  1. I have to agree....

A new paint job, a straight shaft  and an aftermarket coil added on isn't exactly earth shaking advancements.

I hope White's steps up again because the Equinox is gonna put some pressure on them and they haven't really made any advancements since the V3i which was ahead of the herd by a long jump but they are losing ground and really can't afford to sit on their butts..

I am a White's guy and have been since the 70s .... I am still very happy with my V3i and MXT as well as an old Eagle Spectrum.

In many ways the V3i is still ahead of it's time and is a tough act to follow.

I am sure they have something in the works but I guess we all have to wait and see.

I envy metal detectorists in England, having such a history and large population in a small area and such a history of human population can create wonderful finds, you had a great night! very impressive! Thanks for the post.

The downside to being in the youngest country I guess is we don't have that history.

You do however have some very good gold.....

I would love to do some beach mining there.

  3. We just had a heck of a storm .... Really rearranged the beaches... I may try to get out a bit this weekend... will see how the weather is and how I feel, pulled a muscle in my back a couple days ago.... sucks gettin old.
The surf washed a guy of the rocks up north of me a few miles and a number of the beaches have been closed due to the flotsam that has been washing up with the large surf...

  4. We finally manage to get out a bit and move a little sand.

The beach still isn't prime since there was about 2 feet of overburden to get through before you got to a layer of fine gravel and large rocks some well over a 100 lbs.

The day was fantastic weather-wise but the gold was thin..... 1.86 grain..... a long way to go for that first oz. of the year.....

  5. I have an older MXT....

Really couldn't care less about the ground grab since you can still accomplish that by the simple flip of a switch back and forth.

Nor do I care about a backlight..... When I hunt at night which is seldom anymore I used a headlamp that illuminated the screen just fine when I needed it.

  6. Minelab has kinda brought a lot of this on themselves... All this hype and as yet an unknown firm release date to my knowledge. But then again I haven't been following any of it..

It was just an off chance I dropped in here tonight...

But your right about all the gossipy old ladies out there speculating and carrying on.... Human nature Cracks me up..
