thing depending on your perspective and how the changes, for better or for worse, affect the way you each use your Deus 2. People who focus solely on specific types of detecting or specific site conditions with their Deus 2 (e.g., beach and water hunters vs. park coin shooters vs. hot dirt relic hunters vs. gold prospectors vs. those detecting in highly iron or aluminum polluted sites) will each have different reactions to this update be it elation to ho hum to bitter disappointment. And just to be clear, itâs apparent things have changed beyond the obvious added features touted by XP, no denying that. Also, itâs apparent that long time, identified issues that have existed before even ver 0.71 was released have still not been addressed (e.g., micro gold sensitivity, the clock, high target ID compression). Whatâs not clear at this stage is the impact (net positive or negative) of the âunexpectedâ changes and whether the omissions are intentional because XP hasnât figured out the fix or have it prioritized for a subsequent update. My point is, the forum community is better served, at this point, by level headed assessments and exchanges of factual information and observations. Information that can be usefully disseminated amongst Deus 2 users, rather than knee jerk, emotional, and/or over the top proclamations (good or bad) that just stir the pot or satisfy peopleâs hidden agendas. That type of commentary does little to help Deus users nor does it help XP get the useful feedback needed to enable addressing improvements in a timely manner. So if you canât help being significantly biased or hyperbolic in your commentary either because you are an unapologetic XP FanBoy or a perpetual XP basher, please just sit this one out. Also, this is a reminder that Gary Black @Gary XP is a member of DP and drops in to monitor and exchange information with existing and prospective Deus 2 users so if we can keep the discourse civil and to the point, Gary can be a useful resource to shed additional light on what changed with ver 1.0 and a direct conduit back to XP regarding our Ver 1.0 experiences, good and bad, and what else we might like to see that was perhaps broken by or not addressed in Ver 1.0. Have at it. Also, here are links to some useful official information and videos related to the update. V1.1 UPDATE XP would like to express its gratitude to all users for providing valuable feedback following the release of version 1.0. We appreciate your input, and based on your feedback, we are pleased to introduce version 1.1: Bug Fixes: We have successfully resolved the issue of remote control rebooting or WS6 freezing in very rare configurations. Other Improvements: The FE.TID (Ferrous Target display) setting is now enabled by default. If you prefer not to display ferrous target IDs, you can turn off the FE.TID setting. We have made corrections to the SILENCER function in programs P1, P2, P4, P5, and P6. Now, Silencer levels 0, 1, and 2 provide the same rejection as in V0.71, while higher levels from 3 offer better iron rejection. The program 3 SENSI FT uses different Silencer close to V1.0. Notes : - Previous versions 0.6, 0.71, and 1.0 are still available online and accessible thanks to the new updater. - All other new functions and improvements introduced in V1.0, such as Audio Filter, Freq Max, HiSquare audio, Fulltones Offset, fast TID, etc., remain unchanged in V1.1. We encourage you to read detailed information about these features in the documentation below and watch the video by Gary Blackwell. Additionally, we strongly recommend watching the tutorial video below titled "Update Procedure" to guide you through the update process. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback and continuous support! The XP team What's new in Version 1.0: FULL TONES (DISCRI > EXPERT) DISCRIMINATION=TONE BREAK Values below the discrimination level, such as the ground and iron, are now audible without having to lower the discrimination to -6.4. The discrimination setting acts as a "tone break," and the Iron Volume setting adjusts the volume of ground and iron below the discrimination level. OFFSET-FT (FULLTONES > EXPERT) Shifts the audio frequency to the high tone of the first targets with a signature just above the Discrimination level, in order to easily differentiate them audibly from iron: 0=disabled OFFSET. 5=default setting allowing a first level of offset to the high tone of the first non-ferrous targets. 10=more pronounced offset. 40 (max) = all targets above the discrimination level will produce the same high-pitched sound. Full Tones -TONE VOLUME (FULLTONES > EXPERT) Configures the tone breaks and volume levels of 5 conductivity ranges of the Full Tones in order to prioritize certain target ranges. TONE VOLUME (MENU > DISCRI > EXPERT > TONES > EXPERT) Adjusts the individual volume of each tone on 11 levels to attenuate certain target ranges and prioritize others. FREQUENCY MAX (MENU > FREQ MAX) Limits the maximum high frequency used in the multifrequency spectrum FMF to 40kHz, 24kHz or 14kHz for each program. Reducing the Max Frequency improves ground stability and iron discrimination. This also reduces sensitivity to weak conductors (T.ID 25-50) and the ability to accept coins mixed with nails or heavily mineralized soil. For example, program 1 GENERAL coupled with a Max Frequency of 14khz (4-14khz spectrum) is more suitable for locating high conductive targets (silver coins) through aluminum foil, compared to the default band up to 40khz. Note: The frequency shift and auto frequency scan have been moved to the Max Frequency sub-menu. AUDIO FILTER (OPTION > AUDIO) Cleans up the audio and sounds smoother, less instability, particularly at depth, choosing the correct Audio Filter for your search area can gain a few extra centimeters of performance. On clean beaches or clean open ground, higher levels from 2 to 5 will be interesting. In polluted iron environments, lower levels from 0 to 2 will retain enough nuances in the iron feedback to better recognize Ferrous and Non-Ferrous targets. At 0, this audio filter is disabled. HI-SQUARE AUDIO TYPE (OPTION > AUDIO > AUDIO TYPE) This new audio type has a richer and clearer harmonic content than the SQUARE Audio Type and can very often help identify deep quiet targets. In Pitch mode, strong targets close to the coil will be less sharp and softened compared to SQUARE, in order to better identify deep targets without saturating your hearing with close and strong signals. FASTER T.ID The target ID (T.ID) display now updates faster, so that the ID of a ferrous target does not linger on a non-ferrous target. Also, adjust the FE T.ID setting to OFF to favor the display of non-ferrous targets. FE T.ID (OPTION > CONFIG > ON/OFF) FE T.ID = ON: Displays the ID of ferrous targets. FE T.ID = OFF: Will not display the ID of ferrous targets but only targets with an ID value higher than the discrimination setting (even if you keep the Iron Volume). In iron-polluted environments, set FE T.ID to OFF to focus on the display of non-ferrous targets. SILENCER (DISCRI > EXPERT) Now more effective and staggered with 8 levels from 0 to 7. With the silencer set to levels 2-3, difficult ferrous targets displaying a high ID and generating high-pitched tones will be better eliminated. If you want to further improve the discrimination of ferrous targets, consider: - Increasing the Silencer to 3, 4, 5... - Increasing the discrimination level to 8-10. - Use the B.caps reject (rejecting ferrous and large iron capsules) - Reducing the Max Frequency to 24 or 14kHz OTHER Program 1-GENERAL Program 1-General now uses 2 tones and the Big T.ID display mode as default. Its reactivity is slightly reduced from 2.5 to 2 to offer you more performance in general use on less polluted ground. Multi Notch and Ground menu is now available on the WS6 The Multi-Notch as well as the Ground menu with its all-metal mode are now present on the WS6 Master.7 points

I've had a known gold-bearing patch stare me in the face for over 35 years, denying me any semblance of gold under my coil. I've tried my luck there dozens of times, with almost every new detector or coil combo, all to no avail. The place just thumbed its nose at me..... until Monday. I used my 6000 with the 10x5 Goldhawk mono, wound up to Auto 1 in difficult (my 'go-to' setting if soil conditions allow) and I found 2 small bits weighing just .3gm. Then yesterday I went back....just to prove it wasn't a 'fluke'. The result was the nugget in the attached pic.... 3.1gm. Another 2 small bits followed. My Nemesis is now conquered! Anyone else have a 'Nemesis' patch that defies all efforts to pluck gold from? Of all the places here in Victoria that I've tried, this one was the only patch that defied me....but no longer! Sorry but I had to tell someone....just to celebrate6 points

A few initial observations with only about 10 hours of usage: Iron Volume range expanded. I like it because now I can set it to to be able to just barely hear the iron tone. Silencer setting more is dynamic. Not enough hours with it yet to determine if it is a plus or minus for the type of hunting I do, but it appeared to help with the falsing without losing its unmasking ability at a setting of 2 or 3. I like that I can now lower the top frequency for any program. That gives me many more options to target certain conductors. I found the iron falsing in Full Tones noticably better in V1.0. It appeared to me that running a negative Disc lessened the iron falsing even more.5 points

June 11 2002 We all took turns on watch but there wasnât much left on the mountain to sabotage except more of the layflat hose and the tom. We got up and running before noon and Jacob had weighed up yesterdayâs work. We had an ounce. The weather was hot, dry, and dusty. I had to fight the urge to have a cold beer later in the afternoon. We worked the day without incident and the reliable old tom processed 28 yards of pay gravel. Jacob took a look at it and panned a bit of the cons which seemed to be loaded with coarse gold. He said we might have hit a honey hole in the gravels. We sure were hoping so as we all needed to see more gold. After supper we were all sitting around the campfire except for Vern who went up on first night watch. Jacob was in a rare mood and drinking whisky and rolling smokes. He told us he was going to shoot the next hooligan who messed with our equipment. I think he actually meant it but hoped that would not happen. He said he didnât care as he had led a long life and was ready for his time to come to an end some day. I knew what he was talking about as he had confided in me previously but the crew knew nothing. The relic and coin forum has been pretty quiet the last couple of days other than the recent comments on Geologyhounds interesting topic so I decided to post this..Certainly not anything even remotely close to writing home about here but I got around to crawling under a house in my hometown anticipating finding some embossed local saloon and or pharmacy bottles but no luck there. The long and short of it though is that there was plenty of room to detect under the front porch and around the crawl hole. So anyway I lucked onto a little spill of Liberty tickles and a trashed IHP and a few other goodies. The Dates On The Nickels 1886 1902 1904 And 1905 Not Sure About The IHP? Coat Hook? Summary of Issues/Observations Identified Since Public Release of Ver 1.0: Ver 1.0 Silencer Filter Response appears to be more aggressive at the 0, 1, and 2 levels (and above) and step increases in silencer settings appear coarser than the equivalent settings in Ver 0.71 adversely affecting 3-D ferrous/non-ferrous target separation and causing masking even at high reactivity levels. See questions in next section regarding whether the Silencer filter is disabled when set to â0â or was changed from ver 0.71. (Addressed in the Ver 1.1 Update to restore Silencer behavior at levels 0, 1, and 2 to Ver 0.71, Note that Program 3 - Sensi FT retains the aggressive low level Silencer Settings introduced in Ver 1.0) Ver 1.0 Audio Response appears to be amplified over the equivalent settings in Ver 0.71. Deus 2 Micro/Sub-gram gold performance of D2 in gold field mode still significantly lags Deus/Orx Gold Field performance. XP should consider providing a selectable single/mono-frequency Gold Mode factory program in a future update. Enabling mono-frequency adjustments above the current Program 7 max of 45 kHz, perhaps in conjunction with a D2 small, elliptical high frequency coil (see more on that below). Bug (ver 0.71, ver 1.0, ver 1.1) - If the Big TID Display option has been invoked in any mode, accessing the Equalizer from the Audio hot key shortcut (long press of "+" key and then pressing the middle "^" key reverts the display to normal sized horseshoe screen. Big TID can be recovered using the Big TID hot keys (pressing and holding the "+" and the right hand "^" keys at the same time. This does not happen if any of the other audio options are selected or adjusted from the shortcut and if Big TID is your saved default display mode (such as in the ver 1.X General Program), it will return on a power cycle. Anomalous Clock operation appears to still be an issue. XP Needs to update the User Guide to address increased coil battery drain at lower Max F settings. Possible Bug: Remote parameter adjustment locks up after frequency scan or Sensitivity, Reactivity, or other parameter change, requiring a power cycle reboot of the remote. (Potentially Addressed in Ver 1.1 Update to restore Silencer behavior at levels 0, 1, and 2 to Ver 0.71) Odd Behavoir: If you go directly to bone phones as the audio output device, you can only select Square. Go to another audio device, change it to HiSquare and then back to bone phones, and it will then say HiSquare which canât be changed directly back to Square unless you repeat the audio output switch procedure again. Switching a another device to PCM and switching back to bone phones audio is ignored by the bone phones output. It is difficult to tell if the audio is Square or HiSquare when it says HiSquare. (New: Added 6/29/23) Update issues: Various reports of WS6 lockups (requiring battery drain resets) or puck bricks during the update process or during version rollback. (Potentially Addressed in Ver 1.1 Update to restore Silencer behavior at levels 0, 1, and 2 to Ver 0.71) Questions: Is the only difference between FMF profiles used in the base factory programs the Max F setting and whether FMF uses Frequency Addition or Conductive Soil Subtraction or are there other Min F or frequency combination or signal processing differences? Put another way, do similar programs that utilize Frequency Addition or Conductive Soil Subtraction behave the exactly the same if set up with the exact same Max F and other user adjustable settings? Examples include Dive, Beach, and Beach Sensitive at the same Max F or Sensitive/Sensitive FT/Fast and Park and Deep HC at the same Max F and all other parameters adjusted equivalently. This is important information for users trying to determine the most appropriate base program to use for developing custom user program profiles. Is the Silencer filter disabled when set to â0â? If not, was Silencer at Level 0 modified from ver 0.71? (Answer to second question is yes, but ver 0.71 behavior at Silencer = 0 was restored in the ver 1.1 update except Program 3 - Sensi FT which retains the Ver 1.0 aggressive low level Silencer filter) Were Ver 1.0 non-ferrous ID ranges/segments (especially high conductivity TIDs) adjusted vs. Ver 0.71? When will the Go Terrain App be available in all geographic regions? Will it be possible in the future to delete some of the redundant factory programs to enable more custom user program slots? Ability to apply updates and reload/re-program custom user programs via a mobile device or PC interface as an alternative to programming via tge remoteâs limited interface would be a welcome new feature. Expanding the number of Characters that can be used for naming custom user programs would also be welcome. Is a D2 compatible small elliptical coil (or enabling existing HF elliptical coil compatibility with D2) on the table (even if it is not-dive rated) or is that just out of the question as far as XP is concerned? A lot of prospective and existing D2 users have expressed a desire for this popular coil form factor for D2.4 points

Up in NY for a couple weeks and hunting some property that is quite old. This is my first time dirt hunting with the Manti, so I'm playing it cautious and primarily digging good signals and hunting in LC mode. Here are some finds that are pretty impressive to me. I've been saltwater beach hunting up until now, but this is FUN! First and second picture I was hunting near the old house. More newer things but I did find a large cent, can't read any dates on anything. Third picture is a nice old marked button in a field a few hundred feet from the house. This area is where I'm finding more old coins and buttons. No dates can be read so I need to find a silver coin... Hopefully! Trying to post multiple pics off a laptop that I am also learning!! Will post more later as I learn more. Just looking at the pictures as they got posted. They are not in order so the first picture shows some of todays' morning finds. Second to last is from near the house.3 points

I went detecting at a park today the first time since updating to ver 1.0. Very little iron. I used sensitive FT as my base and raised sensitivity to 95, high square tone, audio response down to 3 , no notch. And loved how it did. Very stable. I found these my first silver with ver 1.0 along with coins, pull tabs and usual trash. Even found a 12ga head stamp UMC new club which was made from 1892-1900. So over all a great 3 hour hunt3 points

Spent 16 days in Rye Patch area in Nevada recently using the 6000 for the first time in gold country. Found 3 small nugets the first day, one the second and one the third, this is going to be good! Ha, went dry for the next 10 days and finaly found 2 more day 14 then 1 more on day 15 for a total of 6.8 grams. Not a large amount but found nothing last year in 10 days so I at least beat the skunk. Had 2 days of beat-down rain and one day of un-bearable wind, several days of cold weather but the last 2 days were beautiful. Met a few good folks also prospecting, alwasys fun to talk with them about finding gold. Good luck to all in your search.3 points

Thanks Ogliuga, I think that since so much has changed with the operation of the D2, we all need to take a step back and focus on what we need to do to get the most out of the new settings. These were logical and well-considered changes for the most part, and the time it took to get them right was considerable. It took me a year to get comfortable and confident with the previous version, so why would I think updating and adding features would make me able to walk right out the door and find more gold? But that is exactly what happened. In 3 hunts (two short, one long) I have found two gold objects. đ¤ I have no idea why, but for sure the D2 is finding me more. Gold. We should all get together here and take an objective look, and I think that is happening. I am pretty confident that anything I'm missing from V0.71 is still there, it's just a matter of finding it or tweaking some of the new defaults to bring it back, if that is even necessary. Only time well tell, same as it ever was. I am sad that our prospecting friends are disappointed that XP did not fully address their needs, as I see it the Deus 2 was intended to be more of a beach and relic machine anyway. I've written it before that if Swiss Army knives have too many blades and gadgets, they become too cumbersome to use. The D1 and ORX both seem to be more geared to relics, coin shooting and prospecting, and they still make and sell them. All I ever asked for was a 10x5 elliptical. đ¤Ł3 points

I'll add that this is V1.0. It's fine to bring up perceived problems with a new release and there will obviously be more updates to address real problems, but for me V1.0 is a big step up. I can live with learning the changes and making a work around if necessary. That's what detecting and life in general is all about. Nothing will ever be perfect for everyone everywhere. So if V1.0 isn't working for you, maybe take some time in the field to learn it thoroughly and then make your assessment, and like Chase said, you can always roll it back to V0.71 and use that until another update comes out. Meanwhile, I'll keep exploring V1.0 and figuring it out as much as I can and enjoy every minute of it! đ3 points

I'm quite a few hours in, but I been noticing the depth indicator often gives me three arrows on coins only 3 inches deep. I pulled this one out of an old park this weekend, really boarder line jumpy signal, could have been anything, but it was this thin Canadian dime at about 9 inches. I'm not sure if my digger did the damage on the front or not. âšď¸ AT gen sens 27 (normally this park has an enormous amount of EMI)3 points

Hi-Square 1.00 vs old Square 0.71 in pitch tone: - In hi-square more information is now heard in an iron tone. And how deep the nail is in the ground, size, shape, etc. - In hi-square there is less dynamics and amplitude in the pitch tone. It is more difficult to determine the depth of the target - for this only the speed of the sound response. When digging to the surface, the signal can be even quieter than in the ground, as strong sounds are muted by the algorithm. - Because of the differences in the first two points, it's a bit more difficult to distinguish between iron-mixed targets and iron-falsing. Now in hi-square we either trust the algorithm and dig everything. Or we listen to how stable the pitch sound is and decide to dig based on its behavior. - The new pitch hi-square is more comfortable for long time use. You can walk for many hours without feeling discomfort in your ears and brain.2 points

Quite a bit has changed, Glenn. With a couple of hunts so far, I can tell that the Silencer is more aggressive, the silver range seems to have been expanded so TIDs are different, Audio response is more aggressive as well, pinpoint seems a little more accurate and doesn't blow your ears out, you can now set the volume level for each tone segment even in Full Tones, you can turn the Iron TID on or off, High Sqr Tones has been added which is awesome, of course you know about the top Frequency can be set at 14K, 24K, or 40K for any program except Deus Mono, they added an Audio Filter to smooth out spikey high tones. The main areas I had to change were the Silencer, Iron Volume, and Audio Response. I've been experimenting with the Frequency Max settings as well.2 points

I never rely on separation static tests , because they are not reliable for me . As I already said the results from the field can be opposite from the static home test results . For example a Vanquish is better than a Deus on the separation test I did at home , where it is obvious that a Deus ( 1 or 2 ) outperforms a Vanquish in the irons in the field . Long story short I only trust field tests for separation assessments .. At least 10 or 20 hours in the field , then not only a 2mns video in a kitchen ... đ I havent done the V1.0 update btw , too busy at work for the moment ... I will post my results as soon as I have them2 points

June 10 2002 Part Two When I got back to camp Jacob was finishing up the gold weigh and had two ounces in the pan. I told him what had just happened and he was real upset about the situation. We had managed to process 25 yards before being sabotaged. Vern and Jim eventually came back down to camp and then Vern and I took the steer back up to the pump. We put it in the bucket of the steer and hauled it back to camp. There was nothing left to do but haul the pump into town to have a mechanic look at it. When he did he said he might be able to get it running with new parts but we were probably better off to just buy a new one. So we placed an order for a new pump and left the old one at the shop for the mechanic to look over. We still had the smaller pump and extra hose at camp. By now it was past 5:00 PM and we decided to call it a day. Weâll set up the old pump and replace the bad layflat hose in the morning and get a fresh start. This is a semi in the ground test on a 0.1 gram gold nugget for anyone that would like to use one of the "do it all" simultaneous multi frequency VLFs for gold prospecting. For the "fairness" police, please don't complain about coil sizes. The smallest coil available for Deus 2 is the 9" coil. So blame XP not me. XP include a simultaneous multi frequency "Gold Prospecting" mode on Deus 2. I would like to use it. This video shows why currently I will not use it. Video starts with checking the test area ground for targets, ground balancing, showing the target and how it is placed in the ground and then the test begins. Deus 2 uses customized FMF Goldfield and customized single frequency Mono program both with sensitivity on 95. I wanted to use the Hi Square audio, Pitch tones and the absolute zero discrimination for both programs along with a slight threshold. That is why I did not use stock default programs. All settings are as identical as I can make them except for the new Audio Filter feature which is on setting 1 for FMF Goldfield custom program 16 and it is on 0 for 40 kHz Mono custom program 15 which was an oversight failure on my part. I did retry it after making the video with FMF Goldfield custom program having Audio filter on 0. It made zero difference. Legend starts at 3:25 of the video. It uses its 6" coil with sensitivity on 23 in Gold Multi and Gold 40 kHz. Equinox 900 starts at 6:00 of the video. It uses its 6" coil with sensitivity on 23 in Gold 1 Multi and Gold 1 40 kHz. All settings are clearly shown in the video for each program being used on each detector. The ruler sticking up out of the ground behind the target is 5 cm high and the target itself is 2" deep or roughly another 5 cm deep. Legend and Equinox in the Gold Multi modes can hit this target 5 cm above the ground. They can hit it at 4 cm above the ground using single frequency 40 kHz. Deus 2 using its 40 kHz Mono program also hit this target at 4 cm above the ground. We could debate about whether Deus 2 in FMF Goldfield is actually hitting the target even with the coil bumping into the target holder. Deus 2's mineralization meter is between half and 3/4th full so moderate to high mineralization which all three detectors struggle with when ground balancing in selectable single frequency 40 kHz. This video is being sent to XP. I sent XP an email and they replied within 24 hours which I really appreciate. Thank You XP!!!!! This is the email exchange between me and XP: HI Jeff Thanks for this feedback. Yes you have right the 40khz of the DEUS II would perform very well if available also in the gold Field Program, as the mono frequencies from the DEUS II are more powerfull than DEUS 1. We will think to make this availabe in the next version. Regards XP TEAM Message : XP, thank you very much for the Deus ll software update version 1.0 and for making it Mac compatible. I am a gold prospector. I use VLF and Pulse Induction detectors. I use a VLF detector for detecting the smallest bits of gold in the 0.5 gram and much smaller size range. I have used Deus 1 and ORX for this. They work very well in their Gold modes. I would like to use Deus 2 for gold prospecting. However, even after updating to version 1.0, Deus 2 FMF Goldfield sensitivity to very small gold nuggets 0.5 gram and smaller down to 0.01 grams is extremely poor. Deus 2 Mono or Fast 40 outperform Deus 2 FMF Goldfield on these types of targets by up to 5cm. One of my test nuggets is 0.08 grams. It can only be detected using FMF Goldfield at 3cm. Fast 40 and Deus 2 Mono will easily detect this same small nugget at 8cm. Being able to use FMF technology in highly mineralized gold prospecting areas would be really beneficial. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, FMF Goldfield's insensitivity on small to very small bits of easily detectable gold using Deus 2 Mono is still very disappointing.1 point

Some of my best finds were from under houses, especially houses that were removed except for the foundation. Lots of coins and marbles end up down the floor heater vents. Really like your cigarette packet find. Sold a log cabin beer can I found under a house in the 70's for $50.00 bucks. Lots of money back then. Now it's worth $1000.00. Gotta love that old stuff. Nice finds!!! GaryC/Oregon Coast1 point

Great finds! I am with CPT I have a habit of running into the most dangerous critters when I do the crawling thing. Snakes seem to like me â the rattling kind.1 point

I know that for me, it's always an expensive lesson to learn what I like and what works - for me! You can read forums and specs, watch videos and other research endlessly, but in the end, it comes down to trying something out for yourself. This is the way it is for all of my hobbies. Buying and selling until I find what fits. To that end, I wouldn't sweat the deal you made. You may find that you love the current detector, or you may find that it isn't the one that works for you. In that case, sell and buy again. In the end, you'll probably lose some money but at least in my opinion, it's worth it to find the machine that is right for you.1 point

Mark, I guess I am not alone in the quest for TDI coils. I noted several sites sold out of these coils and coil covers. I am looking for a 12" coil for my TDI SL. BTW, which company's coils are compatible with Whites TDI? I have heard that Minelab and Detech coils are compatible, but I have no solid proof. Michael1 point

I decided to hunt the woods of the property where I work. Iâve probably mentioned this before, but the property dates back to the early 1900s as a resort/vacation destination for folks coming up from the lowcountry area of South Carolina to the higher, cooler mountain air of the NC mountains. I was hitting the occasional shotgun headstamp when I came upon an area with a ton of iron signals. The old lock was about 12â deep and was ringing up like a silver half. Also found were two old pocket knives, part of a kerosene lamp, a button (probably from bib coveralls), various shot shell headstamps, a junk ring (probably more modern than the other finds as this area is pretty close to a walking trail), a clad dime and copper memorial. The 1903 dime was found on property about a quarter mile away from the other stuff. I also found a 3 merry widows tin near that dime.1 point

The only time I use tracking is in a place where I cant get a good auto GB that last more then 5 minutes..usually that is at a beach with lots of black sand or in highly mineralized ground. For most of my park hunting I'll stay in Auto GB and stay away from tracking. I don't usually do a manual GB but should give it a try. strick1 point

I listen to the tone in prospect audio, then I dig everything that stays on the center line as long as the tone is "clean", no iron grunt or elongated as you say. This is tough if you're inland in a trashy area. If I hear a clean tone 2 directions and it's on center.....I dig. (on my beach) Pull tabs are a problem, even with this method. Sometimes if it's 26 to 32.....I pass and don't dig if I'm feeling lazy. đ Yea, I always GB myself first. Just a thing, I want to watch the #'s as it locks in. Makes me feel like it's "correct".1 point
