  1. Looks like it has some quartz on it, wonder if they will do a specific gravity test ?
  2. Awesome video, would love to have someone dig targets for me. and hand me the nuggets.
  3. Yup, I see your point fellas.....4 wheels is a must. I was just thinking of the space that could be converted for sleep quarters maybe a small kitchen, and some storage for detectors and parts. Protected from outside elements like weather and animals when sleeping. Beats spending 40,000 grand. I am sure their are other cheaper options one could make into a great nuggethunting vehicle. Did you guys ever see JP's rig in Australia? that must of cost a bundle....
  4. Check this out, they call it the OX and was designed for the 20 % of the world that has no vehicles. Would make a great prospecting off roader with a little custom work. http://www.topgear.com/car-news/big-reads/can-flat-pack-truck-save-world
  5. Good to hear your out again....nice job on the gold with the Makro.....
  6. Benny, the 4500 is easy to learn, have no fear......just do it! ................
  7. gpx 4500. hands down, the Commander 11" Mono coil is a hot little coil ...lately been hitting 2-3 grain dinks. 15 gram at 23" with 24" Mono....thats versatility.
  8. AuWanderer, No 28 dwts not Grams if it was grams that's like 28 x 1.55 = 43.4 grams! Dwts are easy on my mind there is only 20 dwts per ounce vs 31.1 grams to and ounce...but I sell them either way people like to buy them at, lol. Rick Yup, I goofed, I read it correct and understood but I am used to grams..when I weigh my gold. Sometimes finger typing faster than the mind..lol If I was doing 43 .4 grams every three days.....Wow !! I would be a happy camper.
  9. Holy Smokies Rick !! You did 28 grams in three days????? I would call that a success.....great job man ! By th esound of it, your 7000 is working very well......
  10. Regardless of what is coming around the corner....you still have to do the work and dig targets. There are plenty of areas to hunt, sure a perfect discriminator would be nice. I have endless placer grounds to hunt full of trash and where there is trash there is gold. VLF technology does not do it for me...love the sweet sound of a PI. Still using my 4500 with a 11' Commander coil.I wont upgrade until they have a perfect discriminating ZED.
  11. I agree with Swifty.............can't wait until another video comes out Love watching the Aussies do their thing in the outback.. On the reality tv side, wish all who go for it a lot of luck.
  12. Found the shoot......some of you may know Gerry Edwards....ohhh I was one of the claim jumpers....gold buying seen was not shown...
  13. Jason and Diggerbob are correct. I was fortunate enough to be included as a character in one of these reality shows about gold hunting and was interviewed. This production companies name escapes me now but they are in the business and have many shows to their list on tv. Anyways they came up, three of them....two camermen and the director or concept idea person for the company, who happened to be the great grand daughter of the director (Greek Fella) who produced and directed Cleopatra back in the 30's. We did what they call Quick Reals for three days. We basically shot some film with showing us finding, chasing claim jumpers away with guns, and selling gold, to me as I was the buyer of the gold. We were told the company had to go back east to sell the idea to all the networks like Discovery, National Geographic and so on. Well we were put on the shelf, that's what they call it..never heard from them...lol again. They want crazy sh-t, not miners who put the nose to the ground and seek gold day after day...they love drama, without it, it don't last long. Weeks went by and she called us saying the day she had to go east to sell the idea she got sick and one of the camera guys went instead....she said he sabotaged it, she left the company..forming her own production company. It was a fun experience....oh and than their was the guy with the parrot who traveled the States interviewing gold seekers and mining with his parrot which was marketed for kids....that one never made it either. But......good luck to anyone who gives it a go. You may have a better experience than I...
  14. Sweet set up with the 5 Keene 151 trays...what size screen do you use? From the picture I am guessing 1/4 inch. Do you detect the waste pile for nuggets?
  15. Congrats on your awesome find....love the coarse chunky look to it.
  16. Hard Prospector, Its interesting how many miners carry a nugg in their pocket....it's not the first time I have heard of this. Up here in the Sierras a know a number of fellas who keep one as if it was a good luck charm...I personally don't as I hate losing things I find....I work hard enough and would kick myself in the ass if I lost one.
  17. very nice.....old patch delivers......yet another impressive nugget. congrats !
