My Tesoro And Troy Arsenal
vince1978 replied to George Kinsey's topic in Blisstool, Compass, Tesoro, Troy, Etc.
I don't need another one.. I think....😅 -
Ok, so I went out with my E-trac yesterday, and it ended up being the last time out with that detector. After 30 mins in the field with it I decided that keeping both the CZ7 and the E-trac is just silly for the amount of detecting I do here. Both the CZ7 and E-trac punch deep in my local soil, but I just jive better with the CZ than the E-trac. (probably because I did not spend enough time with the E-trac to really learn it). The CZ sits closer to a Tesoro (less complicated), and those Tesoro's I know inside out, so i decided to keep things simple for now. I put the E-trac on Facebook marketplace last night and just sold it a moment ago for $450, so that's that. At the same time, I noticed a 10.5 coil for the CZ on Ebay and bought it, since I've always wanted to try that coil on the CZ. From what I've read I'll be in for a workout due to its weight, but people are reporting finding things 8 feet deep (kidding), so have to try it.. The Tesoro's I still cannot sell. It's a nostalgia thing, I guess. 🙂

Thank you PHrunt, feel free to give him my email address if that makes things easier. I still have no way to contact Machineman directly since I am not a full member yet.😅

Hi there @Machineman; I checked my inbox on this forum as well as my email (including spam folder) but I did not receive your message unfortunately.
-
and received. 👍So, the PM system works as long as I receive a message first 🙂

I take that back; there was a delay in receiving the message, but it came through. I replied to you Steve, let's see if you received it.

Thanks Steve! Yes, please forward him my email. 🙂

Am I Way Behind Or Do I Have My Bases Covered?

Thanks again for the input guys! I noticed here in Northern California in the parks the Etrac and CZ7 do best when it comes to depth reach in heavy mineralized soil.. But yes, get the Etrac in trashy conditions and the thing will throw in the towel. Plus, I get more excited finding an old coin or relic compared to a modern-day ring, so it's been a year or 2 since I last went out locally. The Tesoro's do really well in heavy trash / iron but at the cost of max detecting depth. However, when in the Netherlands I keep doing well with Tesoro, probably because I know these detectors best and the soil conditions where I detect are mild (except for iron trash but that's where Tesoro still shines is my impression) -
Great, thanks for your quick reply. Makes sense. Will he be able to see my email so we can close the deal? Or should I leave my email in a post here?

@Steve Herschbach @phrunt Gentlemen , is there any way I can message or email you? I tried but I cannot seem to get a PM to you or @Machineman This is probably since I still have a new member status on this forum. I would like to buy Machineman's tesoro 12x10 coil. I am located in California. Am already a vetted member of Findmall in case you want to do a little background check. Have tried reaching Machineman via Ebay as well since I noticed he has a gold bug listed there, but Ebay appears to block the communication; Ebay does not want us to deal in something that's not listed there. Thanks, Vincent

Am I Way Behind Or Do I Have My Bases Covered?

Yeah, I was kind of afraid the Deus 2 could do all that. 🙂 Just not sure if I'm ready to dump another $1500 into this hobby with the amount of detecting I'm doing. In a weird way I guess I'm happy that what I have is not completely obsolete, if I got the recommendation to just get a simplex or equinox 600 to replace all I have then I would feel like I'm looking at a pile of detectors that just won't do it anymore. I'll just get by with my vintage arsenal. -
Hello again Earl, my name at pieppiep is vincentvangerven 🙂
-
Hi Earl, my grandfather worked for Philips in Oss. He passed away when I was still young; I'm not exactly sure what he did there. Met my USA wife when backpacking in Nepal, that's how I ended up in California. I frequently check in on the Dutch site 'pieppiep', haven't signed up for BVW yet. I'm hardly detecting here in California, got spoiled by metal detecting in the Netherlands. My oldest find here is a 1905 dime... 😂

Apologies. I'll stick to English; I guess I got a little exited when I saw a fellow dutchman's finds. 🙂

Fantastische vondsten Earl! (Moderator note: Translated to English, please post in English) Fantastic finds Earl! I see that you experienced the good time there, when you could still search in places that are no longer possible/allowed. 🙂 Do you live in the Netherlands or America? I'm originally from Den Bosch, but I've been in California for 16 years now.
