  1. I think their smaller one is more suitable for to-day nuggets. 😁 .........100 gm @ 0.01 gm......... LINK You get the magic Error when you exceed 3+ Ounce nugget
  2. Thanks for that info GB_Amateur. At least I can get my pride back, the wife rubs it in when she say "I found two gold coins".😁 I found it way back in the early 1980's. The coin shop said he would give me $10 Aus. just over $10 Usa at the time. I treasured it more than that and still do and won't part with it. I also found a USA quarter dollar that was lost in West Aust. by one of you Yanks when they were stealing our gold. 😀
  3. I'm with you mn90403 but I would only be heard from Ireland to New York. 🤑
  4. It should read 3.9 troy ounce, Not 4.2 oz as stated I think the writer does not know Troy weight system. The value of £80,000 quoted due to it rareness would leave it open to being a scam. Great looking nuggets.
  5. Found this map on another site https://www.prospectingaustralia.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?id=28424&p=7 It was in relation to Vistors to Australia not being aware of our large distance here.
  6. It still there on page 2 last entry. JW if this not the case let me know and I will repost it for you.
  7. Simon you will note the nick near the date. I won't show you the other side where I hit it fair and square with my gold pick, but its still my favourite coin find.😭 Another coin (aus $) showing the size of gold in groups of ten small nuggets..
  8. Any coin works so long as it is known what it is. This a photo of my first Token found compared to a USA Doller that I found.
  9. Now I know why I need a25" NF coil to find coin here in Gippsland ,Vic Australia.😃 Giant_Gippsland_Earthworm
  10. Simon the size of the dollar coin is a lot large than 2 dollar coin not like the Kiwi coins we have to work harder to get the larger denomination coin than you Kiwi's 😉
  11. Lunk you cracked the magic twenty penny weight well done.
  12. The Walco if I remember were made in Maryborough Vic in the early 1980s and were great I saw "Mallee Boy" pick when he made it for himself and show me it to me in Leonora WA in the late 2000s. Mike was a real man of the land and made it from spare parts off his property. The picks of 1979 - 83 were hopeless and many of us made own on pick as nothing worthwile was available at that time. The right pick varies from person to person. Mine is made from a truck leaf spring with a small jackhammer tool piece Mig welded to the pick pointy end as I kept wearing out the tip of the pick.
  13. Glad to be of help. Wish you all the luck you need and have fun. Regards Geof.
  14. Around 2002 I looked up every states mining data and filtered out every historic non gold mines and set up a site were they can be accessed. ..................Link.............. Read the first post and select the state you want and see if your area has any historic gold mines. Hope this gets you started.
  15. As the area looks shallow to me. I would do what I said before but I would use a coil of the elliptical type for coverage as the good size pieces will come up with little problems but the smaller bits will be easier to hear with the narrower width of a elliptical than round coil of the same size. Wish you luck, from what you have said it looks like the previous prospectors were chasing scattered gold. So cover a lot of ground around the workings.
  16. I would be in cruise mode around the edges of that area.
  17. Lacky you should be able to just click on the link without a onedrive account.
  18. All the cold weather and the rain is hitting us here in the Latrobe Valley. (it must be because of all the Lignite (Brown Coal) Power generation being shut down 😀 )
  19. This looks versatile and compact. https://www.gerbergear.com/en-us/activity/explore/explore-collection/folding-spade-30-000075
