I've got a copy of that, it's great.

yeah, the F75 LTD with DST fitted with the 3x6 concentric is hot hot hot. For 'tiny' target hunting I prefer it over the Goldbug Pro series.
Nice mods.

MikeNever used that coil on my F75. What about heavy trash? Iron?

Learned something very interesting yesterday.

All I mean is detectors that are running at such high gain settings that knock or bump sensitivity is even an issue. Most detectors have been designed for "safe driving" in the past. Now in the arms race for more power, companies are pushing gain as high as it can go and then some. This results in more detectors now that overload or have coil sensitivity issues at the highest gain settings. Nok/Mak detectors are all prone to overload due to having very high gain levels. My Makro Gold Racer and Minelab Gold Monster both have coil knock issues at the higher sensitivity levels, as does Equinox.
I like detectors that can be "overdriven" or redlined, but it raises issues with people who on one hand have problems at the highest sensitivity levels, but at the same time do not want to lower the sensitivity to eliminate those problems because it results in less sensitivity to desired items. A Catch-22 type issue.
My F75 will do the same thing when I have the sensitivity above 90 or so.

I'd love to have one for the super trashy areas around an old homestead. But I guess I'll keep using the F75 with the 5" coil for that purpose. In the future I might see into trading other coils for a used one for the Equinox.

Awesome beach finds. The Equinox is truly a great multi purpose detector.

Very good choice.

Never really thought of that option.

Did Minelab not go though the same thing a few years ago?
Amazing what people will do to profit from others research.

Leave it to Carl, to see an opportunity and jump on it.

But the large layoff in December of 2017 indicated either they needed to trim the fat or sales were down to a point where something had to be done.

Sounds like a great machine. Good for gold prospecting, maybe. Beach hunting, yes. But I don't get to beach hunt but once a year. Waterproof, great.
But I'm still waiting for the day when a PI will be developed that can discriminate out nails and still see the deep silver. Not trying to manipulate the ground balance settings achieve such a feat.

Keep it up, the finds will come. Run stock programs to start with.
If it gets noisy turn it down a little.

Tinfoil has been telling for for years I need one of those Swingy things.

I'm both happy and excited for you. Gold coins are very rare to dig up.
I'm still waiting on my first one.

To my that is an awesome piece of gold and a beautiful location.

I'm happy you kept the machine. The more you hunt the better you will understand.

I too have saw the 2.5 kHz show up on the multi-frequency scans I've done.
I too am 100% satisfied with my Equinox.
Hats off to Minelab, another winner in my book.

Watched episode 1 last night -- disappointed but not surprised. It reminds me of Josh Gates in Expedition Unknown, but without Josh's humor. Appears they at least negotiated with White's to give them detectors, whether or not they are getting paid to use/show them on air. TM808, MX-Sport, and MXT (or is it V3i/VX3?).
I'll give it another chance next week. At least it's not all about backstabbing conflict like some of the gold mining shows have turned into.
I also watched the show last night and my feelings were the same, somewhat disappointed, but I'll watch another episode before deciding to continue watching or not.

I had an AT Pro about 3 years ago and had a blast water hunting. As a result of meeting a guy and his wife who lived somewhere in North Carolina and several silver ore specimens in the back of his car, I sold the detector to him. He told me if the detector was able to detect the ore in these large rock he would buy the detector on the spot. The very last thing he asked before leaving was, "how deep could this detector find a 5 gallon bucket of silver coins", will all I could say was, if the ground was fairly clean of iron trash, maybe 2 feet deep, but I couldn't say for sure. Never heard from him again.

Simple 14.8v Battery Pack For TDI Beach Hunter

I read somewhere that increasing the voltage on the TDI SL would allow equal performance with the regular TDI.
