  1. Great units. Got gold with mine and full review will be posted soon. I am quite happy with the Fors Gold.

Steve I look forward in reading your review. Been tough around here. My 91 year old father passed away after falling and breaking his hip, this coming after he had a heart attack months ago. I have been busy taking care of him and tomorrow is his funeral so I am hoping everything gets back to normal in the months ahead.

  2. I am using a product that is intended to be used as shelve liner. It's a very thin rubber mat called Easy Liner and sold by Walmart. It's the same matting used in the Black Magic machine posted on page 1. I used 3M 77 spray adhesive to secure the mat to the aluminum. The mat has a slight texture to it that gold sticks to.

Unless Nokta has some vastly superior technology up their sleeves, I'm guessing the detector is more or less a knock-off (internally) of one of the entry level Gold Bugs... if even that. Funny how they're really pushing that detector on to the Africans, who as you well know are avid buyers of anything counterfeit or sub par.

I've seen some of the posts and videos regarding the Velox One and let's just say they quite don't add up. The best one is the guy and his buddy in AZ traipsing down a well traveled wash wearing tennis shoes and metallic boots, and then all of a sudden discovering a whopper 24 gram gold nugget lodged next to a boulder. I got a good laugh out of that one, especially with his tennis shoe shorn buddy carrying a steel garden trowel to dig with. Not only that, the guy really goes to town with his pick in digging that nugget and other trash up. No scraping off the overburden, no real dirt sorting, just hammering away with his pick as if he knew how deep the target was. Something just don't smell right. I'm calling BS.

I think some of things you pointed out are rather trivial as in the tennis shoes, garden trowel, and well traveled wash. The young boy kept his distance while holding the trowel. I listen to the sound of the pick impacting the dirt and after the first few inches it was very obvious the ground was very hard. If your suggesting the nugget was planted I think not as it looked encrusted as though it been there for a while and again the hard dirt. Not scraping the over burden is not an issues as well. No two prospectors are going to follow a book on Metal Detecting. The shadows support they are out with the sun straight overhead so maybe they been working this wash for some time. Just my two cents... Also there is a third person involved who is shooting the video.

  4. To use the Miller Table you need to classify. My demo video the gold was much larger than the con I was running. The demo was just to see how well the gold was sticking. The very fine gold would need the water flow much slower to capture the fine gold. You will need to classify and run like 30, then 50, then 100 mesh. What I do in the field is classify down to like 1/16" mesh, throw it on the table to capture the bigger gold then save the con for a later day to capture the fine gold.

I have a small tray under the end of the table. It is angled backwards to capture the con but allows the water to spill back into the black tub. When it become full I remove the tray and dump the con into another tub. This method seems to work for me as I do not want to spend hours in the field chasing fine gold when I could be dry washing, running the trommel, etc.

During the video I was adjusting the angle and water flow trying to find that sweet spot. There was some really small fine gold laying on the mate. I did find some very small fine gold about half way down the 36" table and this was due to adding to much con too quickly. Again it’s a learning experience in figuring out what works best for different size gold being captured.

  5. You want to run the table with the water slow enough and still maintain an even flow across the width of the table and length. Also you want to use Jet Dry to break up the water tension. Run the table at 5 degrees seem to be ideal. If you plan to use the table at home then there is no issues using a 120 volt pump. If you plan to use the table in the field as I do during the evening hours then a Attwood 500GPH pump from Walmart is a great choice as it will last a lifetime. The HF pumps are not sealed and will not last plus the Attwood is just a few dollars more. I use a couple of 7AH batteries along with a car battery charge to charge them. You can pick up a 7AH battery or larger at Home Depot of Battery Plus. You need to buy a sealed Lead Acid battery as seen below.

  6. The above Detech coil from their Bulgarian website states this after being translated:

Search coil S.E.F. is specially designed and manufactured by Detech, for Fisher metal detector brand model: Gold Bug, Gold Bug DP and Gold Bug Pro. Size 38cm x 30cm (15"x12") With this probe depth raised demand for the metal detectors Fisher Gold Bug, Fisher Gold Bug DP, and Fisher Gold Bug Pro around 30% according to the nature and character of the soil.

From what I have read the S.E.F 15" x 12" Coil for Fisher F75 is what you buy and it works on the Gold Bug Pro
