Very cool.....
Also nice to see the V3i is indeed what they said it is.... 3 true frequencies simultaneously.
Yup the V is still ahead of it's time in many ways.

I have to agree....
A new paint job, a straight shaft and an aftermarket coil added on isn't exactly earth shaking advancements.
I hope White's steps up again because the Equinox is gonna put some pressure on them and they haven't really made any advancements since the V3i which was ahead of the herd by a long jump but they are losing ground and really can't afford to sit on their butts..
I am a White's guy and have been since the 70s .... I am still very happy with my V3i and MXT as well as an old Eagle Spectrum.
In many ways the V3i is still ahead of it's time and is a tough act to follow.
I am sure they have something in the works but I guess we all have to wait and see.

I envy metal detectorists in England, having such a history and large population in a small area and such a history of human population can create wonderful finds, you had a great night! very impressive! Thanks for the post.
The downside to being in the youngest country I guess is we don't have that history.
You do however have some very good gold.....
I would love to do some beach mining there.

I guess we'll see what he does.
You might get your light weight ATX yet.....

I got my old Eagle Spectrum out today just for the fun of it.
Those are still great machines... I used the original 950 coil and hit a local park for an hour or so.
Found a few coins and a nice little 925 ring. My first glimpse of the ring was I thought I had found a gold one ... But hey it is a nice little silver.

Yup... As your skill level increases you will be able to make certain shortcuts that will speed things up for you.
For instance you obviously won't have to classify to every mesh if your not in the very fine gold.
Gaining expertise in your panning will also speed things up dramatically.

I know the Equinox is not out yet but during all the testing did anybody run it over Monty's nail board.
Just curious .... and will be interested in how it does when it gets into peoples hands.

We just had a heck of a storm .... Really rearranged the beaches... I may try to get out a bit this weekend... will see how the weather is and how I feel, pulled a muscle in my back a couple days ago.... sucks gettin old.
The surf washed a guy of the rocks up north of me a few miles and a number of the beaches have been closed due to the flotsam that has been washing up with the large surf...

Hey Steve.... How ya doin with the earthquake swarm?
-
We finally manage to get out a bit and move a little sand.
The beach still isn't prime since there was about 2 feet of overburden to get through before you got to a layer of fine gravel and large rocks some well over a 100 lbs.
The day was fantastic weather-wise but the gold was thin..... 1.86 grain..... a long way to go for that first oz. of the year.....

I have an older MXT....
Really couldn't care less about the ground grab since you can still accomplish that by the simple flip of a switch back and forth.
Nor do I care about a backlight..... When I hunt at night which is seldom anymore I used a headlamp that illuminated the screen just fine when I needed it.

Minelab has kinda brought a lot of this on themselves... All this hype and as yet an unknown firm release date to my knowledge. But then again I haven't been following any of it..
It was just an off chance I dropped in here tonight...

But your right about all the gossipy old ladies out there speculating and carrying on.... Human nature Cracks me up..

Great stuff there guys..... Congrats....
I haven't been out yet, waiting for the beaches to get prepped from some storms.

Great bit of detecting there Steve.... Very impressive.
Sweet silver....

I have an Eagle Spectrum that I got in 90 or 91... Still a great machine .... versatile and programable. Operating freq. is 6.59 so not much on the small gold but a killer sweeper when I have the Bigfoot coil on it....
Heavy old beast though.... Or am I just getting old?...
