  1. That's good news that you're digging deeper than you ever were in your dirt. I'm in southern Alabama just a few miles from the coast so my dirt has nowhere close to what yours would be but I'm digging much deeper than I feel I ever have done with any detector on a regular basis. I mean I'm finding 22 lead bullets at 9-10 in deep with a clear repeatable signal and a solid 71/72 on the screen with iron in the hole. Now I've dug a few deep targets with some detectors that surprised me of how deep certain targets were, but I'm digging a lot of deep targets with a manticore and only using 20 sensitivity. But I checked today also and I did not dig any good targets unless the target trace was touching the center line. I did dig quite a few targets that sounded good had good ID on the screen but the target trace was not on the center line they ended up being iron or some other type of junk metal just like every other time. But I know somebody has to be digging good keepers with the manticore where the target trace was not touching that center line. And that's what I'm hoping people will start chiming in here and letting me know what their experiences are.
  2. I have 150 hours or so on my manticore and over last 25 hours or so tried to keep track of all good targets I've dug that were not on or slightly touching center line. So far I've counted zero keepers that were not at least slightly touching the line. I have dug trash non-ferrous on the line , and maybe a couple wrap around iron that showed as a tiny dot on center line at 99. I've dug a lot of targets that sounded pretty good tone wise and the 2D screen showing nothing on center line and every target was either iron or some sort of trashy metal. Rattlehead made a video and every pic he posted of his screen of the deep coins in iron showed target trace on or touching center line on every target that was good. What is everyone's experience with this? How many of you are digging coins or buttons or any keepers that show up no where near center line? Just curious .
  3. Here are a few screenshots for the foldable pod setup. I completely understand not wanting 3D printed part says they don't seem to last as long. I'm not sure about that rubber seal inside the pod that seals the water out from the battery compartment it may or may not last repeated battery replacements. But it's another idea if anybody is willing to try it
  4. Almost every detector built up til now was built for shorter people. I've either had to buy tall man rods or modify another rod like I did my D2 with the legend lower. For years I've had to lean forward while using some detectors due to longer shafts not available. So glad to see minelab make a shaft for taller people finally. And now I don't have to have the arm cuff just above my wrist. It actually extends to my elbow .
  5. “I've gotten over the 10-year-old-kid-gotta-have-my-Christmas-present-now syndrome years ago. “ well Chase at 10 years old my father had been gone for over 5 years and we were so poor we didn't put up a Christmas tree. So I'm happy that at the age of 55 I can be retired for 13 years and buy things like this. If someone wants to buy something that makes them happy then have at it. I don't think that makes them spoiled or a brat 10 year old. Maybe a death in family, economy, crime etc but sometimes people buy hobby items to just feel good and take mind off of the crazy things happening in the world. Merry Christmas.
  6. Agree. Does it even matter? I'm tall and if a coil has offset ears then I can keep rod slightly shorter. Center ears then I have to extend rod longer. I wear a size 17 shoe so in really don't see a difference.
  7. I do like the video. It appeared to have 3 targets on the screen at same time?? If so then that's great.
  8. "On 1.12.22 you’ll find out why it’s better the second time around." This is meant for multi IQ. That's my thoughts because we have multi IQ in the equinox and then we have multi IQ2 in the manticore.
  9. I do like the quest phones for the puck. I don't have a pair at the moment but I do have the wsa2XL and they fit me loosely. They sound fine but they do flop on my head at times. I have tried the grey ghost ultimate headphones and those fit the best but sounded the worst.
  10. Chase I agree with most of that. I am a minimalist for the most part and my mind doesn't work like yours. I have tried several adjacent programs , different detectors, etc and still dig the iffy targets . My issue is I've been detecting since 1978 and many of those older detectors would usually only give a slight clue there was a good target in the ground in iron or trash so I dug everything for the most part. I'm trying hard to update my way of thinking lol. I've used the deus since 2013 but used whites for 30+ years. The mxt I used for 15 or more years. I'm still doing so much better than the old days as far as diging goodies amongst trash due to better tech. The F75 was great compared to the detectors I used most of my life, but now I have no desire to use one since the equinox, ctx, etrac ,deus 2 etc. I know etrac is a little older but still awesome . So I am getting better about learning the new way of things thanks to reading on these forums and videos. But anyway I no longer feel the need to spend a lot of time caparing targets with different programs or detectors, I dig it the heck outta the ground. I don't think my mindset has ever been technical like yours , but I could detect in a technical way if that makes sense.
  11. Good morning. Ok I've been making myself use just the ws6 over the last week or more. I'm actually really enjoying it. I like how it's adaptable to either using it as headphones alone, pairing it with wsa2, wsa2 XL , mounting to stem, wearing as a watch or wired headphones/earbuds. These are all fantastic. It basically has every setting the remote has. The couple it doesn't have are not too important. So I'm thinking this is what I will use for the next month. If it grows on me more then I may use only this.
  12. I've never been a fan of coil covers and have never used them. I Am however using one on my deus 2 since I hunt the beach often but I really hate how easy it fills up with sand. So I may stop using it. Also I use an aftermarket charging clip so a cover is not needed for charging.
  13. Yeah in thick brush I take remote off and shove it in my pocket and keep using the wsa2 til I'm clear from the thick stuff then reinstall remote.
  14. I do have the wsa 2 and wsa 2 XL headphones so I don't really need the ws6 puck unless I want a second detector. I like the remote more as it's just easier to see and make adjustments and has a back light. The screen on the puck is big enough while hunting, just while making adjustments it's more difficult to see.
  15. I will agree that the WS6 is a huge improvement over the ws4. And I do like the fact that you can make the numbers on the screen much larger. And really the only things missing or what the xy screen and waterproofing? So it really does come with a lot of functions but I don't notice the weight difference really the Deus is so light already.
  16. I agree the wsa2 is lighter and thinner. Feels better on the ears. Also simple only 2 buttons on both wsa2 and wsa2 XL. I've used the ws6 master on the beach on the wrist band and it was great. Once I saved the programs it was easier to use once at the site.
  17. I'm just curious about what people are using the most and prefer, luck master or the remote? I use remote 99% of the time. I do have the wsa II and the wsa II XL that I use instead of the ws6. I've used the ws6 master with the wsa II a few times and honestly I do like it . My only issue is the small screen. That's one reason I've always liked minelab.
  18. These are the three pieces I used. You can find them at the local hardware store or on the auction site or Amazon. The flat nylon washer is an eighth of an inch thick the rubber washer is 3/16 of an inch thick and the bushing in the middle I believe is half inch by half inch with a quarter inch hole that all fits together just like it was made for it
  19. There have been quite a few of the 11 inch coils that have had battery issues. My buddy had to send his coil back. I have not seen any of the 9-in coils with the same issue.
  20. I use modified park mostly. Also deep HC but I get more emi with deep HC and need to lower sensitivity to 80-88 . Park is quiet and deep and I can run max sensitivity
  21. I have a pair have been using them for several weeks. I love the sounds the tones through the headphones sound fantastic however I do wish they fit a little more snug on my head they feel a little bit loose but they're very very comfortable and they fold up nice
  22. Will you have any extra wsa2xl headphones? If not how soon will you be getting more in do you know?
  23. Here is a couple more pics to show that if you wanted to make it more stock like original it's easy to do instead of putting a rubber washer and just get you a nylon washer you can get the three quarter inch with a quarter inch hole 1/8 inch thick and use it in place of the washer and it still leaves plenty of room and it pushes that lower rod over snugly against the washer when the opposite side and that way it would behave exactly as the original would except for it would be a better lower rod with no flex and two and a half inches more length.
  24. I super glued that bushing in as it fits perfectly flush on each side. If you do that then you can go ahead use your cone fitting that came with the stock Deus coil hardware. It would be set up exactly like the stock lower rod one washer with a cone on one side pushing the lower shaft over against the washer if anyone is afraid of their warranty being voided.
