  1. Speaking of Larry, what ever happened to him? Is he still into prospecting or left for greener pastures.
  2. Sweet gold!!! The effort in the rain paid off big time, congrats on the job well done. That J piece is a keeper.....
  3. Hey Jen, welcome....nice to see you on the forum. Sweet gold....nice job.
  4. If the detector comes with 2 Monster rolls of cinnabons...I am buying !!!!!!
  5. very, very nice.....congrats on the awesome camera. Looking forward to seeing some of your work. Fred
  6. Trash.........broken equipment when on hunt.
  7. Another benefit of the zed, rain proof ! Congrats on the nuggets...bet it was a good time. Was out last Friday on top of a hill side for about 2 hours working hillside when the hail started... have to admit it was fun walking back to the car half mile away.
  8. yeah....kinda cool but not practical ...in the Sierras at least.
  9. Got lucky and paid 6.00 bucks plus 4 bucks shipping for a brand new hardcover. Came in a week ago but have to finish a great book I am reading now called Blood and Thunder, a story about Kit Carson and the conquest of the American west. If anyone enjoys Western history this is a must read, chronicles Kit Carson and John C, Fremont's exploits and adventures.
  10. Congrats on the upgrade Dave...good luck to you this year!
  11. Awesome display...... of sweet buttery yellow nuggs...love those boxes too!
  12. Mariposa very light but continuous rain....Yosemite shut down and all employees evacuated just in case we get a down pour tonight and tomorrow. Shelters prepared to take in people who have no place to sleep do to flooding primarily for Yosemite park employees who live in employee housing...tent camps, cabins and apartments. Hope all is safe, and lots of exposed bedrock next season.... :)
  13. Indeed....very motivating........got plenty :) but those nuggs are getting more difficult to find..been in skunksville for a month now....just a few odd little ones :(...but the new year is here.....and so is the rain!!!!
  14. Well considering the dredging ban is in full effect I don't see any great benefit to the flooding here in the Southern Sierras where I live. I do see a potential benefit this spring and summer for those that snipe underwater or sluice the local creeks and rivers with bedrock exposure with this storm it may open up many areas otherwise buried in sand a overburden. I do look forward to summer as I enjoy putting on my wetsuit , mask , snorkel and do some ' blocking ' removing slabs of bedrock with a 5 pound sledge hammer, pry bar and chisels to search for gold nuggets. Right now we are experiencing continuous rain we shall see what transpires in the next few days.
  15. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it today ....Wishing you all Good Health and Happiness.
  16. I stand corrected......still different company same problem......expensive coils with inferior covers.
  17. Sorry to hear about the coil cover problem....that one expensive coil....cover should be top notch. Same with the Evo coils covers....had my 17x13 Evo for three weeks and the coil cover tape broke and cover went right off.. whats with that?? 500 bucks for coil and cover falls right off after a dozen hunts. Perhaps if Minelab is listening....each of these Evo coils should come with a FREE roll of tape, or just price it in the coil and include the roll with it.
  18. Flakmagnet, Thanks for the Title, I just ordered the book on Amazon should be great reading in the evenings. Gold does something to people, something bad. Rich ore, nuggets, gold coins and treasure in considerable amounts have precipitated wars, murder and sudden death for hundreds of years, it's no surprise it continues today. I Am sure some of us have seen friends go against friends, wife against husband..lol ...over even smaller amounts!!
