  1. Before everybody runs out and buys a bottle of coral calcium they should probably read this Coral Calcium: Benefits, Side Effects, Dosage, and Interactions (verywellhealth.com)
  2. These sure help Amazon.com: Plantar Fasciitis Foot Compression Sleeves for Injury Rehab & Joint Pain. Best Ankle Brace - Instant Relief & Support for Achilles Tendonitis, Fallen Arch, Heel Spurs, Swelling & Fatigue (Black-MED) : Health & Household
  3. My GPX4500 will attest to the great info you guys disperse. Salut. Those JP Cd's were invaluable.
  4. here's to karma. OK so karma should be bad for the thief in the future. get it?
  5. Nice weapon. I generally carry when out in the great outdoors. Depending on the perceived dangers in the area should dictate your caliber. That 10mm with the right load is almost 41 magnum power. I carry a S&W Shield 40 in a belt holster on the hip opposite my detector arm. I run a gpx 4500 with some big coils and didn't experience interference but some guys that run the 7000 might let you in on what to expect. Seeing how you have 16 rounds no need to carry extra mags. .
  6. That's to bad the Bill & Linda's page is gone. It documented a lot of interesting prospectors.
  7. Arizona is mostly dry streams unless it's flash flood time. Then you would have to hurry up your dredging. Just kidding.
  8. I sadly noted that when I went to Bill and Linda's page it was gone. I will try and call old Bill and see what's up.
  9. There are definitely two kinds of snakes in Gold Basin. Sorry for your loss. Hopefully your metal detectors are safe.
  10. Not big on two wheels in the desert. When I first got into prospecting back in 2008 I pulled out of the big city with a brand new KLR 650 (400 lb Kawasaki enduro motorcycle) on a front bumper hitch on my F150 while I hauled my 17' Nomad trailer out back. Nowhere in the instructions with any of this did it mention the motorcycle being up front would interfere with the cooling airflow. Well the Baker Grade from San Bernadino to Vegas claimed another victim. What I found was that two wheels are bad in the desert especially when loaded. I almost immediately traded the KLR for a real nice Honda Rancher 400 Never regretted it. But if two wheels intrigue you Yamaha makes what some call a Ranch Bike a TW200 that might do ok in the desert.
  11. Love that big coil. I put one of those on a 4500 and found a bunch too.
  12. Thanks for the story and pics. Gold Basin and me have many memories.
  13. Yeh, here's to the economy turning around. Love seeing gold at $1700 but would really love getting back to work.
  14. Nice finds with a machine that's still got the nack.
  15. I have been watching Jeff Williams videos quite some time and find them both entertaining and informative. I see a lot of effort on his part being made to both inform and entertain. It's true he can get a little corny at times with his skeleton buddy Slim but I like the humor. He sort of acts like that high school teacher who tried to be funny to make learning fun. There is a lot of good stuff to be watched on his you tube channel. I have found recently he has gone a little more commercial by shouting out to all his new patreon donators , I skip forward when he starts shouting out 20 or so names. But other than that I can honestly say Jeff disseminates good info in a funny way and "I like it".
  16. Minelab is not the only one that offers Vets a discount ( of course), it's just that many companies don't advertise it. I was in a Firestone Auto Center once and was having a rather loud conversation with some obnoxious bigot, during the conversation my military service came up. When I went to pay my $1,000 tab the cute young thing behind the counter asked if I was a vet ( she was privy to the loud exchange and a minority to boot) I told her I was and she gave me a 10% discount. Since then whenever I make a major purchase I always ask if they offer a vet discount. So far I found Bass Pro Shop does and I saved $10 on hip waders. It's a two edge sword though, I went into Pioneer Mining in Auburn Ca to buy a $200 sluice and asked about a Vet discount and got railed by the old timers in there. Some of us Vietnam era vets aren't that proud but were tough.
  17. Zee, I prefer the Keene 212 puffer. Not to heavy about 30 some pounds. You can usually find a good used one for around $400, new they run over $800. I like the puffers since you don't have to deal with the noise and fuel costs of the blower types ( $5.00 a gallon inc. oil vs. pennies to recharge battery). Try Craigs list for a used one. It all depends where you live. I know in AZ they are always on Craigs list or in Prospecting Stores. I would suggest watching some You Tube videos on puffers versus blowers to get a feel for the difference.. There are issues with the Keene puffers that are all fixable so if you think you might go Keene puffer let me know and I'll tell you what to look for. That being said I generally only worked in very dry soil with the puffer, the blower types can work with soil that is a little damp. Especially the Keene models that have a hot air induction system. Hope that helps a little. Not knowing your local you need to consider the rain factor and weather conditions for drywashing. I had just walked out of the mining store in AZ with my brand new puffer in January 2012 when the guy who just sold it to me said "you know you won't be able to use it here for a couple months because the ground is so wet". Duh on me! Here is a link to a friends page that could help. Lots of examples of people using different types of drywashers. http://www.billandlindaprospecting.com/index.html
  18. Ditto great pictures. Wish I could have made it for all the fun and gold
