  1. Although I like the nice package the 6000 comes in Im stickimg with my 5k reason being is I like being in control of most if not all the settings and like having a big choice of coils and other things for it.The 6k might be like the 7k with minelab not offering any coil options-only time will tell just my thoughts

I tried the TRX  on the toughest micro gold target which would be  a 3 mm 10k white gold stud earring and it would not hit it.It would  hit a very small yellow gold earring back at 1/8 of an inch and a bigger one at 3/8 of an inch.It would also hit a small 3/4 inch   diameter hollow 10k yellow gold hoop earring at  about an inch. It would be something if they made a pi pin pointer that would hit my 3 mm earring.

I have a TRX also mine will pick up small flakes of gold and Im sure it would scream over a gold ear ring backing 👍 There either is something wrong with yours or your not doing something right or maybe counterfit  Mike C...

When I first started there wasnt all these forums around so my training mostly came from anything I could read and Lots of Trial Error and experimenting-I came from the School of hard knocks-Ive hunted with some very sucessfull  people even a few poster childs for different MD companies and picked up a few pointers here and there-never paid for any lessons-You never stop learning with great forums like this one around-Thanks Steve H 👍-Mike C...

  5. Over the years detecting I've experienced the same effect of submerging my coil in the water with different detectors so I doubt if its a flaw with the whites-I wonder if it could be do to a sudden temperature change that causes it to sound off-who knows good thing for me I dont hardly detect in water as most of my time is spent in the desert  Mike C...

That’s actually where I originally ordered from.  Hope they got their item numbers straightened out.

Well on their site it says in stock nothing about preorder-Ill find out tomorrow when it gets here-so how do you like the coil so far ? Do you have the 6 inch concentric to ? If so which would you say is more sensitive to small gold? Thanks Mike C...

Yes, I'm doing the same Mike....but the US$- AU$ is a killer at the moment, its gonna cost me 1/3 of the price of my 24K just to get one coil!!!😠

Well hopefully it will be worth it when we get them  When I went on the website and seen the price I thought it was a little steep and then you have to buy the skid plate because thats not included what a joke -anytime I buy a over priced coil for my 5000 they at least come with a lower shaft nut and a skid plate included  Mike C...

They do absolutely provide better sensitivity that’s true but in some ground that extra sensitivity will work against you.

Ill have to agree with JP on this-Although I havent used a X coil yet its very true with the Evo and the Elite coils as well-Ive noticed if the ground is wet they start getting noisier and hitting on hot rocks that normally not a problem when the ground is dryer-so then you dumb up your settings and what have you gained -Mike C...
