	The QED Metal Detector was first released in late 2016. It was known as the QED PL1 and had only three control buttons on the forward mounted control box. Mid 2018 saw the release of the improved current version, the QED PL2. The QED is a ground balancing pulse induction (GBPI) metal detector aimed primarily at the gold prospecting market. <u>The QED is currently only available for sale in Australia</u>.

<p>
	<em>"The QED design philosophy was to “to create a performance competitive detector at a realistic price for fellow prospectors”. The result is a single channel Pulse Induction metal detector that’s very well priced in relation to its competitors and has the performance to match the current tier 1 metal detectors of all other brands; you can swing it all day without a harness and bungy and the supplied LiPo batteries last all day."</em> Source: <a href="http://www.qedmetaldetectors.com.au/" rel="external nofollow">Interfacion website</a>

<p>
	The White's Sierra Gold Trac (SGT) metal detector was introduced in 2013 and was still in production when White’s closed up shop in 2020. It is a 48 khz induction balance metal detector aimed primarily at gold prospecting. The SGT is a stripped down version of the <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/whites-goldmaster-gmt-r34/" rel="">White's GMT</a> in that it only has two controls and is locked into full time ground tracking, but other than that it has all the power of the GMT for half the price. The SGT had an MSRP of $599.95 when introduced in 2013 but was discounted to $499.95. It was temporarily discontinued but revived in 2018 with a new price of $399.95.

<p>
	The Fisher Impulse AQ Ltd is a new pulse induction (PI) metal detector that saw limited release beginning in June 2020. Production is to be limited to 99 units, with about 30 made by December 2020. The Fisher Impulse AQ is the first of a planned series of new pulse induction detectors from Fisher Research. The AQ (AQua) is a waterproof model intended for beach and water hunting. Pulse induction technology offers extreme performance on highly mineralized beaches that inhibit the depths attainable with VLF metal detectors.
</p>

<p>
	The Impulse AQ has been released first as a limited production model (less than 100 units will be manufactured), <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/forums/topic/12736-fisher-impulse-aq-limited-launch/" rel="">the Impulse AQ Limited</a>. This machine has a depth rating of three feet and a NiMH battery with running time of up to 3.5 hours. The battery is attached by an exposed cable that is the main cause for the 3 foot depth rating, and which must be handled with care. The Fisher Impulse AQ Limited is being offered for a short time to enthusiasts who understand and accept these limitations, at a very attractive price. Development will continue on a <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/fisher-impulse-aq-r144/" rel="">future release with a deeper waterproof rating and longer battery life</a> in a more robust physical package, but at a higher price.
</p>

</p>

<p>
	The Fisher Impulse AQ offers excellent depth and superb sensitivity to gold jewelry - the machine is highly optimized for finding gold rings in particular. The most anticipated feature is discrimination better than that currently offered on any other pulse induction metal detector. The discrimination is focused more on high value gold rings than coins, and may actually exclude many coins if enabled. This is not considered a problem for many serious beach hunters as a lot of time is wasted recovering coins under difficult conditions when gold rings are actually the desired target. The compact waterproof design and relatively light weight is also attracting attention. <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/fisher-impulse-gold/" rel="">Other Impulse models</a> are expected to be aimed at gold prospectors and possibly even the relic/coin detecting market.

		GROUND TRACKING - Along with automatic and manual ground balancing, NOKTA FORS CoRe metal detector also offers ground tracking which tracks the changes in ground and automatically adjusts the ground balance to suit. The visible or invisible changes in ground affects the detection depth as well as the discrimination ability of the device so you can improve the performance of the device by activating this feature on suitable ground.
	</li>
	<li>
		DIGITAL TARGET ID – ID MASKING - When NOKTA FORS CoRe metal detector detects a target, it displays the target ID on the screen and gives you an idea about what the target may be. ID Masking, on the other hand, enables you to search by ignoring unwanted targets. It provides ease of use by rejecting hot rocks and metals such as iron and foil.
	</li>
	<li>
		DUAL LCD DISPLAY AND GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE - FORS CoRe has 2 LCD displays – one on the system box and one on the handle. Dual LCD display and graphical user interface let you easily adjust the settings and see all the information you need on the screens. Once you adjust your settings on the LCD panel located on the system box, you can follow most of the information on the display in the front. This way you don’t need to go back and check the LCD panel constantly. This provides great comfort during searching.
	</li>
	<li>
		ELECTRONIC PINPOINTING AND DEPTH INDICATOR - With NOKTA FORS CoRe metal detector, you can easily pinpoint a target with just the push of a button. As the target is approached in the pinpoint mode, the signal tone will get stronger and change in pitch and at the same time, the depth reading will appear on both screens. Pinpoint feature will save you digging time and enable you to reach your target faster.
	</li>
	<li>
		VIBRATION MODE - Designed with the hearing impaired in mind, FORS CoRe achieved a first with the vibration feature. Vibration feature is also ideal for users who do not want to use headphones in outdoor noise such as wind or waves.
	</li>
	<li>
		BUILT-IN LED FLASHLIGHT - FORS CoRe built-in flashlight offers great convenience by illuminating the scan area when searching at night or in dark. You will not need an external illumination device.
	</li>
	<li>
		EASY USE AND ERGONOMIC DESIGN - FORS CoRe is impressing not only with its electronics and software, but with its ease of use and ergonomic design as well. With its easy access settings, its widest scan design and its ergonomics which will not exhaust you during prolonged searches, FORS CoRe is an indispensable detector for all detectorists.
	</li>
	<li>
		LONG BATTERY LIFE - FORS CoRe works with 4 AA Alkaline batteries that can easily be purchased anywhere and provides approximately 25-30 hours of use. You can also purchase the optional rechargeable batteries and the charger and charge your batteries at home or in your car.

<p>
	The White's DFX was released in 2001 and replaced by the DFX 300 (same detector with larger coil) in 2008. The DFX series was discontinued in 2012. The DFX is a VLF metal detector aimed primarily at coin, jewelry, relic detecting, and saltwater beach detecting. The White's DFX is a multifrequency detector that can also run at one of two single frequencies: 3 kHz and 15 kHz.
</p>

<p>
	<em>"Here it is. The finest all-around metal detector. DFX™ is simply unsurpassed in its ability to find treasure - older, deeper and smaller items that other detectors pass over. DFX™ brings together the ultimate combination of sophisticated microprocessor technology, and turn-on-and-go simplicity. You’re out and hunting right away, but there are dozens of adjustments available if you choose. White’s patented multifrequency method partners with the target I.D. you get only from DFX. “See through” minerals in the ground and detect coins, jewelry and relics other detectors miss. Hunt in 3 kHz or 15 kHz (the two best frequencies for finding treasure) or use both together for unequalled hunting. Choose Best Data and the DFX™ displays data from the most reliable frequency. Choose Correlate and questionable targets, including iron, are rejected. All happening automatically while you hunt! There are dozens of features that come together in the DFX™ to create the world’s best metal detector. It’s built on White’s proven digital platform, with the features that give you more flexibility to find it all!"</em> Source: <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/files/file/127-whites-2006-metal-detector-catalog/" rel="">White's 2006 catalog</a>

<p>
	The White's TDI SL Special Edition metal detector was introduced in 2018 and was still in production when White’s closed up shop in 2020. The last variant was called the TDI SL High-Q, the same detector described here but with a new White’s manufactured coil. The SL is a pulse induction (PI) metal detector aimed primarily at relics, gold prospecting, and beach detecting. The TDI SL Special Edition is a variant of the <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/whites-tdi-sl-r36/" rel="">White's TDI SL</a> and according to White's available for a limited time only.
</p>

<p>
	<em>"The TDI SL Metal Detector has pulse induction power that provides unbeatable depth and sensitivity in its price range. And now the deal is even better. More than a new paint job, this Special Edition features key changes to the TDI platform aimed at serious prospectors. First and foremost, this detector ships with an 8 x 12″ Miner John Designs Folded Mono search coil. This choice was made to give gold prospectors better depth on large nuggets, but also increased sensitivity to small specimen gold that other pulse machines might miss. We also swapped the intermediate and lower shafts to create a streamlined “straight shaft” configuration preferred by gold hunters. Finally, to top it all off we revamped the control box with a desert tan paint scheme ideal for hot environments. <u>This package is offered for a limited time and at a discounted price.</u> And best of all the detector and coil are Made in America. The rechargeable NIMH battery lasts up to 6 hours, and a backup AA battery back will power all-day exploration. At a weight of only 3.3 lbs, and rugged metal construction, this Special Edition TDI SL is ready for serious prospecting. <p>
	The Fisher Gold Bug DP is a version of the <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/fisher-gold-bug-pro-r14/" rel="">Fisher Gold Bug Pro</a> metal detector that was introduced in 2010 and is still in production. It is a 19 khz VLF metal detector aimed primarily at gold prospecting, relic, jewelry, and coin detecting. The Gold Bug Pro has been a very popular entry level gold prospecting detector. Note that the Fisher Gold Bug Pro normally comes with a non-standard 5" round coil. This is good for nugget detecting but too small for most common uses. The Fisher Gold Bug DP is simply a Fisher Gold Bug Pro that comes with the 7" x 11" DD instead of the 5" round DD coil.
</p>

<p>
	<em>"The Gold Bug® family has revolutionized gold prospecting with new prospecting tools, Target-ID, incredible depth and all at an affordable price! Its fast retune speed and biaxial Search coils create superb target separation with impressive depth. V-BreakTM, the industry's first Variable Breakpoint tone discrimination system, allows user control of the multi-tone Audio ID system. This feature helps distinguish iron targets with a distinctive low audio tone while non-ferrite targets like gold, induce high tones. Tone discrimination combines with a dead-accurate Visual ID system to give gold prospectors a vital new tool in finding gold without having to dig any iron targets. An expanded 40-Point Iron ID target range helps differentiate between larger iron objects and smaller nails and pieces. The way it minimizes the masking effects of ferrous targets near non-ferrous targets is simply amazing! Coin and relic hunters marveled at how well the Gold Bug® Pro performed with our legendary 11 "DD Searchcoil, and the Gold Bug® DP was bom. Two more unique features are the real-time display of the Ground Phase value and an Fe304 meter that indicates the amount of mineralization present. These features monitor changes in soil conditions to locate and trace black sand concentrations where gold is commonly found. The Ground Balance system handles the toughest of ground conditions, capable of balancing all the way to salt. No longer do you need a specialized detector for prospecting and another for coins and relics; the Gold Bug excels at both!"</em> Source: <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/files/file/20-fisher-2016-metal-detector-catalog/" rel="">Fisher 2016 catalog</a>

<p>
	The White's TDI BeachHunter metal detector was introduced in 2018 and is still in was still in production when White’s closed up shop in 2020. The TDI BeachHunter is a fully submersible pulse induction (PI) metal detector aimed primarily at beach detecting for coins and jewelry. The TDI BeachHunter is basically a waterproof <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/whites-tdi-sl-r36/" rel="">TDI SL</a> and performance is about the same.
</p>

<p>
	<em>"Common VLF detectors, even multi-frequency ones, can struggle in strong mineralization or salt conditions. That’s where the power of Pulse Induction can help you find more treasure! Specially-built for both the beach and the goldfields, the TDI BeachHunter offers extreme depth performance on land or sea. Waterproof to 25 ft, the TDI BeachHunter punches deep at the beach, in goldfields, or even in difficult relic areas like red clay. The adjustable Pulse Delay lets you set the machine up for maximum sensitivity to fine gold jewelry, small nuggets, and hammered coins at depth. Just set your ground balance, adjust your gain, and start swinging! With the dual-tone audio users quickly learn the difference in sounds, and adjustable volume and threshold controls allow flexibility for different hunters’ preferences. At only 5.2 lbs, the TDI BeachHunter is ready for action, and an included hip and chest-mount pouch allows for users to customize the machine to their own hunting style. The included Heavy-Duty NiMH rechargeable battery extends the run-time to about 6 hrs, and the backup 8 AA battery pack means you’re setup for long days in search of gold, silver, or relics. The patented 12″ Dual-Field search coil features two coils in one – a small, inner coil with higher sensitivity to small targets, and larger outer ring that punches deep into salt or other mineralization. Due to the fact that the coil is hard-wired, users may find this model offers increases sensitivity and stability compared to the TDI SL." </em>Source: <a href="https://www.whiteselectronics.com/product/tdi-beachhunter/?lang=us" rel="external nofollow">White's website</a>

	The Tarsacci MDT 8000 metal detector was introduced in late 2018 and is still in production. It is a selectable frequency metal detector aimed primarily at beach detecting at this time but that may find applications in relic detecting and other types of detecting. The Tarsacci MDT 8000 allows the operator to choose between one of four operating frequencies - 6.4, 9, 12, and 18 kHz.
</p>

<p>
	Tarsacci is a new U.S. based company just getting off the ground , founded by Dimitar Gargov. Dimitar worked previously at Fisher Labs and is credited with being a major force in the development of the Fisher Gold Strike, Coin Strike, and ID Edge detectors.
</p>

<p>
	The Tarsacci MDT 8000 is a different detector in that it is employing time domain processing in a selectable single frequency detector. This is in addition to the frequency based phase processing typical of most single frequency detectors, and so the MDT 8000 is being referred to as having multi domain processing, or as the Tarsacci website calls it, Mixed Domain Technology. This means the MDT 8000 has some unique capabilities and operating characteristics compared to nearly all standard single frequency detectors on the market today. The method employed is unique and currently has a <a href="https://patents.justia.com/patent/20190353818" rel="external nofollow" target="_blank">patent application pending</a>.
</p>

<p>
	In particular, the MDT 8000 features completely different controls for handling ground balancing, and also what it refers to as a salinity balance control. Multifrequency detectors usually handle the compensation for ground and salt mineralization as an under the hood process beyond user control. The Tarsacci MDT 8000 gives you the ability to ground balance with one control, and compensate for salinity and other low conductive issues with a separate control. In a nutshell, this unique ability is what makes the MDT 8000 different from other metal detectors available today. See the owner's manual link below for details.

<p>
	<em>"The Tarsacci was developed under the premise of mineralized dirt. There is a wide variance of minerals around the World. As such, performance may be gained (in many cases) with "Black Sand" and/or "Salt" Mode(s) invoked, even if local dirt conditions do not contain black sand or salt. Finding a few deeper targets; then experimenting with the Black Sand and Salt Modes on these deeper targets, can be a real eye-opener. For example: a combination of natural graphite (a form of hot rock) present in mineralized magnetic soil. In this case, find a piece of native graphite. Using the salinity balance function, balance the detector to it: then ground balance the detector. With a proper salinity balance setting, the graphite will no longer exist to the detector and the targets ID and detectability range, in graphite presence, will be greatly improved (unmasking more targets).</em>

	<em>Depending upon local conditions, the Tarsacci can use the conductivity of the wet-salt to enhance overall depth performance. This is to say; there may be cases whereby buried wet-salt performance presents better results when compared to air-test performance. It is also common for the conductive wet-salt to increase depth performance too much; subsequently, lowering the Sensitivity a few points becomes a 'stability' requirement. Remember: The intended purpose of balancing the Tarsacci to "Salt"...… is to generate a condition whereby the Tarsacci no longer sees the wet-salt; unlike conventional detectors that must phase-shift out/compensate for the wet salt. If the Tarsacci sees/uses too much of the conductive properties of the wet-salt, the unit may become unstable; hence, zero the salt via "Salt" balance. Use this function wisely and to your advantage. If the volume of salt becomes too conductive (i.e.: submerged in salt water) it may also become a requirement to lower Sensitivity in order to bring excessive (unstable) depth performance back down to maximum (stable) depth performance."</em>

<li>
		GROUND TRACKING - Along with automatic and manual ground balancing, NOKTA FORS Gold Pro metal detector also offers ground tracking which tracks the changes in ground and automatically adjusts the ground balance to suit. The visible or invisible changes in ground affects the detection depth as well as the discrimination ability of the device so you can improve the performance of the device by activating this feature on suitable ground.
	</li>
	<li>
		DIGITAL TARGET ID – ID MASKING - When NOKTA FORS Gold Pro metal detector detects a target, it displays the target ID on the screen and gives you an idea about what the target may be. ID Masking, on the other hand, enables you to search by ignoring unwanted targets. It provides ease of use by rejecting hot rocks and metals such as iron and foil.
	</li>
	<li>
		DUAL LCD DISPLAY AND GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE - FORS Gold has 2 LCD displays – one on the system box and one on the handle.
	</li>
	<li>
		ELECTRONIC PINPOINTING AND DEPTH INDICATOR - With NOKTA FORS Gold Pro metal detector, you can easily pinpoint a target with just the push of a button. As the target is approached in the pinpoint mode, the signal tone will get stronger and change in pitch and at the same time, the depth reading will appear on both screens. Pinpoint feature will save you digging time and enable you to reach your target faster.
	</li>
	<li>
		VIBRATION MODE - Designed with the hearing impaired in mind, FORS Gold achieved a first with the vibration feature. Vibration feature is also ideal for users who do not want to use headphones in outdoor noise such as wind or waves.
	</li>
	<li>
		BUILT-IN LED FLASHLIGHT - FORS Gold built-in flashlight offers great convenience by illuminating the scan area when searching at night or in dark. You will not need an external illumination device.
	</li>
	<li>
		EASY USE AND ERGONOMIC DESIGN - FORS Gold is impressing not only with its electronics and software, but with its ease of use and ergonomic design as well. With its easy access settings, its widest scan design and its ergonomics which will not exhaust you during prolonged searches, FORS Gold is an indispensable detector for all detectorists.
	</li>
	<li>
		LONG BATTERY LIFE - FORS Gold works with 4 AA Alkaline batteries that can easily be purchased anywhere and provides approximately 25-30 hours of use. You can also purchase the optional rechargeable batteries and the charger and charge your batteries at home or in your car.

<p>
	The Nokta/Makro CF77 Coin Finder was introduced in 2013 and is still in production. The CF77 is a 17.5 kHz VLF metal detector aimed primarily at coin, jewelry, relic, and gold nugget detecting.
</p>

<p>
	<em>"CF77 metal detector lets you easily detect gold, single coins, jewelry, relics and other tiny objects in areas that you could not hunt before. The detector does this by providing a stable and deep search in the most difficult ground conditions. The CF77 features three modes of operation. GENERAL is a non-discrimination mode that provides maximum depth. MODE 1 and MODE 2 are a discrimination mode that provides smooth and stable operation while filtering out unwanted targets. These modes provide exceptional performance in highly mineralized soil conditions. The CF77 metal detector can reach incredible depth while still providing complete target identification and clear discrimination between metals. The unique design can prevent you from unnecessary digging by helping you discriminate between non-ferrous, gold and ferrous metals with 3 different audio tones. The CF77 metal detector provides you with the ability to hunt all day and then some. Now you can hunt without worrying about running low on power. Powered by just 8 AA Alkaline batteries, the CF77 metal detector can easily run for 30 hours."</em> Source: <a href="https://www.noktadetectors.com/metal-detector/cf77-coin-finder/" rel="external nofollow">Nokta/Makro website</a>
