Does anybody know if a Chromebook can be used for Nox Software Updates? The Minelab website has only instructions for a Mac or Windows. Just wondering as my only computer is a Chromebook.

I was downhill from Glenn when I found this small Nugget. Haven't weighed it yet but put in on my watch to take the photo for size comparison. In the past, I've used my White's MXT and GMT but this was my first outing with the Nox 800 and standard coil. It was 2" deep and I was using Gold 1, Sensitivity 22, and the factory settings for everything else. It rang up between 2 and 4 with a very solid signal. It's tough hunting those steep tailings piles. I am now scheduled for Hernia Surgery next week!

I'll be in Sebastian from March 5 thru March 20 with my Nox. Plan on detecting every day except March 9 when I'll attend the TCAS Hunt in Wabasso. Hoping for a Nor Easter to make some cuts in the Beach. I've detected the Treasure Coast Beaches several times in the past and found some modern Bling but no Spanish finds. Hope my luck changes this time.

I've been a member of the Ringfinders for about 7 years. Get a call for lost "Bling" about once every month or so. I've never charged anyone a cent whether or not I find the lost item. I just tell them to "Pay it forward" if they get a chance. It's been a lot of fun, especially if you find the lost item which is about 50% of the time. Over the years I've had 4 calls from women who threw their rings out the window of moving cars after arguments with their Spouses. Was lucky to find one of them. Makes me wonder how many other rings are out there besides our roads thru out the U.S. Being a member of Ringfinders has also opened the doors to other metal detecting opportunities as some people will give you permission to further hunt their properties.

Was on my second day of detecting today without re-charging when I noticed I was down to one bar. Took me an hour to get back to my car, detected all the way and was still getting clad coins at down to 4". Settings were Park 1, and manual GB. Took 3 hours to fully charge the detector back up, headphones much less time. I think Minelab says you can get 12 hours detecting on a full charge but was wondering if using the wireless headphones cuts that time down?? Anybody have thoughts or experience on that?

I downloaded the manual from the Minelab web site to a Flash Drive. Took the Flash Drive to Office Depot and had them print out a manual in color and heavier stock paper. Has a nice spiral binding.

Years ago when I was much, much younger, I had a tent and a 4 Runner like Steve's. Now that I have a small Motorhome I bought an older (2000) Jeep Wrangler since it's a great tow vehicle that can be towed 4 wheels down as opposed to the 4-Runner which is not recommded to be towed. I see that Winnebago has come out with a new 4X4 Class B Camper built on the Mercedes frame that looks great but not many people, myself included, could afford that steep a price tag which is up in the $135,000 price range. Have to find a lot of gold to pay for that!!

I live behind Pike's Peak. The GPS altitude in my front yard is 8,600'. My next door neighbors are both Paramedics who attend to a lot of tourists hiking up to the 14,000' level. Their best advice is to drink LOTS and LOTS of water and pace yourself. It must work, I"m 74 and still vertical.

My Dealer says they are in Chicago and he will receive his shipment in two days. Hoping to get mine a few days after that.

My new 9" should arrive today. Got it from my Dealer for $416.20 which included shipping. Now looking forward to the new Pin Pointer which should be available soon.

My XP Deus has to be one of the easiest and lightest to use. You can detach the small "control box" from the shaft and wear it on either right or left arm/wrist with the optional arm band. Also has very light weight wireless headphones. Never a problem laying it on the ground while digging or probling for a target as there is nothing to get dirty. Only problem, at least for me, was the learning curve for the Deus and now with Version 4 and new coils I'm having to learn again. Always take my trusty White's MXT as a backup detector.

Spot on! Hilarious! I just mothballed my Deus and am headed out to get fresh AA's for my GMT.

Great ideas Steve. Regarding Meteorites, I'm thinking it would fit fine under the "Rocks, Minerals, Gems & Geology" forum.

Ditto on the Chromebook. Bought an HP Chromebook several years ago for $299 and love it.

Steve, Will the "African Coil" give me any advantage to the 4X6 Shooter I've been using on my GMT? Most of my detecting here in Colorado has been on tailings piles.

If Tboykin could maybe talk to management to give us a bit of a discount and free shipping for having to wait so long to get the kinks worked out, I'll order one tomorrow!

White's has been advertising a "Garage Sale" of discontinued items including refurbished Detectors. I really don't need another Detector but couldn't resist ordering a refurbished White's Coinmaster GT with free shipping for $140.00. Probably just use it as a backup to my other detectors but I think it should work fine for parks, dry sand, and just general purpose detecting. I see on eBay their going for much more. It arrived yesterday in a brand new box, pretty cool. Might order another one as a Christmas gift for the Grandson.

Young couple called me three weeks ago to help find a lost ring in Pueblo Lake. He had just purchased the 2K+ ring and propsed a week earlier and when they were tying up their boat he had his fiancee take off the ring and give it to him for safekeeping. Of course he dropped it in about four feet of water. Myself and several other club members have been searching for it ever since and today was my lucky day. He's now out of the doghouse and wedding bells will ring in the future. Yes, he offered a wad of money but I asked him to "pay it forward" and help somebody in the future. I was using the AT Pro in "zero" mode and iron discrination of "35". The AT Pro and the Garrett Carrot make a nice combination for water hunting.

Steve, What's your opinion of the "Deepseeker Package" offered by KellyCO for the ATX? I'm considering an ATX and it will be used on east and west coast beaches along with mine tailings here in Colorado? Most of the gold I've found here is pretty small.

Awesome. Looks like everyone was using an XP DEUS. Wonder if Denmark has Treasure recovery laws like England? That would be good for the detectorists.

I've had a GO FIND 60 since they were put on sale by KellyCo and even though I have 8 other detectors I've found multiple uses for it. It's perfect for folding up compactly and fitting in a suitcase for my frequent trips and seems to work great in dry sand beaches and city parks. When I'm home I take it as a backup to my MXT and XP Deus. Used it in England for one day when I forgot to charge my Deus. The Grandkids have fun with it and it's useful introducing friends to the hobby of metal detecting. Lastly it's handy to keep in my car in case I happen to drive by a spot that looks good to detect. To me, it's been worth far more than the low price it sells for.

1515 Art; Have you checked out the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk? It has low range, skid plates, off road tires, and a V6 engine that seems pretty strong.
