Help Bug? Nokta Legend Very Noisy After Update To 1.09
V3i/MXT Pro replied to Cristian's topic in Nokta / Makro Legend Forum
Try it in Beach mode. If that quiets it down then it’s EMI. -
I have a spare 16.8v TDI SL battery pack and charger that I would be willing to let go. It was professionally built-up with 4 Panasonic LI-ion cells and a balance circuit board. PM me if interested.

Sun Ray Inline Probe For The Equinox Announced!
V3i/MXT Pro replied to Cal_Cobra's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
That is how I use my Sun Ray probe to dig shallower, not deeper, holes. Digging any type of plug is not permitted on some of the properties that I hunt and the pinpointing mode on my MXT Pro can only narrow a target down to about a 1.5” radius. Before digging anything, I will use my Sun Ray probe to get an exact lock on the target. This almost always works because of the increased depth of the Sun Ray. I’ll then take my Lesche and make a 1” slit incision directly over the target and extract it from the surface using a coin popper tool. This “surgical” extraction method leaves no trace of digging, even on finely manicured lawns. -
I predict that neither the Axiom or the Manticore will be released before the end of September ‘22.

Sun Ray Inline Probe For The Equinox Announced!
V3i/MXT Pro replied to Cal_Cobra's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
I own a Profind 35, and it’s a great pinpointer, but the ferrous/nonferrous disc is very rudimentary at best. The Sun Ray probe uses your detector’s discrimination circuitry, so you get the same sounds and VDI numbers as when using the main coil… Basically using the full power and features of the Equinox as a 1” pinpointing coil. That and the depth are the main selling points of the Sun Ray. -
Sun Ray Inline Probe For The Equinox Announced!
V3i/MXT Pro replied to Cal_Cobra's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
The Sun Ray inline pinpointer is really just a 1” coil attached directly to your detector. The advantages are that it provides full discrimination, VDI, sound through the detector’s speaker/headphones and greatly increased depth. The detection depth on my Sun Ray probe is at least 1/2” more than my F-Pulse or TRX. Depth can be controlled by increasing/decreasing the sensitivity setting on your detector. The disadvantages are cost, additional wires and added swing weight. -
Sun Ray Inline Probe For The Equinox Announced!
V3i/MXT Pro replied to Cal_Cobra's topic in Minelab Equinox Forum
Interesting, those inline pinpointers are great and I still have one for my MXT. However, the handheld pinpointer market was somewhat less competitive at that time… -
I know what you’re saying. On my Legend I actually mount the external battery pack under the arm cuff just to improve the balance point. For me, it swings much better with that 8 ounces of weight hanging on the back. It seems like the recent design trend is to try to break the 3 lb weight threshold at the expense of overall balance.

Manticore...... Will It Leak Video From Gigmaster
V3i/MXT Pro replied to Jeff McClendon's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
I don’t have any cracks around my charging port either... I suspect it’s the added torque on the pod while sweeping when submerged. When beach hunting, I use my Nox until the water level gets up to the pod, then I switch over to the Excal for full underwater use. -
Manticore...... Will It Leak Video From Gigmaster
V3i/MXT Pro replied to Jeff McClendon's topic in Minelab Manticore Forum
I doubt that the Manticore will ever come anywhere near the sales success of the Equinox. The Nox was so successful because it was the first lightweight SMF detector for under $1,000. Once you get over a grand (or $1,599 in this case) a lot of people are going to think twice… Especially if it’s just a modest upgrade over what they already have. -
I remember reading that from Carl, thanks for sharing again. I was getting similar depth on my TDI SL (with the 16.8v battery) as my TDI Pro. The main difference was the TDI SL had a much smoother threshold and was a lot lighter in weight. I ran many hours with that pack fully charged to 16.8v and never had a problem.
-
Sorry to hear about your SPP Jeff. I ran my TDI SL for many hours with the 16.8v Li-ion setup, on hot Summer beaches, without any issues. My guess would be something unrelated let go inside your machine… I hope it’s repaired and back in your hands soon!

Ok then, how many of us have a backup for our backup detector? 😄 -

New F-pulse?
V3i/MXT Pro replied to phrunt's topic in First Texas - Bounty Hunter, Fisher & Teknetics
Hey Carl, did the New & Improved F-Pulse also remove the ability to turn the LED light off and adjust the brightness? Otherwise, my new F-Pulse has great depth and is very stable, I’m very impressed! -
White's Closes It's Doors After 50 Years
V3i/MXT Pro replied to azimuth2000's topic in White's Metal Detectors
TRX pinpointers, in excellent condition, sell on eBay for over $300. One would think Garrett would pick up on this and restart production. The TRX would complement the Garrett carrot as some prefer more/less depth in a pinpointer. -
Info Tesoro Lobo Supertraq And Supertraq Ht Difference
V3i/MXT Pro replied to Break1's topic in Compass, D-Tex, Tesoro, Etc.
As a side note, I believe Dave Johnson wrote the ground tracking code for the Lobo ST and also the White’s GMT & MXT. In my opinion, three of the best automatic ground tracking systems on any detector ever produced. -
Yes, mine was the same situation and all of the interim updates are included in v1.09.

Aftermarket GPX 6000 Locking Stem Kit Fitted And Tested
V3i/MXT Pro replied to Aureous's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
I’ve been beach and land detecting in the East for nearly 20 years. I would like to begin prospecting in the West and I’m trying to decide between an Axiom or a low-hour GPX 6000. It’s these small details relating to build quality that can sway the final decision… Minelab really should be listening. -
Aftermarket GPX 6000 Locking Stem Kit Fitted And Tested
V3i/MXT Pro replied to Aureous's topic in Minelab Metal Detectors
I’m having difficulty understanding how this is still an issue on a $6,000 detector?.. The $250 Nokta Simplex has zero shaft twist! -
I bought the Legend anticipating the release of 5x9.5 coil specifically. Hopefully it will be released soon.
