Aye you fellows are in for a treat, I`ve got to agree with the user comments in that last vid the shaft lockdowns are a wee annoying, imagine the aftermarket fellows will come up with a better idea, but the depth/signal response in difficult/varying ground of the 6000 will blow you away.
Hi how does the 6000 do on alot of big iron stones in red soil ?-Thx

Thought I'd share this cool little inverter I just got. Some of you may already have it but I thought it would be good for those that have not seen this yet. It's really small and hopefully will work for field applications. I already charged my CTX battery and module with it with. IIf you have lots of Milwaukee tools like I do already it's a no brainer to get one of these as I have about five different batteries that I could bring along on a extended trip. I dont know how well it's going to work so I'll have to up date later on. If you have one already then let us know.
Nice I have the M12-Drill-impact-rachet combo with a few batteries-Milwaukee builds some great stuff and kinda pricey but I also have a shit load of ryobi 18 volt tools with alot of batteries and ryobi makes a couple of different wattage invertors as well-so if I was to go that way I would get the ryobi instead

What I found out kind of strange a couple yrs ago. My 2016 F-350 Super Duty Diesel would charge my detectors (including the Equinox) just fine, even if the truck is turned off. I normally charge my detectors in the truck cab on trips in the desert or mountains. My 2018 F-150 will charge my detectors when the truck is running, but as soon as I turn it off, the truck quits charging. Heck it won't even charge my cell phone if the truck is not running.
I have a tacoma and it was the same way No Power to 12 volt plugs when turned off-its because of a relay that is only on when the ignition is on-so your battery wont be drained-so what I did was close the relay with a piece of tape and now my 12 volt plugs are always on

How are the Chiggers around there after a good rain-there are a few areas around AZ that have high grass and lots of chiggers and they suck
-
In the vids Ive seen so far the 6000 sounds just like a warblelly 2300-thats one thing that drove me nuts when I had my 2300-very unstable-Buttt with that said I think the 6000 will be a big hit because of its simplicity just like the GM 1000-makes newbies chances of hitting gold a whole lot easier-

I did put down a deposit a while back, but decided mainly due to financial reasons to turn it into a Equinox for now. Who knows, maybe I should start posting wanted ads in the near future for a lightly used 6000 instead?
Hold tight Im sure there will be a few available

Not all experts are created equal. Can't really compare a person like JP who detects for a living and has access to Minelab engineers to some of the Easy Experts in Arizona who advise people to run in Fine Gold and 8 gain in very mild places like Q and GB, or who don't seem to understand what the stabilizer does still after how many years...
I learned how to detect by targeting the voluminous amounts of gold missed by the latter group, and I see many of them still saying the same things today that caused them to miss all that gold 13 years ago, which means they still haven't learned and I personally don't qualify that as expert. Experts learn from mistakes, do what it takes to fix them, and then improve, constantly over and over. That's how an expert becomes an expert, and those who simply repeat the same mistakes over and over will hardly ever improve.
I wouldn't bother detecting behind a person like JP though, and I can think of 9 or 10 people on this forum (and I'm sure more I don't know) in the US who I'd truly regard as experts too in the same regard and not bother working ground they've gridded. That's expert level.
Give me a new tool that hits gold which the old tech simply can't hear, no matter how expert the operator was, and it's game on again though.
That's one way to open up the goldfields, the other is to find new places. The second one can be done with 20 year old PI's and VLF's, the first way requires the newest cutting edge technology.
The 6000 appears to be trying to bridge the two concepts together and create a lightweight, fast prospecting machine that can also light up the old worked ground. Will be interesting to see how it does.
Well heck I think you should make a video and show all the experts how to manage the settings since everyone is doing it wrong- I'm no expert either I've had good results and mine is always in Fine Gold but my gain is alot higher than 8 along with some other tweeks
I like going behind other people just to see whats left and guess what no one gets it all with old or new deeper beepers including myself-lots of other things play a role as well as the operator New tech-its only as good as the operator heck I was still using a bungy free modded Sd2000 when most everyone else was using the Gp series and I was still finding gold behind them

I wouldnt put to much attenion on the chart info-I had a sdc 2300 and put it over some of my old beat up patches that I hunted to death with my 5000 and a few other beepers over the years hoping to find a bunch of nuggets missed guess what none at some and only a bit here and there-I have a 3-4 grain nugget on a poker chip I use for testing-the sdc hit at about 2-3 inches while my 5000 hit it at about 5-6 inches-I no longer have the sdc-IMO alot of sales hype-I hope the 6000 lives up to its chart hype-Time will tell

I never met anyone in the field who was swinging the 5000 without a bungee, other than patch cleaning where one stayed in the same place and set the machine down often, or using stuff like Sadie's.
I never use a bungee with my 5000-Im already tethered up enough with the power cord-I dont use a sadie-but I dont use anything bigger than a 17 coil either

Good job on the gold
