Even though its been stated that using the Frequency Spectrum to see the frequency, is an error, I'm seeing the same results as EL NINO77. I'm seeing a Visual representation of the frequency that is dominant, where his (much better) is both a visual output and a numerical frequency HZ. I need to see if I can make my program replicate what EL NINO77 has posted.

I'm actually in this to satisfy my on curiosity. Not trying to prove or disprove anyone. And certainly not to discredit other, in any way. This software also has the capability to output like an oscilloscope. I'll tinker more in the coming days. Thanks for the message EL NINO77, I'll see if I can make those adjustments.

I ran a few test tonight and here is a captured picture of my Equinox in multi-frequency mode. I couldn't get my capture to go higher than 20, but that is my computer hardware problems not the Equinox. I also did single frequency captures and all look good but frequency 5, but here again I'm not sure I've got everything set correctly. Stay tuned

Can Your Detector Do This?

Very interesting test results. I hadn't tried my Equinox, but it's good to know. -
I Had A Goal For This Year.....
Mark Gillespie replied to Dukester's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
Now you'll start finding more. The more you hunt the more you'll find. The more experience, the more in-tuned you'll be with the machine, in turn, the more you'll find. -
Can Your Detector Do This?
Mark Gillespie replied to Rick K - First Member's topic in Metal Detecting For Jewelry
My TDI with the small coil can do it. ? -
The Equinox is a turn on and go detector. Start with Park 1, leave everything as is and start hunting. It is amazing how well the stock programs are. Put a few hours on this program before switching to another program or making adjustment. Go to page 11, start guide, follow instructions and off you go. I guarantee you'll be good to go.

Just got off the phone with Jerry "Tinfoil". He says hi to all on the forum and mentioned Steve and many others by name. He doesn't do much posting anymore but frequently visits to read our posts. Then the next topic he wanted to talk about was small gold jewelry and how the Equinox performed. His advise was, take my wife's jewelry and play, record ID numbers and the audio response of each.

Tinfoil Advice
Mark Gillespie replied to Mark Gillespie's topic in Metal Detector Advice & Comparisons
I think the boost mode reduces the recovery speed (no documentation about this) and allows more time for the weaker signals to process and be heard. This in turn, with reduced sensitivity, allows for deeper targets to be heard without EMI affecting the audio. But, BP is not for super trashy areas. -
1906 Barber Beauty With My 800
Mark Gillespie replied to relicmeister's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Fantastic find. I get a lot of enjoyment, when I see a Barber. Over the years I've found several Barber dimes and only one quarter. I'm very happy for you, it must have brought you much happiness. -

Still hunting for these two guys and their hunting stories. Thanks for all the suggestions. -
When the first LTD version of the Fisher F75 became available there was a lot of topic talk about EMI and how it affected this new F75. I had struggled with using the F75 in the cities where it seems a lot of interference would all but shut down my F75. A lot of frustration lead to a phone conversation with Jerry, can't say his last name "Tinfoil" down in Louisiana. Over many years we had became good friends and I had learned one thing about him, when he talks detecting, it's time to listen and don't talk. Well anyway, the discussion that particular day was EMI and how he dealt with it. He made several suggestions and one stuck, turn the %$#@ down. No need to spell that out. Of coarse I new that but refused, thinking I'd loose one of those deep targets. A few day later I did a few experiments with the F75 and this was my results. And by the way I still have my F75 LTD.

I've been very interested in the Manta from the beginning. Even though the first unit will be mainly for beach hunting I'd still enjoy comparing it to my TDI. I don't beach hunt but once a year, but use my TDI in the coal waste areas where I live (was the actual reason for purchasing the unit). The TDI has uncovered many masked targets that my other VLF machine couldn't detect. Actually the largest, heaviest gold ring I've ever found, came from using the TDI in the same coal waste school yards.

Fantastic recovery, I'd be happy with a find like that.

A Bucket Lister With The Nox 800!!
Mark Gillespie replied to Mountain Mike's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Awesome, once in a lifetime find.? -
Over the past 11 months I've experimented between the single frequency and the multi-frequency functions of the Equinox and can say, I've yet to find a single frequency to outperform the multi-frequency programs. I know and understand that a single frequency has an advantage over multi-frequency function, but I've not had it happen yet. Multi always give a cleaner audio report with a more stable ID.

That's a once in a life time find.

That is a very nice collection of gold. I'd be very happy.

Most likely the reason it's not been a highly successful year, is because I'm having to hunt behind the Fisher F75 and the CTX.........

Problems With The Fisher F-Pulse
Mark Gillespie replied to Norm S's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
I've had many times where I had to re-tune mine, especially in mild to hot ground. -
The last time I had finds like that was when the F75 first came out. At that time it was a tremendous game changer for me.?

I know most hunters might argue the point, but I've always wanted a true, motion all metal mode like gold 1 and gold 2 with one small addition, 2 tone option, one for iron and the other for non-ferrous. Even better would be an adjustable tone break. Years ago I hunted with the Fisher F75, in motion all metal mode and found a lot of super deep targets that the other discrimination modes could not pick up.
