It seems they never want to tell you where the roads are. Or They just don’t know all the roads they have LOL. Best thing that I use is an air photo to show me where the roads are.

Awesome and congrats Gerry to your bro! With coil size on the EQ I think it does not matter with depth. I have read a few articles that think that too. On the beach I have given up using the 15 because I was still finding quarters 18in down with the 11. I’m not kidding you either. Much easier and better control with the smalls.

It’s funny I really want to find a reale because it was what got me detecting to begin with. I only get to try 2 weeks out of the year and have tried over the last 8 years! What is funny is finding nuggets is way more lucrative for me then that roughly $30 reale but I just want one and then I’m gonna make a necklace with it surrounded with a bunch of my nuggets 😂. Might have to add the tack now to that necklace 😂😂

How do people set up their stuff? I have an SPO1 that I used to use with my SDC. I tried it once with my GPZ and still did not like having all the extra gear and wires. The whole point of going wireless is to have just one speaker clipped. When I tried to hook it up I had to go from the WM 12 with a cord to the SP01 plus more cords for an external speaker or headphones. It’s like gearing up with even more stuff when I’m trying to be more minimal and reduce weight and gear to carry. If we all want a lighter detector, we should also ask for a wireless booster with external speaker, and have like the WM 12 in size.

The first thing that I noticed was that all of the Nuggets were on the west side of that main wash. I would have to believe that there should be some good nuggets in that wash too. Maybe it was just to deep for the detector. Awesome mapping! (And of course....nugget finding)

I’m thinking combine the two concepts. Use the mining sieves but use the foam and zips for the floatation!

Oh boy! Cmon Nuggetfinder!!!

The one thing that I don’t like about lead is that sometimes it looks like gold that has quicksilver all over it

New pic! Looks like it is a 12" Fingers crossed for the hope of other sizes, like 10 or 8! With that pressure valve I am now wondering if they might not be waterproof.

I’m curious how many people are willing to spend $8000 again? Unless minelab is offering some type of trade-in program LOL

I had a lady come up to me and asked me what I was doing when I was on the beach a couple years ago. I told her I was metal detecting and then she got up tight and asked me if that would hurt all of us at the beach. 🤦♂️ I had an LOL moment

The announcement was also on their Facebook page. I have also emailed them and asked to be put on a mailing list for updates on this if they have one.

Perhaps they actually worked with Minelab so no dongle needed.

2 dollar bills are rarely used. We tried coins multiple times, just hasn't taken off. Nobody wants to carry a change purse since dollars still have some value here.

2300 x coil would be interesting if it was waterproof

I use locate patch when being thorough.
Like you posted the keywords are “patient” and “methodical.” Two anyone can practice even when not detecting.

I don’t comment much because I have more to learn than to say, but can contribute here. As a career ranch manager, I have hundreds of thousands of miles on atvs. If you plan on trading your machine in every few years, then pick one that rides smoothly and is fun to drive. They will all be fine for that long with once or twice a week use. I’ve used atvs from Honda, Yamaha, Polaris, kowisaki, Kubota, John Deere. The only machine I’ve found to be of adequate quality is Honda. They don’t ride as nice, and they usually don’t have the power the others do, but they last forever. Currently we have rancher 420ES, foreman 500ES and pioneer 1000-5 models, and they range from 3500 miles to 16,000 miles. My neighbor has a foreman 500 with nearly 40,000 miles without a breakdown. We also have 4 Yamaha grizzlies, 3 Polaris rangers, 1 Polaris rzr, and 1 Polaris sportsman. We lost one engine in a Yamaha, and lots of small repairs. Can’t keep a Polaris on the trail for more than a couple hundred miles at a time between belts, clutches, oil leaks, axles, and a transmission/transfer case/rear diff combo for $3500. If I bought a new machine right now it would be a Honda for sure, and most likely a pioneer 1000-5
That is super helpful to know! Thanks for sharing this knowledge and experiences!
