		GROUND TRACKING - Along with automatic and manual ground balancing, NOKTA FORS Gold Pro metal detector also offers ground tracking which tracks the changes in ground and automatically adjusts the ground balance to suit. The visible or invisible changes in ground affects the detection depth as well as the discrimination ability of the device so you can improve the performance of the device by activating this feature on suitable ground.
	</li>
	<li>
		DIGITAL TARGET ID – ID MASKING - When NOKTA FORS Gold Pro metal detector detects a target, it displays the target ID on the screen and gives you an idea about what the target may be. ID Masking, on the other hand, enables you to search by ignoring unwanted targets. It provides ease of use by rejecting hot rocks and metals such as iron and foil.
	</li>
	<li>
		DUAL LCD DISPLAY AND GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE - FORS Gold has 2 LCD displays – one on the system box and one on the handle. Dual LCD display and graphical user interface let you easily adjust the settings and see all the information you need on the screens. Once you adjust your settings on the LCD panel located on the system box, you can follow most of the information on the display in the front. This way you don’t need to go back and check the LCD panel constantly. This provides great comfort during searching.
	</li>
	<li>
		ELECTRONIC PINPOINTING AND DEPTH INDICATOR - With NOKTA FORS Gold Pro metal detector, you can easily pinpoint a target with just the push of a button. As the target is approached in the pinpoint mode, the signal tone will get stronger and change in pitch and at the same time, the depth reading will appear on both screens. Pinpoint feature will save you digging time and enable you to reach your target faster.
	</li>
	<li>
		VIBRATION MODE - Designed with the hearing impaired in mind, FORS Gold achieved a first with the vibration feature. Vibration feature is also ideal for users who do not want to use headphones in outdoor noise such as wind or waves.
	</li>
	<li>
		BUILT-IN LED FLASHLIGHT - FORS Gold built-in flashlight offers great convenience by illuminating the scan area when searching at night or in dark. You will not need an external illumination device.
	</li>
	<li>
		EASY USE AND ERGONOMIC DESIGN - FORS Gold is impressing not only with its electronics and software, but with its ease of use and ergonomic design as well. With its easy access settings, its widest scan design and its ergonomics which will not exhaust you during prolonged searches, FORS Gold is an indispensable detector for all detectorists.
	</li>
	<li>
		LONG BATTERY LIFE - FORS Gold works with 4 AA Alkaline batteries that can easily be purchased anywhere and provides approximately 25-30 hours of use. You can also purchase the optional rechargeable batteries and the charger and charge your batteries at home or in your car.

<p>
	The White's TDI BeachHunter metal detector was introduced in 2018 and is still in was still in production when White’s closed up shop in 2020. The TDI BeachHunter is a fully submersible pulse induction (PI) metal detector aimed primarily at beach detecting for coins and jewelry. The TDI BeachHunter is basically a waterproof <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/whites-tdi-sl-r36/" rel="">TDI SL</a> and performance is about the same.
</p>

<p>
	<em>"Common VLF detectors, even multi-frequency ones, can struggle in strong mineralization or salt conditions. That’s where the power of Pulse Induction can help you find more treasure! Specially-built for both the beach and the goldfields, the TDI BeachHunter offers extreme depth performance on land or sea. Waterproof to 25 ft, the TDI BeachHunter punches deep at the beach, in goldfields, or even in difficult relic areas like red clay. The adjustable Pulse Delay lets you set the machine up for maximum sensitivity to fine gold jewelry, small nuggets, and hammered coins at depth. Just set your ground balance, adjust your gain, and start swinging! With the dual-tone audio users quickly learn the difference in sounds, and adjustable volume and threshold controls allow flexibility for different hunters’ preferences. At only 5.2 lbs, the TDI BeachHunter is ready for action, and an included hip and chest-mount pouch allows for users to customize the machine to their own hunting style. The included Heavy-Duty NiMH rechargeable battery extends the run-time to about 6 hrs, and the backup 8 AA battery pack means you’re setup for long days in search of gold, silver, or relics. The patented 12″ Dual-Field search coil features two coils in one – a small, inner coil with higher sensitivity to small targets, and larger outer ring that punches deep into salt or other mineralization. Due to the fact that the coil is hard-wired, users may find this model offers increases sensitivity and stability compared to the TDI SL." </em>Source: <a href="https://www.whiteselectronics.com/product/tdi-beachhunter/?lang=us" rel="external nofollow">White's website</a>

<p>
	The Fisher Gold Bug DP is a version of the <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/fisher-gold-bug-pro-r14/" rel="">Fisher Gold Bug Pro</a> metal detector that was introduced in 2010 and is still in production. It is a 19 khz VLF metal detector aimed primarily at gold prospecting, relic, jewelry, and coin detecting. The Gold Bug Pro has been a very popular entry level gold prospecting detector. Note that the Fisher Gold Bug Pro normally comes with a non-standard 5" round coil. This is good for nugget detecting but too small for most common uses. The Fisher Gold Bug DP is simply a Fisher Gold Bug Pro that comes with the 7" x 11" DD instead of the 5" round DD coil.
</p>

<p>
	<em>"The Gold Bug® family has revolutionized gold prospecting with new prospecting tools, Target-ID, incredible depth and all at an affordable price! Its fast retune speed and biaxial Search coils create superb target separation with impressive depth. V-BreakTM, the industry's first Variable Breakpoint tone discrimination system, allows user control of the multi-tone Audio ID system. This feature helps distinguish iron targets with a distinctive low audio tone while non-ferrite targets like gold, induce high tones. Tone discrimination combines with a dead-accurate Visual ID system to give gold prospectors a vital new tool in finding gold without having to dig any iron targets. An expanded 40-Point Iron ID target range helps differentiate between larger iron objects and smaller nails and pieces. The way it minimizes the masking effects of ferrous targets near non-ferrous targets is simply amazing! Coin and relic hunters marveled at how well the Gold Bug® Pro performed with our legendary 11 "DD Searchcoil, and the Gold Bug® DP was bom. Two more unique features are the real-time display of the Ground Phase value and an Fe304 meter that indicates the amount of mineralization present. These features monitor changes in soil conditions to locate and trace black sand concentrations where gold is commonly found. The Ground Balance system handles the toughest of ground conditions, capable of balancing all the way to salt. No longer do you need a specialized detector for prospecting and another for coins and relics; the Gold Bug excels at both!"</em> Source: <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/files/file/20-fisher-2016-metal-detector-catalog/" rel="">Fisher 2016 catalog</a>

		GROUND TRACKING - Along with automatic and manual ground balancing, NOKTA FORS CoRe metal detector also offers ground tracking which tracks the changes in ground and automatically adjusts the ground balance to suit. The visible or invisible changes in ground affects the detection depth as well as the discrimination ability of the device so you can improve the performance of the device by activating this feature on suitable ground.
	</li>
	<li>
		DIGITAL TARGET ID – ID MASKING - When NOKTA FORS CoRe metal detector detects a target, it displays the target ID on the screen and gives you an idea about what the target may be. ID Masking, on the other hand, enables you to search by ignoring unwanted targets. It provides ease of use by rejecting hot rocks and metals such as iron and foil.
	</li>
	<li>
		DUAL LCD DISPLAY AND GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE - FORS CoRe has 2 LCD displays – one on the system box and one on the handle.
	</li>
	<li>
		ELECTRONIC PINPOINTING AND DEPTH INDICATOR - With NOKTA FORS CoRe metal detector, you can easily pinpoint a target with just the push of a button. As the target is approached in the pinpoint mode, the signal tone will get stronger and change in pitch and at the same time, the depth reading will appear on both screens. Pinpoint feature will save you digging time and enable you to reach your target faster.
	</li>
	<li>
		VIBRATION MODE - Designed with the hearing impaired in mind, FORS CoRe achieved a first with the vibration feature. Vibration feature is also ideal for users who do not want to use headphones in outdoor noise such as wind or waves.
	</li>
	<li>
		BUILT-IN LED FLASHLIGHT - FORS CoRe built-in flashlight offers great convenience by illuminating the scan area when searching at night or in dark. You will not need an external illumination device.
	</li>
	<li>
		EASY USE AND ERGONOMIC DESIGN - FORS CoRe is impressing not only with its electronics and software, but with its ease of use and ergonomic design as well. With its easy access settings, its widest scan design and its ergonomics which will not exhaust you during prolonged searches, FORS CoRe is an indispensable detector for all detectorists.
	</li>
	<li>
		LONG BATTERY LIFE - FORS CoRe works with 4 AA Alkaline batteries that can easily be purchased anywhere and provides approximately 25-30 hours of use. You can also purchase the optional rechargeable batteries and the charger and charge your batteries at home or in your car.

<p>
	The White's Sierra Gold Trac (SGT) metal detector was introduced in 2013 and was still in production when White’s closed up shop in 2020. It is a 48 khz induction balance metal detector aimed primarily at gold prospecting. The SGT is a stripped down version of the <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/whites-goldmaster-gmt-r34/" rel="">White's GMT</a> in that it only has two controls and is locked into full time ground tracking, but other than that it has all the power of the GMT for half the price. The SGT had an MSRP of $599.95 when introduced in 2013 but was discounted to $499.95. It was temporarily discontinued but revived in 2018 with a new price of $399.95.

<p>
	The Fisher Impulse Gold is a new ground balancing pulse induction (GBPI) metal detector with probable availability in 2021. The new Fisher Impulse Gold is a gold prospecting model being developed alongside the <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/fisher-impulse-aq-ltd-r129/" rel="">Fisher Impulse AQ</a> model, which is intended for beach and water hunting. The Impulse Gold is expected to offer excellent depth and superb sensitivity to small gold nuggets due to an very low pulse delay capability. The compact design and light weight is also attracting a lot of attention.
</p>

<p>
	A major design difference from the AQ model will be the inclusion of a ground balance control to deal with mineralized ground conditions. There may or may not be any ferrous discrimination features as are offered in the Fisher Impulse AQ due to the almost infinite range of target id numbers spanned by naturally occurring gold nuggets. It is likely that this model will also find applications with relic hunters, as has been the case with previous pulse induction gold prospecting metal detectors.
</p>

<p>
	Production of the AQ Limited ceased in December 2020. <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/forums/topic/14728-2021-and-aq/?do=findComment&amp;comment=155154" rel="">According to this post</a>, the final Impulse AQ will be released by July 2021, and it will sell for between $2800 and $3500. How this relates to the Impulse Gold model is unknown at this time.
</p>

<p>
	The photo below shows the Fisher Impulse AQ prototype - the Fisher Impulse AU is probably of similar design although testing has been mentioned with a smaller coil.

	The White's GMX Sport metal detector was introduced in 2020 and was still in production when White’s closed up shop in that same year. That makes the GMX the last detector model to be designed and sold by White’s Electronics after 50 years in business. The GMX is a 48 kHz induction balance metal detector waterproof to ten feet aimed primarily at the jewelry detecting and gold prospecting markets. The GMX Sport is physically based on the White's MX Sport housing but otherwise is a <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/whites-goldmaster-24k-r35/" rel="">Goldmaster 24K</a> electronically. The control functions are identical the the Goldmaster 24K and the display screen is also identical to the 24K. For advanced users of the White's GMX Sport, TracLock and Ground Grab are just a tap of button away. You can assign a ground balance offset in both TracLock or XGB modes. To help prospectors that prefer drywashing, sluicing, or panning, the GMX features a Ground Scan mode that can show you where valuable paystreaks are in stream beds and washes. The GMX Sport offers 10 levels of adjustable sensitivity, adjustable audio volume with two levels of Boost, adjustable discrimination, vSAT, adjustable threshold, non-motion pinpoint, and a Tone ID mode. But don’t let that scare you if this is your first prospecting machine – this is a turn-on-and-go machine, with advanced features you can grow into as you gain experience.

	</li>
	<li>
		SENSITIVITY – Set the sensitivity at a level that does not result in false signals from the ground. Very strong ground may result in the symbol on screen and a loud sound – this means the sensitivity is too high.
	</li>
	<li>
		GROUND BALANCE – With the default setting, the detector will use XGB to automatically ground balance. Tap to lock the ground balance to the current setting. Tapping when the ground balance is locked will update the current ground setting to what is under the coil.
	</li>
	<li>
		GROUND SCAN – Hold to put the detector into Ground Scan mode. The top bar displays the ground strength and the two digit numbers display the ground type (phase). Useful for tracing paystreaks.
	</li>
	<li>
		IRON CANCEL – Tap to silence hot rocks, trash and mineral changes in both audio modes. Hold to select the Iron Cancel setting (1 bar is default). Note that this setting may decrease the detector’s sensitivity to very small gold, but is necessary in difficult ground conditions.
	</li>
	<li>
		VOLUME and THRESHOLD – Tap to adjust the volume with the up and down buttons. Hold to adjust the threshold with the up and down buttons (“th” displays on screen). Set these to a comfortable level for your hearing and preference.
	</li>
	<li>
		AUDIO MODE – With the displayed on screen, the detector is in “BEEP” audio mode (high tone = good target, low tone = bad target). The default setting (without on screen) is a traditional All-Metal audio mode with greater sensitivity to small targets.
	</li>
	<li>
		SAT – SAT can smooth out ground inconsistencies. Hold to adjust it (“Sa” displays on screen, 2 is the default setting).
	</li>
	<li>
		PINPOINT – Hold for non-motion pinpoint mode. In difficult ground this mode may be affected by mineralization.
	</li>
	<li>
		BACKLIGHT – Tap to enable the backlight (this reduces battery life).
	</li>
	<li>
		FREQUENCY SHIFT – Hold when turning the detector on to shift frequency (useful when there is EMI). Power off to save the selection.
	</li>
	<li>
		FACTORY RESET – Hold when turning the detector on to perform a factory reset.

<p>
	Completely new for Bounty Hunter for 2020, the Time Ranger Pro appears to be a Fisher F19 in sleek new clothing. This detector is available now. The Time Ranger Pro is a 19 kHz VLF metal detector aimed primarily at coin, jewelry, and relic detecting. The Bounty Hunter Time Ranger Pro is a variant of the 19 kHz <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/fisher-gold-bug-pro-r14/" rel="">Fisher Gold Bug Pro</a> and so it also is very good at gold prospecting. All coils for the Fisher Gold Bug Pro, F19, and Teknetics G2+ are compatible with the Time Ranger Pro.

<p>
	Note: Minelabs GPX 6000 features three coil options: the GPX11 11" monoloop coil for versatile gold hunting, the GPX14 14" Double-D coil to detect gold accurately even in salty environments, and the GPX17 17" elliptical coil, to find large gold nuggets at greater depth. All coils are waterproof to 1 meter (3 feet). Early information indicates the Africa model will come with the 11" mono and 17" elliptical coils, while the U.S. model will instead include the 11" round mono and 14" round DD coils.

<p>
	The Fisher Impulse AQ is a new pulse induction (PI) metal detector with an expected released in 2022. The Fisher Impulse AQ is part of a series of new pulse induction detectors from Fisher Research. The AQ (AQua) is a waterproof model intended for beach and water hunting. Pulse induction technology offers extreme performance on highly mineralized beaches that inhibit the depths attainable with VLF metal detectors.
</p>

<p>
	The AQ was released first in 2020 as a limited production model, <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/fisher-impulse-aq-ltd-r129/" rel="">the Impulse AQ Limited</a>. This machine has a depth rating of three feet and a NiMH battery with running time of up to 3.5 hours. The battery is attached by an exposed cable that is the main cause for the 3 foot depth rating, and which must be handled with care. The Impulse AQ Limited ceased production in December 2020 after a run of about thirty units.
</p>

<p>
	The 2022 production model of the Impulse AQ will feature various upgrades and improvements to the Limited version of the detector:
</p>

<ol style="background-color:#ffffff; color:#353c41; font-size:14px; text-align:start">
	<li>
		Battery system replaced entirely with four drop in 18650 rechargeable Li-Ion batteries
	</li>
	<li>
		Depth rating to be increased
	</li>
	<li>
		Lower rod made longer to accommodate taller users
	</li>
	<li>
		Headphone connection being relocated to back of pod
	</li>
	<li>
		An 8” accessory coil is in the works

	<strong>Prototype Fisher Impulse AQ pulse induction metal detector</strong>
</p>

<p>
	The Fisher Impulse AQ offers excellent depth and superb sensitivity to gold jewelry - the machine is highly optimized for finding gold rings in particular. The most anticipated feature is discrimination better than that currently offered on any other pulse induction metal detector. The discrimination is focused more on high value gold rings than coins, and may actually exclude many coins if enabled. This is not considered a problem for many serious beach hunters as a lot of time is wasted recovering coins under difficult conditions when gold rings are actually the desired target. The compact waterproof design and relatively light weight is also attracting attention. <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/fisher-impulse-gold/" rel="">Other Impulse models</a> are expected to be aimed at gold prospectors and possibly even the relic/coin detecting market.

<p>
	<em>"The Scorpion Gold Stinger is the cure for today’s common Gold Fever! Its world renowned 15kHz Groundhog circuitry has the power to penetrate heavily mineralized soils to locate nuggets, placer, float and ore veins.  Use it when prospecting to sample ore and check “hot rocks” with ease and dependability. Choose between Non-Motion All-Metal operation, Motion Discriminate for coin searching or true TR Discrimination to accurately identify or grade conductive ore with the flip of a switch. The Scorpion discovers more gold and ignores more junk metal than other detectors in its class."</em> Source: <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/files/file/24-garrett-2008-metal-detector-catalog/" rel="">2008 Garrett catalog</a>

<p>
	The Fisher Gold Bug metal detector was introduced in 1987 and discontinued in 1998. It is a 19 kHz induction balance metal detector aimed primarily at gold prospecting. The original 19 kHz Gold Bug design is a classic, featuring an "S" rod with a compact removeable control box, plus a selection of elliptical search coils. There was nothing quite like it at the time, and the Gold Bug represents one of the first truly modern gold nugget detector designs.
</p>

<p>
	<em>"The metal detector engineered for one job... find gold nuggets in mineralized soil. Many gold bearing areas are literally peppered with small nuggets just inches below the surface. The trouble is, most metal detectors pass right over them. The nuggets are too small and the ground too mineralized. But not for the Gold Bug. It performs where others can't. Users have already reported finding thousands and thousands of nuggets in highly mineralized soil from here to Australia. Only 2.9 pouinds with a cushioned arm rest and grip, double locking fiberglass stem, push-button retune and double derivitive, quartz crystal locked electronics. All backed by a 5 year Limited Warranty and the world's oldest and proudest name in metal detectors."</em> Source: <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/files/file/217-fisher-gold-bug-original-analog-model-brochure/" rel="">Fisher Gold Bug brochure</a>

<p>
	The Minelab GPX 4000 detector was released in 2006 and was discontinued in 2009. The GPX 4000 was a pulse induction (PI) metal detector aimed primarily at the gold prospecting market but which has become popular also with relic hunters. The GPX 4000 was the first of a new series for Minelab, following up on the successful GP series models. Major changes involved a new digital front end for most controls, and a new Lithium Ion battery system, a vast improvement over the sealed lead acid batteries used on previous models.
</p>

<p>
	<em>"Simply the world's most advanced and powerful Gold Detector ever! The GPX-4000 follows on the success of its predecessor, the GP3500. Never before has Minelab offered such a versatile, easy to use gold prospecting detector, which has more power and punch than ever. The control panel layout has been re-designed to allow for a simpler. logical set-up procedure, incorporating an LCD Function Display. Simply scroll through the various functions of the detector and select the level required. All the variable level controls offer precise numeric settings for more accuracy. The lightweight Li-Ion battery offers the latest in battery technology, increased power, rapid charging time (4 hours), self contained charging system and robust housing. </em><em>S</em>ource: <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/files/file/218-minelab-2006-metal-detector-catalog/" rel="">Minelab 2006 catalog</a>

</p>

<ul><li>
		<strong>Advanced Digital Control System</strong> - Provides more operator control and functionality allowing the GPX-4000 to be fine-tuned for all types of searching. Pre-programmed search modes optimize the detector at a flick of a switch for different situations, whether general searching, patch finding or chaining an area. Access to a number of new variable functions allows the operator to select their own combination of settings to gain the best possible performance.
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>LCD Function Display</strong> - The most obvious change to the GPX-4000 is the new LCD display on the rear of the control box. The user can simply scroll through the various functions and select the level required. All the variable level controls offer precise numeric settings for more accuracy. Gone is the inaccuracy of turning the control to "about 2-o’clock" - now you can compare the effect of different settings precisely and easily remember preferred levels, without the risk of settings being accidentally changed during transit or while detecting. All changes are saved automatically on shut down and reloaded when the detector is turned back on. The user can also restore the GPX-4000 back to factory pre-sets at any time.
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>Gain</strong> - The Gain is now a numeric function that precisely sets the overall sensitivity level. In areas where search conditions are mild, Gain can be increased. In areas that are more difficult, it can be reduced. Using the Gain control in combination with other controls like Timings, Audio and Ground Balance enhances performance to a level never before possible.
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>Sensitive / Smooth Timing</strong> - The GPX-4000 has two sensitivity options. The all-new Smooth option dramatically reduces signals from hot rocks and false ground noises, yet remains highly responsive to small targets. Depth on larger targets is sacrificed slightly, so in mild ground conditions the Sensitive timing found on previous GP detectors, now called Extra, is the preferred option as it will provide greater depth.
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>Ground Balance Type</strong> - In addition to normal ground balance the GPX-4000  has an optional Specific ground balance, designed especially for use in very hot ground and that is especially useful with Mono-loop coils.
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>Response</strong> – Serious gold hunters are familiar with the distinctive target signal from small nuggets; it tends to start in a rising tone and then drops to a lower one. Because there are usually more small nuggets than large ones, this target signal is quite familiar. The Response function allows the user to invert the normal target response so that when detecting deep ground for large nuggets, the target response is easier to hear and recognize.
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>Motion</strong> - Different sweep speeds demand different software so that the detector can give the best results. The Motion function allows the operator to indicate their intended sweep speed to provide the best threshold stability and target response for that sweep speed.
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>Volume Limit</strong> - Improvements have been made to allow potentially loud signals to be reduced without any loss of signal strength on weak, soft signals.
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>Lithium-Ion Battery</strong> - Minelabs new lightweight Lithium Ion batteries hold their charge at almost full power for over 12 hours. The intelligent charging system is self-contained in the lightweight aluminium housing, offering rapid recharge times of 3 to 4 hours, from either the 12v auto or AC outlet adaptor (both included). The power available can be tested at any time through the LCD display.
	</li>
	<li>
		<strong>New Padded Comfort Belt</strong> - Included with the GPX-4000 is a new padded waist belt that makes wearing the battery harness more comfortable. A welcome improvement.

	The Minelab GP 3500 detector was released in 2005, and it was discontinued in 2006, replaced by the <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/metal-detector-database/minelab-gpx-4000-r147/" rel="">Minelab GPX 4000</a>. The GP 3500 is a pulse induction (PI) metal detector aimed primarily at the gold prospecting market. The Minelab GP 3500 was the last and most refined of the analog PI models that Minelab produced, before making the shift to digital with the GPX 4000.

<p>
	<em>"The Minelab GP 3500 utilizes “Dual Voltage Technology” (DVT), which assists accurate ground balance and increases sensitivity<br>
	by overcoming the potential problem of super-saturated electro-magnetic fields in heavily mineralized ground. Like its predecessor, the GP 3000, the GP 3500 can handle heavily mineralized and salty ground conditions with greater ease than previous detectors, which effectively opens up NEW detecting areas. The new Low-Noise circuitry found in the GP 3500 results in a smoother threshold, enhancing your ability to hear faint signals caused by small and deep targets."  </em>Source: <a href="https://www.detectorprospector.com/files/file/212-minelab-gp-3500-user-guide/" rel="">GP 3500 Owner's Manual</a>
