There's a producing pipe out your way I would have liked to have given a try that is no longer accessable to us common folk (if indeed it ever was) due to new land owners as well as several other not well known about diamondiferous-to-lesser-extent kimberlite and lamproite pipes scattered throughout the USA (there's many pipes here Stateside, not diamond-bearing though..)
However, I'd imagine our best shot at making the diamond dream a reality, at least as far as a find in the United States goes, remains at Crater Of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas..

I'm guessin' the reason for your great success at Lake Lanier is cos a few years back that part of the country had a purt serious drought goin' on (I'm sure you could find news articles about it) and the lake was virtually empty.. If ever there was a time for that shoreline to have been detected it would have been then.. Just thought I'd let you know..

Ok.. There was a lot of good stuff the first day, but I think the one that came the closest in intent of remaining true to the song and rhymeology was cabelafella. With a small tweak we end up with:
...a cartridge 'neath a bare tree.
I'd like to be able to use "in" but nothing really makes sense when it comes to 'tree detecting..' If anyone can find a single syllable tree name that rhymes with "pear," please post it.. Otherwise Fir or Pine or Oak may be a better choice than "bare;" even though we'll lose the rhyme thing we retain a tree name..
The best I can come up with using both "in" and "tree" is:
...a cartridge in some tree debris, or,
...a cartridge in a tree's debris.Frankly, out of those I like "...bare tree" better..
So c'mon peeps -- put your brain's power to use..!

Hmmmm.. Makes me wonder where they'd place the words c**ter, sn*tch (not snitch,) sn*pper (not snipper) and tw*t (not twit) in Oz speechification classification then..? For that matter, have they even ever heard those slang before, outside the possible exception of tw*t..?
For instance and as another country-to-country example: From what I understand tw*t is fairly acceptable usage-wise in at least parts of England while oh-so-no-no here Stateside..

10/Roger onna eyesight thing.. I had to wear a magnifying visor as normal for close work, then pull out a loupe to use with 'em for checking details.. Kinda sux'd, but sure beat the heck out of all the alternatives.. Was at the eye Dr on Friday though and there's been a moderate change with one of the astigmatisms, so I'm hoping the new glasses prescription will make things right again..
True that, re the dreams.. And it isn't an impossible dream either, as a lady who hadn't been penny roll hunting very long came across a 1969-S DD in quite decent shape a bit over a year ago.. Still out there, they are..!

I got back into coin roll hunting for a few months while laid up since the end of last year.. I think it's fairly safe to say the days of everyone being able to stack silver for fun and profit are over, exception being in the right place right time to catch a "Grandpa's change jar" rolls someone is just now getting around to turning in.. Didn't take me long to get over the whole scene right quick..
The only things I mess with at all are errors and varieties and even those only if unc (or proof,) which means purchasing same year unc rolls (or boxes if you can get them) at face, hoping an error / variety comes along, then hoping there's some in what you bought.. But now along comes the cost of getting things graded and slabbed, which has gotten sooo rediculously expensive you need to have found something mighty special to make the entire ordeal worthwhile.. My take is unless you're in the biz it simply isn't worth your time any longer, (exception being if it's a hobby and you're putting finds up rather than wanting to flip for profit..)
Besides long-time accumulated circulated finds the only things I have right now are a nearly-full unc box plus loose rolls of unc 2009 plain Lincoln cent "Formative Years" which is chock-full of varieties, a full unc box plus loose rolls of 2017-P cents (only Phila-issued cent sporting a mint mark which makes 'em valuable in its own right plus a discovery of some doubled-dies) and continuing purchases of same-year unc whatevers whenever and wherever I can find them -- odds are all of which will simply get passed along.. Most 'local' banks no longer have new coinage; the 12 Federal Reserve banks might.. Other than there, best make friends with someone in a high-volume retail store or see your local coin dealer for cost-plus offerings..

PS: Oh yeah, I also have a couple hundred rolls of "unsearched" '59 - '82 unc Lincoln memorial coppers, sucker that I am and from a 'reputable dealer' no less, if anyone wants 'em cheap.. -
All I'm going to say is: There's detectable gold locations in SoCal..
Watching "high-graded" vids & listening to fish stories at gold shows is not research..

Guess you'll be rolling in soon down this-a-way.. Fortunately you missed the red tide issue we had 2nd half of Oct.. Caught a ride over on the gulf stream from the still-going-strong mess in SW FL.. Lucky for here there was rapid dissipation following a moderate fish kill; ocean locally back to normal bacteria count since early-mid Nov -- meaning it's safe once again to breath the air and get wet beachside..
Can't remember if you have the addy for area surf cams, so here it is: https://www.surfguru.com/ I live far enough from the shore these days I check 'em before heading over; you may not need to do so..

I hope you can too.. You're on some incredible ground there as far as finding early presses of both colonial and USA coinage goes.. Finds of 18th century foreign coinage is, let's say, "common" in the NE US.. Late 18th & early 19th century USA struck coins..? Not so much.. Good hunting to you come springtime..!
