  1. The “golden age” of metal detecting… Quite a lineup that year!
  2. I have a Detech Arrow on my MXT Pro and I love it! It also runs flawlessly on my V3i in SMF mode… The coverage is amazing, especially when running 3-frequencies.
  3. The auto trac system on my MXT Pro is lightning fast and updates to changing ground conditions much more effectively than either my Legend or Equinox. It’s so efficient that I seldom use the lock setting or ground grab button (except to prevent “tracking out” a weak signal). BTW, I rarely ever use the ground tracking mode on either my Legend or Equinox.
  4. The color screen on the V3i and the ability to analyze individual frequencies, while using simultaneous multifrequency mode, are still unrivaled by anything on the market today. Further, all these years later, the MXT ground tracking system remains best in class. Two of White’s best machines and well ahead of their time.
  5. I have an abandoned public swimming pool near me that dates back to the 1950’s. I’ve blanketed that entire area with an array of detectors over the years, including the Equinox and Legend. Recently, I returned with with my MX Sport and recovered two silver coins at 6+ inches each… So definitely still a competitive detector in my opinion.
  6. I often use the external battery unplugged on my Legend, just as a counterbalance. It just swings easier for me in that configuration.
  7. Maybe Minelab will just continue to funnel them to Cabela’s, who’s blowing them out, until the initial demand wave is satisfied?
  8. Am I missing something? What about the GPX 6000 in this conversation? Isn’t the premium down to $500 between the 6000 and the Axiom?
  9. It’s seems that disinflation has finally arrived in the world of metal detecting. Long gone are the days when Garrett, White’s and Fisher would come out with a new model and ride it for 10+ years. The only downside is that all these new models really crush anyone trying to sell their 1 yr “old” unit on the secondary market… Planned obsolescence I guess.
  10. I believe I saw your old White’s TRX selling on eBay for $499 😃
  11. Stavr Evroexcavator, from Ukraine, and add a carbon fiber handle. Extremely light to carry and you will never need to buy another scoop.
  12. I’ve also experimented Beach Mode 2 extensively. It does quiet the EQ 800 but it also cuts power to the coil. In my experience, using Beach 1 and dealing with additional noise, yields more finds. I’m hunting primarily on the fringe (the line between wet and dry sand). Also, every beach is different so results may (and will) vary greatly depending on the environment.
  13. I primarily detect on Atlantic beaches in the Eastern US. There is no black sand where I hunt. I use both my Legend and EQ 800 on the wet sand and in the surf up to waist deep. I switch over to my Excal II when I go in further than waist deep. On my Legend, I can run the sensitivity wide open (in Beach Mode) and it’s very quiet even when the coil sweeps in/out of the saltwater. On my EQ 800, I have to lower the sensitivity (in Beach Mode 1) to achieve stable performance but I still get some noise when the coil sweeps in/out of the saltwater. They are both great detectors but the Legend is quieter and more stable where I use it.
  14. For what it’s worth, my Legend is more stable on saltwater beaches than my EQ 800.
  15. Thanks Steve, for a moment I thought you might have branched out into travel agency services. 😉
  16. Also, I find that the F-Pulse runs best on Energizer lithium batteries or USB rechargeable Li-ion cells that maintain full voltage throughout their discharge cycle.
  17. Wasn’t there an issue with the switch failing on the early F-Pulse units? I believe I remember reading that in the past somewhere on the forum. I owned one when they were first released but sold it and recently purchased the latest “New & Improved” version. The new version seems to be more stable and just as deep as the original… I really like it!
  18. This all (Manticore included) begs the question, when will the CTX finally get its updo?
  19. Looks like a natural progression from the 600/800 and hopefully build quality will now be on par with Nokta. Disappointed that there’s no Bluetooth support, as I have multiple sets of LL headphones that work with both my 800 and Legend. Also having difficulty justifying the $400-$500 premium over the Legend. Personally, I’ll take a wait and see approach.
  20. I wonder if we will see Axiom deliveries in the US before the end of 2022? I hope so but it’s almost November now. Keeping my fingers crossed!
  21. Awesome, great job on the angle adapter! Now if someone could come up with an adapter to make the Noxie’s grip feel like the one on the Legend we would be in business!
  22. Does anyone know the voltage rating of the flux capacitor on that coil?
  23. I can’t believe we’re still settling for monochrome screens. How many of us would accept that on our cellphone or tablet?
  24. I’m going to pass on this release. I just don’t see any real advantage over the machines I already have. Maybe, a year after release, if the reviews are glowing, I would consider picking one up on a dealer discount.
